"2 point difference between 5th and 1st place is tense. It will most likely disappear some 25 games into the season"

"tense"? "TENSE"? Your stupid emoticons after every comment make me more tense than that table up there.

I.... am being criticized for using emoticons. ._.

It's okay, if this was the EPL you'd probably consider it very tense. But alright, whatever floats your boat.

Manchester City had the ability to dominate small teams, and they won thanks to that.
This year, Chelsea doesnt seem having much trouble against small teams, Fabregas presence in the midlefield in addition to Matic and Hazard is giving them power. Does it mean PL small teams are weak ? No.
Villareal and Sevilla beat English teams each time they met, Bilbao were having a good run too, Malaga are very dificult to beat at home, Atletico are still strong and they will show it in CL, i really think the theory of PL having stronger teams is nonsense. You should go and see the latest confrontations results between midtable teams of each country.
Most of la liga players deliver first year, while the opposite move needs adaptation, i dont think Hull City is better than Real Sociedad for example.
I only remember Middlesbrough reaching EL final in 2006 defeated by Sevilla by the way.

Bilbao is comming for CL battle, 7 pts in the 3 last games and a beatiful display against Sevilla (1-0).
Atletico was ruled out quickly, despite winning Super Copa and Beating Madrid twice and a draw in 3 games this season.
Valencia looks strong, Barça will fight till the end, im hoping so. Celta just defeated us in Camp Nou, Malaga are dangerous at home, Villareal are solid team, Rayo played some good posession Football, they got very skilfull players.

This is the best start of the season in Spain, well many rule out Sevilla and Valencia but they are still there, and if they fail to follow top 3 incredible form, they will decide the title in respective confrontations.

lol reason some teams are at top with barcelona is because barcelona not as good this year as old times. madrid will win league this year, as they are only world class team in spain right now.

to dynastian98 --- big difference is that this is what epl like every season, not just one season to make you excited. la liga fans always think when something good happen in spain that it shows spanish league is best, when it happen all the time in other leagues.

IF you take out Messi and Ronaldo , but even just one of them out of the La liga , it will look a lot like Scotish League. I tried watching La Liga , but it is just plain boring ... and I only check highlights when Atletico , Barca or Madrid plays .

And Sudden competitiveness this year after 10 games has happened every year .Not a new thing . Just wait another 10 matches . This will all change dramatically .

Marcus you are ignorant, sorry but true. Keep watching EPL and CL until quarters ;) EL no forget about no midtable PL team isnt consistent enough to compete.
Southampton is doing better than all your overpaid bunch of unskilfull English players, except few names.

The average English player is painful to watch, thats the truth.

For the transfer, PL could only sign unwanted players of Barça/Real, buy players from midtable teams, Negredo Navas ( sevilla), Cazorla (Malaga), Silva, Mata ( Valencia)...

Its funny how Ayoze from Tenerife B is doing awesome in this mighty league.

Watch out for Liverpool tomorrow, Relegated Liga teams did better against Madrid, 3 goals away in halftime, lucky enough they had to deal with Clasico.
Last year, the relegated Betis went into EL quarters only loosing to Sevilla, Valencia went to semi only loosing to Sevilla, Barça defeated City 4-1 only loosing to Atleti only loosing to Madrid.
That means for the 7 teams involved in Europe, only Sociedad were eleminated by a non Spanish team.

Im not saying that Liga is dominating, im asking PL fans to temper their non-sense claims or at least give an argument.
Then you will say PL have money, yes but dont remember that QPR budget is bigger than Atleti's.

Everyone can be the next Dortmund, the next Atleti, if they gave it all on the pitch, go So'ton.

To be honest, La Liga is actually a little boring in general but thats not the point of this thread.

It depends on what you like to watch regarding football, not every spanish team plays the same. I actually enjoy watching Barcelna or Sevilla's games.

As for the table, Im just hoping it stays like that for as long as possible. The two horse race has killed La Liga's excitement for years now (with last year's exception). It would be nice to have a different winner or at least a very close finish.

