Official: Mourinho leaves Chelsea "by mutual consent"

Club Statement

Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have today parted company by
mutual consent.

All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he
returned as manager in the summer of 2013.

His three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cup
wins over two spells make him the most successful manager in our
110-year history. But both Jose and the board agreed results have not
been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests
of both parties to go our separate ways.

The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us on good terms and will
always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at
Chelsea. His legacy at Stamford Bridge and in England has long been
guaranteed and he will always be warmly welcomed back to Stamford
Bridge.

The club’s focus is now on ensuring our talented squad reaches its
potential.

There will be no further comment until a new appointment is made.

I knew there was something between him and some key players, Like Madrid saga in 2013. Abrahamovic would have t choose between selling his key players for half of their value or sack their manager.
When players doesnt want to make efforts for you there is nothing to do, i think sacking Mou is way easier for a board to start a rebuilding wich could cost 300M at the moment to build a title contender team wich is the ambition of Chelsea.

Im not really happy that he got sacked despite not liking him, i respect him for his Palmares and achievements... Then you can jump at me say how can you know that the dressing room is no longer backing him, for me its just obvious considering the team performences.

In the other thread some people accused me of not watching Chelsea's games and stating that Mou tried all the possible tactis, my only answer would be to watch a Chelsea game in replay and count the number of players who get into the penalty era while attacking... As a coach, if i saw my back 4 in a bad form, well i would conclude that the best way to defend is to attack rather than keep this chess game trying to find a weakness from the rival team tactic starting from the back.

Frustrated and most of all disappointed.
In my country they say when you repeat your mistakes you are just dumb.
Thats how I feel about our club management right now. We should have kept Jose at all costs because players come and go but WORLD CLASS managers are rare species. Good luck on your next football journey Jose! Thank you for everything you done for us and our club!

EDIT: To most people who disagree with our blind trust towards Mourinho I am sorry guys only few teams in this beautiful sport have such bonds with some of their managers. Mouringo established a legacy and thanks to him we are considered England's and Europe's football GIANTS, the LEAST we could do was to show him faith and as previously stated by someone I would prefer relegation with Mourinho than reaching top4 somehow with any other manager.

I understand how you guys feel about Mourinho. It's easy for Arsenal and United fans to ridicule, as our managers haven't won us anything recently (or in United's case, ever), but Mourinho was Chelsea. If Fergie had ever had a similar start to a season, you'd see all the United fans defending him too, simply because he is part of our identity as fans.

I gathered from the comments Mourinho made when he returned to Chelsea that he wanted to be "that guy" for Chelsea, and not for any short period of time either. Those managers are rare, and when you have them, you keep them. Look at all the big clubs and the manager turnover rate in them. If you can keep hold of one guy for more than a few years it's unusual. Mourhino wanted to be that guy for Chelsea. And as happy as I am that United won't have to face a Chelsea team under Mourinho, I am sad for him as a person, to make that commitment and then have it torn from you.

We can argue if it was the players, manager, or management that caused this problem, but in the end, someone has lost a job and a dream, a dream he shared with most of Chelsea's fanbase. And I honestly feel sorry for both groups.

" I would prefer relegation with Mourinho than reaching top4 somehow with any other manager." That's bs, does Mourinho mean more than the club?

@sun +1

@quick Who are you to call bs on my feelings towards our manager and club?

@everyone Anyways, understandably the players have faced the brunt of the blame for the season from the fans. A team that won the league comfortably last season with a total of 87 points and only 3 defeats should not have lost 9 games in 16 games. It is rather saddening that a significant proportion of the squad just don’t care about the club or our now former manager. For players who are earning over a 100,000 a week to not even act professionally and give their all to the cause, is quite frankly disgraceful.

I’m very upset that he’s gone. We’ve lost one of the best managers in the world, and although I’m unsure whether he’s capable of being a successful long-term manager, he should have at least been given the chance to prove he could be. A couple of signings and departures in January would have given the squad new energy and a squad that might actually implement Jose’s tactics. Now we’re faced with the prospect of having Guus hiddink as a manager, who although being successful in the past has quite clearly struggled in recent years. This decision could prove to be for the best but after all he’s done for the club, Jose should have been given to the end of the season to rectify the situation. The only certainty now is that we’ve lost our greatest ever manager and an all time Chelsea hero. Farewell Jose, you will be very missed.

I'm not talking anything about your feelings to your club.
Your manager got half a year to fix the problems, yet he still used the same players, same formation, same tactics, where you all blamed him for that. Now you're suddenly all standing behind him. Your main players started to have problems with him, not the first time that happen to Mourinho right? Fired physio, blamed probably everyone except himself. And now you're all blaming the players which under performed. Why he didn't used another players? Why don't try young players to play? Why play the players who don't want to play for you, or your style of the game? Who put them again, again and again into starting XI? Your beloved Mourinho.
Imagine you being a manager of a big club like that, pumping millions into the club, you expect something to return I guess. And with the squad you have, you probably wouldn't like to watch relegation battle.
I'm not going to say that it was right decision to sack him, but you're still blindly following this guy who is like a god for you.

