It's a neck-to-neck competition. It's difficult to compare top tier teams over the years because they are constantly changing. Really difficult to judge Bayern's record against English and Spanish competition because one season they thrash Barca 7-0, next season they get thrashed by Real 5-0. Very difficult to judge them by that alone.

It's a neck-to-neck competition. It's difficult to compare top tier teams over the years because they are constantly changing. Really difficult to judge Bayern's record against English and Spanish competition because one season they thrash Barca 7-0, next season they get thrashed by Real 5-0. Very difficult to judge them by that and by their record over English competition. And that's because their record against the English is spread over some 7-8 years like butter over toast.

If you want to compare just one season, then you can say that Real Madrid thrashed every German team they faced, therefore Madrid > all of Bundesliga.
