Hazard's Red Card
Jimskeleton 12 years ago
Tottenham Hotspur, England 7 728

Just wanted to get people's opinions on this red card and Hazard's decision making in this incident.

Laws state that it is a red card but do you think it was fair?

Was there any need for Hazard to even get involved just to save what in all reality was just going to be a few extra seconds and did the red card ultimately cost his team, although I don't think it did as Chelsea were poor all game.

For those who didn't see it, Hazard was sent off for a kicking a ball boy in the body in an attempt to get the ball out from underneath him. Am sure I or someone can post up a video in here for those who missed it.

@Tuanis: I won't argue with you because when you are a 100% right. Chelsea, to simply put it, are in a shit hole(once again). We can't do shit and can't be serious contenders for any trophy at this rate. Mock all you want. But don't mock too much. There will be a time where we will rise again and make ManUtd the team that has to catch up. And that time might be a time where Hazard is still with us, and we will prove to him why he signed for the right team. You wait and see.

@Vendetta, go ahead and single my team out! You think just because I support United, I am going to condone what players like Cantona did? You need to think a bit more objectively about it. This goes beyond fan support. What Hazard did was disgraceful. If I were the kid, I would've filed charges and sued his ass. And you telling me the sport doesn't suffer? That statement just shows how naive you are as a football fan and what a small world you must be living in. A few of my friends, who are trying to get involved with the sport in the US, looked at the incident yesterday and quickly concluded that the sport is trash, unsportsmanlike and violent after what Hazard did. To them, "soccer" has certain stereotypes that will always be reinforced if players like Hazard do stupid things like what he did yesterday.

I hear most people in the US say that soccer is trash because the players roll around like girls with every collision.

I wonder which leagues they're watching.

@TheGame: First of, this "kid" is 17. He needs to man up. When got kicked he didn't have to act like a huge baby and roll around. He didn't even have to go the hospital. Now please don't call it disgraceful where as what Cantona did to the fan wasn't disgraceful? What Roy Keane used to do to his national team's manager and opposing player isn't disgraceful. What Ryan Giggs did to his brother wasn't disgraceful? Like I said, I've seen worse incidents in your team. Shit happens. Your friends need to also man up, no offence. If they want to watch football then they have to understand incidents like this will always happen. They have to overlook it like everyone here in the forum is now doing. Violent tackles/fights/fans will appear, and there will always be players fighting somewhere in the world while playing a football match. What makes it pathetic(once again, no offense) is that they call it violent. HAH! Because obviously the NFL isn't violent, UFC isn't violent. I didn't even want to go back to this thread because it's now stupid to bring this topic up. This whole argument started because you thought it was Hazard's fault and he deserves a 3 match ban. The ball boy was also at fault and in the end they apologized to each other. Honestly, you can't believe this is fully Hazard's fault.

Hazard has done one bad thing in football and your calling him a disgrace? you got to be joking, sure kicking him was the wrong thing but hes definelty not a disgrace. sir alex fergusson threw a boot at Beckham and is he a disgrace?

Of course that is a disgrace, but ofc his disgraceful actions are covered up by all the remarkable achievements he has done for us!

And I can't argue with that. SAF Will forever be in the history books. But achievements can't hide a disgraceful action. Achievements can only keep it away for longer. What Hazard did was a horrible but it is not a disgrace. When someone (TheGame) believes it was fully Hazard's fault, I'll have to argue with him.

This is why the FA aren't even bothering doing a research on this "incident". Hazard obviously did make contact, but like I said in the 2nd page of this thread, he only wanted to nudge the ball from underneath his stomach. Not kick him.

hypocrisy.....well written V,it was legendary written :D,could not have said it any better, thats what other fans need to know of their own clubs before saying others but opinions are opinions

ok guys i think thats enough both parties have apologized to each other and all is good now,for now...

but still did you guys sawed the the ball boy twitter thingy which dynastian posted a page back or so?it was just stupid,it was planned, well i think so it was,so it wasnt a disgrace?even redknapp said it was disgusting even mourinho said hazard is innocent but still opinions are opinions

yes hazard kick him which was stupid but when he kick ball/kid how come the ball rolled?when hazard wanted to take the ball he went down to take it and hold it to waste time, pffftttt its no use explaining it anymore....you get the whole idea

plus the kid didnt had to act like his ribs were broken, just stupid...

so kid posted on twitter planning to waste time, did it,wasted more time by acting his ribs were broken

hazard, just a kick AT THE GOD DAMN BALL you can see that hazard wanted to win, thats why i love his character and yes its red card but the ball boy deserves some blame!

OPINIONS ARE OPINIONS

@V,i heard the fa are investigating the situation,so if it is hazard will surely get a much heavier ban cause you know that the fa is shit, hates us and biased to something, you get the whole idea....

To almost all the Chelsea fans in this forum, it seems like a lot of you have a hard time thinking objectively about this. Most of you are 16-17 years old, but seriously grow up. I know how much you like your "precious" Chelsea and how hard it is for you to admit that what Hazard did was disgraceful, but this is life. I already told you what Cantona, Giggs and Keane did were disgraceful as well, but the difference is I understand that they're human and capable of making a mistake. It seems like most of you think that Hazard is a God and should be excused just because he apologized. What next? John Terry shouldn't be banned for racially abusing Anton, just because he apologized afterwards? And @Vendetta, in NFL and UFC the "violent" part is the sport itself. Those people sign contracts to get punched in the face or tackled in the leg. This kid is there to get balls so the team can play. Was he wrong to waste time? Yes. But what Hazard did was an act of disgrace and to not ban him for at least 3 matches would set a precedent for other footballers that they can show acts of violence against people not directly involved in the game without facing harsh penalties. And to the act itself, it is not really the kick that bothers me (getting shinned in the ribs by a footballer hurts for sure though), but the way he is holding the kid down. Anyways I was right that he will get at least a 3 match ban, but sorry to say that the FA have found even that to be "clearly insufficient".

Honestly, did you miss the GIF on your way scrolling down the page? Or did you not read my posts in the second page? I'm disappointed by the fact you didn't bother reading what I said with my previous argument with man_utd and I'm also disappointed by the fact Hazard is getting a 3 or more match ban. I posted the GIF that shows he was kicking the ball, he apologized, and the kid did not go to the hospital or need any serious medical treatment.

One more thing: holding the kid down? Honestly, where do you get this bullshit.

@Vendetta, can't you see both his hands on his back right before he kicks him? It is in your GIF, which by the way I love how you didn't show it from the more important perspective of where his leg actually makes contact with the kid's ribs. Shows how biased you are. Also, you're never going to win arguments by saying that people need to "man up".

Once again you fail to read my previous post where I state he did make contact, but his objective was to kick the ball from underneath his stomach. Why would he even want to hold him down? The kid wouldn't get up anyway! Btw, I don't care about winning arguments, I just want to support my statement and make sure it's a logical statement/arguments. Something your statements are.