@Marcus

You find La Liga boring, but that isn't factual. It's simply your opinion. La Liga fans are aplenty in this world, and we find it to be the most entertaining league in the world.

Saying that La Liga would be "like the Scottish league if you took one of Messi or Ronaldo out of it" is absurd. I don't care if you find La Liga boring. Fact is: it was a La Liga team that knocked you guys out of the Champions League last year, and if you find their playing style to be "boring", then you should hear my opinion on Chelsea's "boring" Champions League campaign in 2012.

See what I mean? It's completely opinionated. Doesn't matter if I think Chelsea was boring in 2012: fact is that they won the Champions League, and no one can take that away from them. In the same way, it doesn't matter if you think La Liga is boring or if you believe that it only constitutes of Messi and Ronaldo. Most of the world thinks otherwise. And we know that La Liga isn't just Messi and Ronaldo. Even without one of them, Madrid and Barca would still be insanely dangerous.

"Southampton is doing better than all your overpaid bunch of unskilfull English players, except few names.:

Not sure if we are talking about English players or league ?

It is 10 games into the season , and Southampton has not faced anyone from the top yet . So your argument is really ignorant on this one .

"Negredo Navas ( sevilla), Cazorla (Malaga), Silva, Mata ( Valencia)..."

Those guys are unwanted ? Apparently, they are needed in Spains national team often as starting players ...

"Its funny how Ayoze from Tenerife B is doing awesome in this mighty league."

I call it excellent scouting . It will be even funnier if that kid develops into top player ( and so far looks like a great potential ) and Barcelona or Real will bid on him with huge amount like always .

"Watch out for Liverpool tomorrow, Relegated Liga teams did better against Madrid, 3 goals away in halftime, lucky enough they had to deal with Clasico. "

Relegated teams were doing much better against Liverpool in 2007 but they still put 5 goals past multi billion dollar team Real Madrid on aggregate . This argument does not make sense . CL is taken far more serious by teams . Prime example is Borrussia Dortmund . Sucks in Bundesliga but fantastic in CL. or Manchester City suchs in CL but fantastic in EPL.

"Last year, the relegated Betis went into EL quarters only loosing to Sevilla, Valencia went to semi only loosing to Sevilla, Barça defeated City 4-1 only loosing to Atleti only loosing to Madrid.
That means for the 7 teams involved in Europe, only Sociedad were eleminated by a non Spanish team."

This year finally Epl teams will care about EL , because now it grants them ticket to CL . EL is still a joke though in the eyes of top many top teams of Europe. Money wise and prestige wise still not convincing EPL mid teams to take it seriously . Everton and Spurs seemed to be doing just fine , so hopefully this year , they will approach it differently due to new rules that grants winner spot in CL.

Plus do I need to remind about EPL schedule ? Toughest in the world for sure . La liga teams are enjoying winter break , epl does not even know what break means .

However, you are right , La Liga teams never took that competition for granted and performed well. Beggars can't be choosers.

"Im not saying that Liga is dominating, im asking PL fans to temper their non-sense claims or at least give an argument."

And I am also not saying that PL is dominating , but asking La Liga fans to relax with non sense that their league is just as entertaining and competitive .

"Then you will say PL have money, yes but dont remember that QPR budget is bigger than Atleti's."

Really ? Comparing QPR budget with Atletis ? Really ?

"If Barça/Real were in PL, teams like City or Liverpool would be fighting for EL."

If Barca and Real were in EPL they would never be so strong and rich monopolizing the league and even Europe . That is a fact .

La Liga clubs can barely gather few millions to buy a descent player so they have to rely fully on scouts looking for cheap player and academies . While Barca and Real enjoying political support , tv rights support and financial advantage over other clubs. Huge advantage . EPL - one of the only top leagues where money is fairly distributed to each club and politics don't mix with football.

This argument once again is silly .

@dynastian98

Good for you guys .

But ... ehh my opinion or not but major world broadcasters seem to disagree with La liga being as most entertaining league in the world . I speak several languages and EPL dominates in all of those countries by ratings.

I find Bundesliga more interesting . Like the speed and direct football. Similar to EPL .

