5 teams have the chance to win La Liga at the end of the season. I hope it will be us, if its not then i want it to be a surprise again just like last year.

This is going to be intense. 5-way title race after a quarter of the season through. La Liga is seriously intense right now. :D

Atletico Madrid and Valencia will be out after the first half of the season in my opinion.

The intense competition will die down by the end of the January transfer window and it will be Barcelona vs Madrid again. For now though, it's definitely exciting to watch.

It's a long run, so despite it might looks exciting, after January transfer window, may be 3 would stays and will be way a head of the rest. 2 will still be Barca & Real. Those 2 are really really strong.

Yeah you are probably right, but at least at this period of the year the winner is still not known yet at the difference of other leagues :)

It doesnt matter if they beated us, no team is safe from droping points, its not about who is stronger but who will have more points at the end, we can win by smalll margin and still get 3 pts.
Atletico did it last year, you dont need to be supesonic to win a league just consistent and motivated, but i agree Real Madrid have better chances in Cups ( Copa and CL ).
I still have hope, waiting for Barça-Atletico game, it will give many responses about the future.

I think Real Madrid will soon take over the table, with only barça chasing after them. The other teams won't be able to keep up and the title will be decided between the usual two clubs. And in my opinion Real Madrid will win it.

Lol it is only 9 games into the season , we have Borussia Monchengladbach and Hoffenheim challenging title in Bundesliga and Southampton , West ham , Swansea in EPL .

@tiki spot on even though Madrid drops points rarely like Barca , it still makes a huge difference when your rival has consistency. Not exactly same but Chelsea took out all the top teams in last season but still fell short to win the league .
Winning the league is not a sprint run in the Spring , but it is a marathon sprint till the end. Especially in La liga where Real , Barcelona and Atletico rarely drop points against other teams.

Chelsea were the best team in the EPL last season. Stupid dropped points cost them the title. They beat every team that was 'difficult', but failed to finish off the teams that are lower down in the table. :/

How does being in the top 6 after 9 games mean you're in the "title race"? Figures only people who somehow find rooting for Real Madrid to be exciting see something exciting in the table above.

@Gustavo

Is that supposed to be an insult to rile up Madrid supporters? LOL. We are free to support whichever club we wish. You cannot condemn us for supporting Real Madrid, just as how I can never condemn you for supporting Liverpool. :)

The exciting part is that, so far, the gap between 1st and 5th is only two points. That means that with the right combination of results, Barca can be 5th and Atletico 1st in the next weekend. :)

Right, and if we all pretend that actually means something then I can see where the excitement comes from.

@Gustavo

No need to pretend what it means. We can use elementary math to find out that 22-20 = 2. 2 point difference between 5th and 1st place is tense. At least for now. It will most likely disappear some 25 games into the season, but it is tense for now. Just how no one expected Atletico to push all the way to the title last season, we hope that something similar happens with Real, Atletico, Barca, Valencia, and Sevilla this season. :)

It's that little bit of hope that La Liga fans have. The hope that there is competition to Real and Barca. No more duopoly. We want competition. We want to be like the EPL was 4-5 years ago.
