Also, you guys do realize that 2Pac was shot in gang-related drama, right?

Basically the world as a whole is getting worse, because we keep telling ourselves that the West is to blame for everyone else's problems. They're not, and in fact the West offers the way forward, for any nation who wants to actually drag themselves out of whatever despotic, theocratic grip still holds sway over their society. The more that we, in the West, keep trying to tear it down through misunderstanding of history, the worse that life in the West will become.

The West represents freedom, equality, democracy, secularism, science and civil rights. That's why we have those things, in fact. Aside from the concept of freedom, all these things are Western inventions, and they are the reason we have such an interconnected, relatively peaceful world to begin with.

Tale the West away, and you'd simply plunge the world back into the grip of dictators, religious extremism and slavery. That's why so many places who reject Western values still have those problems.

Also, you guys do realize that 2Pac was shot in gang-related drama, right?

Basically, we need to stop letting the West become non-Western. The less Western we become, the more we slip back into tyranny and religious extremism, and that includes the development of corporate oligarchs.

Capitalism needs to be tempered by Western values, like socialism and secularism, or else it merely becomes the tyranny of property. In the US, the political arena is bought and sold by corporate interests, now.

Capitalism needs to be tempered by Western values, like socialism and secularism, or else it merely becomes the tyranny of property. In the US, the political arena is bought and sold by corporate interests, now. The media is owned by literally only 5 companies, who all constantly tell you how outraged you should be at the Other Side, whomever that should be. Social Media encourages us to prolong high-school, and engage in popularity cliques rather than develop oneself as an individual.

It's all bullshit, and we keep letting it happen because we're constantly distracted by minor, petty bullshit.

Don't wanna make this thread off-topic but I still think Suge killed Pac, Pac wanted to get out of DRR and Suge wouldn't want that to happen, he wouldn't have the man who brought him most of his money. If he really killed him, he didn't lose anything, he made more money of him. Now I don't really have time to write all what I think about it, but feel free to come to my wall it you wanna talk about it more.

@Tiki @Croattian.

I think the world has always been mad. It’s maybe more noticeable today. And I think it will go on like that. While I would like to make some changes here there, I can only really control how I feel and what I do.

Also I had been listening to a lot of PAC just by chance. I don’t really look into the conspiracy theories as such but I could listen the mans interviews all day. I guess we all have someone who pushes the envelope in the family and he was just that, grew up on streets and spoke his mind to what he saw. At only 25 years His music lives on.

@Quikzy,
“Don't be the one who will say 10 years from now: I should have tried that, but I didn't because I was afraid. Set your goals, work towards them, do something you want to be remembered for. In the end you always go back where you belong.“

What comes from dust returns to dust. You are right. I’m only here for a short time on Earth. I definitely have one or two things I can do before the world and time can have me. Think you hit nail on head with that last para.

Sincerely,

Ledley.

I might be a bit late to make any additions but I could maybe give some advice that are taken from my own experiences.

Being in a relationship with someone is first of all a sacrifice... Love and happiness are usually the fruit of hard labor and compromising, from both parts. I've been in love with dozens of girls, got my heart "broken" two times... but in the end realized that the true love of your life is the one you will happily spend a lifetime with. In other words it's next to impossible to know if your partner is THE one... or if there is anyone that will be. So instead you should take one day at a time and "Carpe diem". I've been married for 6 years and together with my partner for 10 years... and at one point it's not as special anymore as when it was new and fresh. The thing is that after some time together with someone, it becomes so full of routines. And when you get kids, that's when your life with your partner makes the biggest transformation. It's not about YOU anymore, it's about your kids... and your partner becomes secondary because of your responsibilities as a parent. THEREFORE you have to make yourself happy and never expect the presence of a partner (or friends) be the source of your happiness. Look inside yourself and try to find meanings with life... If it's hard, do like I do sometimes... Have a look at those suffering from wars, famine, human trafficking etc. It sounds like a cliché, but is very effective when you get close to it. When you think about it, it won't do much but if you get close to those people even if your heart was made of stone it will feel compassion and sadness for others fate. Your own happiness will be put in a larger context. When you know that at this moment there are 5 year old girls getting raped in dark basements due to paedophilic sex-industry, villages burnt down because of insignificant political reasons, street children sniffing glue to relief their pain from hunger and agony, mothers/fathers giving away their own children in markets to strangers so they can get food... then your heart will be filled with more humility. Send money, even if it's not much. To a project where they dig wells in poor countries. Or send money that will pay for an orphans school and correspond with each other. You will get unconditioned love back! And please don't stop doing sports, even if it is alone in the gym... because it will make your body more tired and you will get to sleep better and think less... it clears your mind, better than no sports at all. Or do yoga... it might sound silly but it can help you to relax. Sometimes to find a meaning with life is to just not think too much of it. Let it come to you, don't chase it.... There is so much more I would love to share, but it is getting too long. Cheer up, there's always FR ;)

Look inside yourself and try to find meanings with life

This. As I have never experienced such a relationship before and I finally found something different, so special. Basically she made me the happiest person on earth just by smiling. Worst is, once you're without that person you start to feel empty no matter what you do. You need to find something what makes you happy, not her, simply something which makes you being you again.