Not going to go into CL who knocked out and who and blah blah , it will be way out of topic.

Lol So PL teams doesnt take EL seriously ? Well its funny from a Chelsea fan :).
And for competitivity, i know la ligue 1 players very well and all prefer England because they adapt quicker and its easier to shine in an individual level.
The best French players are : Varane, Benzema, Griezmann, Ribery, Pogba and none of them developped in PL thankufully i want to say.
When the physical treats the technical by boring, there is nothing to understand after.

PL has better off pitch rivalries/banter...., when it comes to pitch matters, its completely different.

Lol yeah exactly , Chelsea got into in later stages of EL after embarrassingly being knocked out of the CL . We needed to prove a point . It would have been embarrassing for CL title holder to loose out again , so we took serious enough and won it . It is more a circumstantial and physiological thing .

After researching little more I found out that overall, Europa League only hurts EPL clubs in domestic competitions . If you notice Everton and Spurs rotate a lot !! Everton was rotating against Lille in away match . It would probably make more sense to field strong line up against third best team in France but Everton did not think to risk domestic standing.

You need to read few studies on how EL affect on EPL club's domestic standings and success .

Zidane never went to PL If this was your question and stop living in the past we are in 2014. If English teams are raped in EL thats their problem no matter what excuse they have.
Since Mourinho is a god for you, please tell me how many PL player did he signed since he came back from Spain ? From where did he sign last transfer window ?

You was wrog about Costa because you never watch Football, i do it regularly. So you can understand that you are still wrong do you ?

I just saw the odds of Madrid-Liverpool : 1.24 for Madrid win 6 for a potential draw +9 for a red miracle, fair enough ?

"Zidane never went to PL "

Henry, Vieira, Pires, Barthez, Desailly, Petit, Makelele and Wiltord all DID. That was your best team, ever.

"If English teams are raped in EL thats their problem no matter what excuse they have.":

They don't CARE. When is this ever going to sink in? We don't give a sh.it about the EL. The only reason Spanish teams care about it so much is because they have ZERO chance of winning their league, and other than Atletico recently tend to go out in the first round of the CL nearly every time. English clubs have more ambition.

By contrast? Arsenal, everyone's favorite punchline when it comes to English teams in the CL, have been busy in recent years beating Bayern Munich, AWAY, alongside City and Chelsea.

"From where did he sign last transfer window ?"

From the team who tamed the entire Spanish league using the tactics HE taught them. Costa was the most obvious choice in the world for a new striker, Courtois they already owned, and Felipe Luis is just a great player. You'll notice, however, that all the OTHER great left-backs in the world were not available.

By the way? From where did BARCELONA sign their latest superstar? From where did REAL MADRID sign Bale and Modric, who managed to do what Ozil and di Maria hadn't managed to do before them? Because, you see, back when Ozil was at Madrid, people like YOU said he was clearly one of the best in the world, simply because he played in Spain.

Then. when he (and eventually di Maria a year later) got replaced by two players bought from Tottenham Hotspur, who didn't even make the Top 4 in England and yet VASTLY improved Real-*******-Madrid, you simply pretended as though he was suddenly crap.

Why? Because you can't admit that YOU were wrong.

"You was wrog about Costa because you never watch Football, i do it regularly."

You were never 'right' about Costa, because what you actually said was that he was clearly the best striker in the world aside from Messi and Ronaldo. You were wrong then, and you would still be wrong now, if you said it today. People like me and Marcus pointed out that Suarez and Aguero were better than Costa, and they both still are, to be perfectly honest. So is Ibrahimovic, Muller and Lewandowski.

Costa was lucky enough to join Mourinho. Notice how he has slowed down a little bit, recently, too?

Where is Negredo, btw? Where is Michu? Where is Aspas? Oh, yeah, they all started having trouble once the English defenses started figuring out how to stop them.

Are you ever going to stop being wrong?

Then. when he (and eventually di Maria a year later) got replaced by two players bought from Tottenham Hotspur, who didn't even make the Top 4 in England and yet VASTLY improved Real-fucking-Madrid, you simply pretended as though he was suddenly crap.
