@Lodatz i dont know what you expect for your team ? You would kill to see Spurs have our results this season, and next year is a new year, Madrid had the same trophyless season with your Mourinho and finished on top of Europe this year, we are talking about Barça/Madrid/Bayern not an championship team, you guys have some points but exagerating the facts...
If we compare to 2009 results, we have a bad season, but lets compare our results to other big teams with a new coach, we had the same season as Chelsea, a better season Than United wich are considered as big teams, Barça also had brilliant games like Chelsea winning 6-0 to Celtic and having some good performences, but couple of key games decided our season.

We were almost La liga champions this year, some tend to forget it.

Next year, we will have a new coach and a new players so you would be stupid if you are waiting to see Barça of 2009.

Is the point going to sink in, at any time, that Barcelona are simply not the best any longer, not that they are crap?

Is the point going to sink in, at any time, that Spain's reliance upon the Barcelona midfield has rendered them also no longer the best, even though they clearly are not crap?

You seem to be most offended by the idea that Barcelona shouldn't be considered the best team in the world, despite them having won nothing this year and been knocked out of the CL every year since 2011. Perhaps you're just insecure about your team?

Either way, it's your problem, not a problem with the facts. Spain needs to change, or else they're going to crash out hard. The ethos which helped Guardiola conquer the world is not working any longer, either for the team he built (Barca), the team he's inherited (Bayern), or the team he inspired (Del Bosque's Spain)

At least, not against the best of other leagues, or other international heavyweights. I wonder how yesterday's Spain would have fared against Germany. I suspect it would have been even worse.

Anyhow. Off to bed. Hopefully someone else can resurrect this thread from the distractions.

No, I am not offended, we lost fair and square, if you had time to hear my point, i am admiting that Madrid teams were better than Barça this year, there is no offense to say that, thats the truth despite our home and away wins against Madrid.
You ignore intentially Messi injury, Neymar issues, Valdez injury and many out of pitch problems that couldnt be an excuse but explains at time why we lost points in the league or why we had a less competitive team in a key game, Valdez injury for me ended the season, despite our poor defending, our win against City and away against Madrid showed that we could have a small change of achieving something....
Im not offended by our results, and im not claiming that we have the best team, actually we havent, i wonder where you saw this...
You are too proud to admit things, so you decide to disappear, i always stay and congratulate the rival, this year it was Atletico and Real Madrid, but we werent that far as you think we are, dont have a selective memory...

A Chelsea fan could understand the mixed feelings i have on this season, we saw that there is no end of ERA because many positive things were still there, and we werent able to compete at the end because of injuries and lack of quality players at the back and goal.

For Spain against Germany, wait we could see it its not over yet, I want to see Spain - England, this could be a funny one.

Expert dont you say this When Barça lost to bayern ? Then you lost to Barça twice this year, i guarantee you, you will have to say this more times again.
Lets not talk about Casillas and Ramos mistakes, lets no talk about Piqué bad game or the wrong substitution, lets not talk about players aging, lets just talk about the end of Tiki taka.

The style of play, doesnt end with a player, many were formed or bought and were able to win silverwares with this philosophy.
We might not win the treble, due to the big level of competition, but other players are arriving, we will find a balance and things would change in the future hopefully...

Robben was on fire yesterday! One of his best national performances ever. And RVP's header, how does someone even manage to head it like that? One off the greatest World Cup matches we will ever see.

i agree with tiki, it was the team that lost not tiki taka, thtas like judgeing the style counter attack bucause a team that played that style were in really bad condition and lost, and even if it was the tiki taka that was bad you cant draw conclussion after one game, this is football...

That second half performance from the Dutch, bloody hell.

@gunner and that second half performance from Spain, bloody hell..... Ramos played like a demon for madrid in the CL this year, and for the world cup he turns into mickael sylvestre lol. And on top of that Piqué was doing his best Squillaci impression. But I take nothing away from the dutch, they were just amazing. And RVP and Robben ? It's hard to say who was better. They really were on their best game yesterday.

Haha, I cant believe we used to have players like Sylvestre and Squillaci... but yeah, the Dutch really surprised me because I thought Spain would just edge them but boy did they show me, and the world.

Vlaar at the back was a monster!!

@gunner exactly, and Blind is creating some excitement on r/soccer as well. Wenger on french tv talked really highly of him, he's a holding midfielder, maybe he's looking into him ?? One can hope.

Ramos and Pique was hailed by many as best defenders in the world . I always thought they were overrated and bloody fck , yesterday it was shown why !! Absolutely no sense of tactical positioning in back lines . I don't know how Ramos is captain in Real Madrid but he is clueless when it comes to commanding backline ! Puyol must have been crying from pain, because it was painful to watch .

And Casillas , no comment on Casillas , just watch the replays , he was mediocre .

@marcus Ramos had an amazing season. He's undoubtedly one of the best. And the fact that he scores important goals makes him even more important to his teams. Piqué I don't know what to think of him.

I'm curious though: Can Diego Costa still make a shift to the Netherlands, or is it too late to change now?

@Tiki
ok mate, but why you keep talking about Barcelona instead of the Spanish national team? for example what would be your starting XI? you know i'm one of those that says that Spain has marvellous players and lot can be achieved still. but NOT with the same old leitmotiv.

quote:
"i believe they cant do better than wha they already achieved, 2 euros and 1 world cup in a row, what nobody has achieved in the whole Football History..."

Italy ad Brazil were able to win 2 WC in a row.
