Those 25 minutes when France seemed untouchable reminded me of the World Cup and made me forget their horrible 1st half. Then 2 clever substitutions by Switzerland and maybe too much confidence once again. The same thing happened vs Argentina in 2018, France leading by 2 and almost letting the opponent equalise, also vs Croatia, suffering to avoid a comeback in the last minutes after Lloris' blunder.

France should never be world champ in the first place. Dive by griezmann for the free kick which they scored from and a penalty where the player couldn't gey his hand out of the way.

That's one way of putting it. A different one is that Perisic smashed the ball down like the images showed and Brozovic would have hacked Griezmann's ankle if he hadn't jumped. Croatia could hardly classify vs Russia while France eliminated several big favourites, scoring 11 goals in 4 games in the final round.

Mbappe is overrated, he looks like he's class only because he plays in a shit league. He'll flop in La Liga, Serie A or Premier League.

Three things we learned:

1) Curveball from Deschamps: For 45 minutes, France played with a back-three (for the first time all tournament) with midfielder Adrien Rabiot at left wing back. The tactical change appeared to break France’s rhythm as they got off to a shockingly slow start. Deschamps effectively admitted his error at halftime, as he brought off Clement Lenglet, who had a nightmare of a first half, for Kingsley Coman, thus returning to a four-man backline.

2) 25 minutes of French dominance: Did the change work? Did the change work? After a brief blip on the radar (penalty kick given away, but saved) to begin the second half, it was all France — and we do mean, it was all France — until Switzerland hit back out of nowhere 10 minutes before full-time. It’s probably worth noting once again that for all of the incredible talent France possess in their squad, Deschamps remains the greatest road block to winning a second straight major tournament. They seemingly won the 2018 World Cup despite his best efforts otherwise, but can they do it again?

3) In conclusion, absolute chaos: Upon retreating deeper and deeper as they tried to defend their two-goal lead, all France really did was give Switzerland just enough time and space in the middle third to retain the ball and progress it into the final third. The comeback goals came from a desperate cross and quickly played ball straight through the heart of midfield, and France were woefully unprepared to deal with either one.

Cool story bro.

4) France got beaten fair and square by Switzerland.

Let's not forget Switzerland had 3 days more to rest than France.
I am mentioning that coz it was obvious at end France could have killed the game but lack of stamina.
And coz the coach, we wasted one period ...

Congrats to the Swiss! We don't deserve to go through. Sad because I think we could have done way better given the quality. Sad for Pogba who played well all tournament and sad for Benzema who played his last euro most probably. Hate to be on the losing end of it but such upsets is what makes international tournaments so great. It really is a curse to be labeled as favourites, it gets to player's head.

Switzerland eliminated the World Cup champions, France. I am so proud of you Switzerland. All the opportunities Kylian had were not taken...this is what happens when you've been in Ligue 1 ever since 16 years old and you're 22 years old now, Kylian...you refuse to get better by leaving Ligue 1 and going to a tougher league like Premier League, LaLiga, Bundsliga or Serie A. Stay in Ligue 1 and you won't improve, Kylian until you finally leave Ligue 1.

@mirkivicinic If i play for France I would also win a world cup. If you play for France, you would also win a world cup. He plays for FRANCE, not an underdog national team. Stop with the world cup argument that leads no where. We're talking about his league career, playing for France alone guarantees him every single national trophy because France is no joke. League, on the other hand is a different story. He refuses to leave Ligue 1 because he knows he's way better than league 1 so it leads to easy money and no room for improvement as a professional footballer.

The team as a whole was shiiiite (with a very few exceptions like Pogba) but the greatest clown was Deschamp imo who decide on a never seen formation with players out of position everywhere which resulted in the worst 45mn I've ever seen I think

Destroyed? Not really. We got beaten, clearly. But we did it to ourselves by playing so freakin poorly. In any way, shape, or form, being beaten at penalties ain't being destroyed. We fucked up at all levels, but I don't think we lost cause switzerland was sooooo good. We lost cause we played sooooooo bad
