End of tiki tala. I love Spain but all that passing isn't going to get you anywhere. I felt that the players lacked freedom. Azpilicueta for example has a lot more freedom to run up at Chelsea, and I also think that Busquests should be replaced by Fabregas, and Koke should feature.

Costa doesn't fit into tiki itaka and Torres isn't that good.

Iniesta was still class today. Xavi created a few chances. David Silva was less than optimal. Bad day.

I thought the match was even in the first half, and Spain had a few more chances than the Dutch. Second half, the Dutch dominated the match. I think after Silva missed that chip, and RVP scored that first goal, a clear spring in the step could be noticed; the Dutch played with conviction. Casillas made mistakes that were clearly due to lack of match practice. He was lucky Athletico did not score in that final on his mistakes, but the Dutch deserve the credit for this. Well played Orange, well played!

Torres did a Torres here :), end of tiki taka ? How many time i heard this ? They can loose a competition they are not gods and they failde defensively, Van Gaal and Kluivert has past enough years at Barcelona to bring a brilliant tactic.
Spain seems tired and not contending for anything, it happens to loose in Football.

Back to the game.

I think this result was refreshing. Football needs games like this once in a while. Must say Spain started the game stronger. After they got the penalty (which I believe was a dive) they had alot of momentum. It looked like the flood gates were going to open.Silva missed a great chance which would have taken the game even further away from the Dutch. The RVP header just before the end of the 1st half knocked the wind out of Spain.

The 2nd half The Netherlands came out with a vengeance. Terrible defensive and goalkeeping errors made the score worse than it would have been. Casillas and Pique should be dropped for the next game. Very poor performance from them.
