Club Statement

Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have today parted company by
mutual consent.

All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he
returned as manager in the summer of 2013.

His three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cup
wins over two spells make him the most successful manager in our
110-year history. But both Jose and the board agreed results have not
been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests
of both parties to go our separate ways.

The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us on good terms and will
always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at
Chelsea. His legacy at Stamford Bridge and in England has long been
guaranteed and he will always be warmly welcomed back to Stamford
Bridge.

The club’s focus is now on ensuring our talented squad reaches its
potential.

There will be no further comment until a new appointment is made.

Apparently Mou had breakfast at a luxury hotel with Hiddink yesterday giving him advice and information about the players. Mourinho was the one who took initiative to this. Afterwards he laughed it off when media asked him if he felt betrayed by Chelsea. How can anyone dislike this guy?

After reading all the comments, I have to say I'm with the Chelsea fans on this one. Perhaps what Chelsea needs is a change of identity? Mourinho was a huge part of Chelsea's previous identity, and now it seems as if Mou will never be coming back. Maybe by changing the identity of the club, a new manager can instill the mentality that SAF had at United - no player is above the club. You want a club full of Lampards and Terrys, not Hazards and Costas. Players need to bleed for the badge for the club to experience success...

Basically Chelsea's set of players have a mentality similar to Real Madrid's right now. What you want is a set of players who have the mentality of Atletico Madrid or Barcelona...

Are there any clubs that would employ him now, as opposed to after the season? I can't think of any big ones off the top of my head. /sun

So, some time has passed with Mou as manager of Manchester United. I reckon you all are quite happy with him? Sure, only 6th in the league, but things are looking good for the club again I reckon. In hindsight, who could have known we would get a manager like Conte.. He was just the perfect replacement of Mou.. Who could have known that Chelsea and him would be such a match. Very happy about that.

We are happy now.

MU now enter the game and we know we are gonna win.

Mourinho has changed though. More reasonable, less mouthy, morr reasonable with squad... we are yet to see bigger challenge but we are happy. Compare to the last 5 years. Yes

He has changed, or perhaps you got another perspective of him now? Hopefully he'll get to stay in united for along time

Eh, I prefer Conte in every aspect. Mourinho has still fired cheap shots at Chelsea on every occasion. Like he said about Lampard when he left for Manchester City:

When he decided to go to a direct competitor then love stories are over

Agree 100% with tuan,

I think the experience at Chelsea last season humbled him a bit. He seems to understand a bit better that having the support of the players and board is just as important as having a positive relationship with the fans. We have seen him leave some players out to dry, but most of those have already been back in the starting 11 so clearly his man management is still quite good.

Conte is having a good honeymoon period at Chelsea, but I am still more curious as to what happens long term, I put much of his success down to his formation and his inability to adapt has cost him before. One of the reasons why I'm so happy with Mou is that he feels like a long-term answer, nothing about this situation suggests a 2-3 year stint. United fans under the age of 30 have basically only had one manager their entire lives, so we're not accustomed to the ring-around-the-rosy that occurs on the managerial seat.

Hahahah mourinho has changed lmao he hasn't changed one bit, still the same old hypocrite he is right? I mean thats what everybody was saying when he was at chelsea.
Funny how the media isn't focused on him as he was at chelsea but I'm not surprised because most of the people in the media are deluded Liverpool and united fans.

@sunflash conte started with 4-3-3 and then adapted to 3-4-3 , mourinho on the other hand always plays with 4-2-1-3 and with the squad he has he should be at the topt of the table.
I reckon mourinho to be sacked after 2years.

Still obsessing over your perceived victimhood I see. Never change.