While having the happiness in different person seems awesome, you still need to stay you, have your own hobbies, your own life, don't put everything into other person, because if something happens and that person won't be here for you anymore, you will be in such a pain..

You're on the right track mate. I have experienced that "emptiness" after a relationship before, and so have others I know. When you are together with someone you sacrifice a portion of your time to be with that person. And when he/she is not there anymore you are left with all that excessive amount of time that you really don't know what to do with, so you feel a need to be with that person to fill up that time. That's why you need to have your own things going on that doesn't really make you dependent on the company of any certain person.

A friend of mine, after breaking up, started to visit a local sportsfield where random people played football for fun. He didn't know anyone, they were all total strangers to him, but he asked nicely if he could join and after that it became a habit for him to do it like once a week. Even after meeting a new partner and getting married.

Losing someone or breaking up is always painful and time can heal that pain (more or less). However it's the time that you invested in a relationship that won't just show up again after a break up. And if you can't fill it up, that's when the pain starts taking from that time and it feels horrible (I know because I've been there lol). You can get caught in a negative spiral.

In my opinion you don't buy a flower to a girl and then expect her to make you happy. You buy her a flower because you want to share with her the happiness you've worked for and feel. And you should feel happiness with a person because you are allowed to be yourself. It's not that person per se that makes you happy, it's "you" making yourself happy in a relationship (or even when single). You have your things going on and can always find something to do when that special person is not present. That's why being accepted for who you are is very important. Of course you have to compromise as you are not identical.

Finally it's not that bad to feel pain from times to times... we collect experiences that way and become better in dealing with hardships in the future. (Sorry for my long replies lol)

@Pelle
I loved the idea of Yoga and meditation exercises. Yoga for a peaceful mind.
People kind of tell, I already tire my body with gym workouts.. why would I need Yoga?
Yoga synergises mind, body and soul.

I patiently read out all the answers and experiences. Some of them were really valuable advice from the fatherly figures. Cheers :)

Your’re right @Pele excercise and clearing mind Yoga as well when you cannot excercise and are hella sore and even tired.

I have a Yoga place but always find it so crowded, and always like a bit of space or half full room just like in a gym. But yes, sometimes can’t pick and choose - just do. Some say I am still stuck in the downward facing dawg position while typing away here.

And btw I had no clue you were/are married for 10yrs. I thought you were maybe in college after I’ve seen people baiting some of your comments on FR. Don’t know why. Just goes to show I know pish all.

At one point, I was on top of the toilet, had a noose all ready and everything. I was tying it across the ceiling - can't exacted remember what the plan was. At that moment, my sister walked in.

They got me down, and to tell you the truth.. To this day, I do not know what propelled me to do all that.

I was dealing with a lot of loss. It was painful, it felt like it would never get better. It hasn't, but you learn to deal with even the worst of life as time goes on.

It scares me honestly, just thinking back. What if nobody walked in?

My mother committed suicide when she was 36.

That I think is part of how it came that far. Because once it happens in your life, it'll always be there masquerading as a solution, waiting for your weak moment.

Suicide doesn't solve anything. It just hurts people, a lot of people.

I hope you see your way through it.

That's really hard to read. It certainly wasn't easy to say it out, but I'm glad you did, I really am. I'm in kinda difficult period, not sure what to expect. But sometimes you just have to find the happiness within you. That's when people like you.

I feel like a lot of problems would be fixed if people talked about them. For example "girlfriend" now, I don't know if I should even call her that anymore. One week she is like "oh love thank that I have you by my side". Then she wakes up the very next day like I'm last garbage and so on.

You can't leave all your happiness in other people, that's it, sometimes it's hard, but don't be afraid to tell it to the people. They will always help you. I find it hard to type, got hard days ahead. But I wanna wish you, have a nice day and be grateful, even for a little things.

quikzyy: sometimes you would find it necessary to know when to stop, to stay away from the toxic people around you. Sometimes it's friend(s) sometimes it's (ex)girlfriend. I'm pretty sure soon enough you would have the courage to truely realize that and do that!

We are with you bro. :) shit happens.

Talking is very good "therapy" actually. I've been in such a relationship once quickzyyy... sometimes you feel very disoriented. Just don't blame yourself or let it consume you, cause life is full of positive moments and opportunities. We just need to seize them.

Yes, I find talking as a such a relief now. I was always more like a shy person, but since this mood, I'm trying to speak to anyone, anywhere, find new challenges and so on. Everything bad is good for something, but it would be better if you were not hurt by the people you love..

Today looked good, went for early 5AM run, then work, school, some works due to weekend house, later we met with gf for a while and despite she said, she is looking forward when we will see each other later today. Don't know what has happened but suddenly "It would be easier if you will forget about me .." I feel broken, again. :(

@quikzyyy Really starting to think this GF of yours might be where your depression start. She sure sound like she doesn't know what she want, is she insecure or something? Sorry, I don't mean to pry, just wondered.

Hey Quikzzzy sometimes solitude is good man. Helps you clarify situations. If you truly love her then you can also let her go right? Be patient See what happens

Yep, that how it works. Exes or current gf but at the edge of the relationship gives you false hope, wrong sense of happiness... then drain you out. :)

Been there, done that.

The sooner you get out the better.