Jose Mourinho also apparently went back to finish training after he had been sacked. Mourinho then left the club in tears, hiding his face from all cameras leaving Cobham.

Jose Mourinho spotted leaving Cobham training ground for the last time ever. Mou leaving

Terry was reportedly furious with the decision..
Terry furious with the decision..

One good thing though.. Arsene Wenger still haven't defeated Mourinho in the Premier League.
Wenger sad..

I saw this coming, but I didn't see it coming this fast.

I think it's a mistake, despite understanding that it's reasonable to certain extends. Another reason I think it's a mistake is there is not much coach is suitable for Chelsea ATM, especially those players.... A new coach can bring fresh and more decent results (I doubt it would be much improvement), but for how long?

Mou should have been kept and supported more (not only by the fans), wait and see if he can change the situation, you guys are already out of the title race, how much worse can it get? and how much improvement can be done? Let him finish and improve, he hit the bottom and he can only bounce back.

Nevertheless, I feel sad.

Mou, please stay in EPL :(

@quikzyyy No? I believe my clubs future would be brighter with someone like Mourinho. I put my hand on fire that Chelsea would never drop from BPL under Mourinho even at this situation. Also how do I know if the players dislike our upcoming manager or the new that we will hire after the season ends? and you call that bs? Your fans shouting Wenger out are bs.

Quikzy I would write a long paragraphs to answer you but i am so lucky that Piers Morgan is pissed as much I am and wrote exactly what many Chelsea fans think . Never thought I would agree with Piers Morgan 1005%

I just hate the fact that you all lay it into one man when those over paid fckers should be fired rather a man who DID not SLEEP worrying for our club ! That is how much he loves us ! I saw Fabregas and Hazard they looked fresher than ever before .

Joey Barton said " ... Actually surprised Chelsea sacked Mourinho. Still top 3 in the World for me. Can only let him go if you have chance of the other two. "

Jose Mourinho isn’t just a winner. He’s THE winner of the modern game.
" This is still a manager who won Chelsea the Premier League title just SIX MONTHS AGO, for God’s sake!

What kind of insanity determines that a man with such a prolific record of success, who is in charge of the REIGNING CHAMPIONS, is thrown into the gutter after the first difficult patch he’s ever endured as manager?

To put this nonsensical decision into perspective, consider the status of the aforementioned Arsene Wenger, who hasn’t won the Premier League for 11 years and has never won the Champions League, but is widely lauded as an unsackable genius.

I don’t know what’s gone wrong at Chelsea, but I do know this: Jose Mourinho didn’t suddenly go from the best manager in the world to the worst.

If you want to blame anyone for their disintegration, then why not start with the players? A more arrogant, haughty, over-paid bunch of spoiled prima donnas it would be hard to find in the annals of the game.

Each week, after more and more defeats, we’d read leaks from this group of under-performing reptiles informing us that it was all Mourinho’s fault.

He’d ‘lost the dressing room’ apparently.

Really?

Or could it be that many of these so-called superstars had lost their heart, their hunger, their bottle and their commitment?

Remember that these guys each get paid up to £200,000 a WEEK to kick a football.

The very least their fans might expect for that is that they give every game 100%.

But no, we even heard that certain players were feigning injuries because they refused to play under Mourinho.

Imagine the sheer , breathtaking audacity of that attitude?

No wonder he finally snapped and publicly berated the treacherous ‘rats’ in his midst.

Football managers who don’t win enough games for long periods of time deserve the sack.

But managers like Mourinho, whose win ratio is so stupendous that it dwarfs almost any of their rivals, have earned the right to more time and to more loyalty from their players.

Tonight, Chelsea announced his replacement until the end of the season is Dutchman Guus Hiddink – the manager who presided over Holland’s recent disastrous Euro 2016 campaign.

If he’s a better bet to revive the club than Mourinho, then I’m Darth Vader.

Football has been descending into the abyss of greed, corruption, selfishness and impatience for years now.

But it wasn’t until today that I genuinely shook my head in wonderment at how stupid it has become.

Shame on you Chelsea for what you’ve done to Jose Mourinho today.

And shame on all football fans who see his demise as something to celebrate.

He will be a massive loss to our League and we will all, whether we admit or not, miss him enormously as a personality.

As for Chelsea’s players, doubtless many of whom are popping open their Cristal tonight, I have one thought for them: isn’t it time managers were given the right to sack THEM when they persistently fail to play to the standards expected of them?

That might take the smug little smirks off their pampered little Ferrari-driving faces. "

Thiery Henry and Now Piers Morgan . I am glad these man have more sense in their heads than so called football fans .

and Yeah we will go talking about Wenger . I respect Wenger but to go 11 years with league title but you defend him . And again looks like you going to have same season as all the previous 11 years . Yet , here you are blaming Mourinho for going without title for 6 months !!!! That is nuts !!!
