Who is the better striker?
Who is the better striker?
@Footywatch Honestly, if you could have gotten an actual striker in the winter window, thing might have been different, honestly, Liverpool has shown sign of having trouble keeping up at the moment, losing against Feyenoord and Plymouth, the draw against Everton and the difficult win against Wolverhampton are all reason for me to think Arsenal could possibly go all the way if they were able to score goals consistently.
How Saliba doing right now? I remember there were time where he wasn't as good as last season last year, honestly think he might have tired legs and this could also be trouble for Arsenal.
Interesting to see that almost everyone got the title predictions wrong and I never expected liverpool to even challenge for the league.
This was arguably the worst season of the premier league in this century. We knew what teams are getting relegated and the title winners by February.
GLORY RETURNS TO THE TYNE!
Congrats to Newcastle for first title in a long while, first title under the new ownership as well. Will be quite interesting to see where they build from there, hoping to see them in Europe once more next season.
@Footy_watch To be fair, there were some very hard to predict stuff that happened.
City collapse make sense in hindsight considering how old some of their key player are but one of their biggest problem was Rodri getting injured again and this wasn't something anyone could have predicted.
Liverpool being so good was also very hard to see coming considering we expected Slot to need some time to adapt before really taking Liverpool to the next step. The other big thing about Liverpool was Salah amazing form, which I will concede, I did not see coming. Honestly, if Salah wasn't so good this season, I'm not sure Liverpool would be this far ahead and nearly certain to get the title at the end of the season.
Chelsea are seemingly better with Maresca but they still are widly inconsistent. Tottenham have been hit really badly by injury and I think their coach is reaching his limit. United, I just don't know anymore, I think some of those players are just not good enough. I mean, other than Amad and Bruno, none of the players really managed to make an noticeable impact from my point of view.
As for Arsenal, they are doing a bit worse than last season but they are still a consistently strong side imho. It just a bit dissapointing for them that the season City is having such a bad time, they haven't been able to step up and take advantage of that.
Do you think Newcastle United could achieve Champions League football this season?
It is looking very likely, but there are loadsa other cotenders for now. It's gona be tough, and its gona be tough til the end of the season. Looking forward to some crazy games!
@Da Magpie Yes, it will definetly be very hard till the end of the season but honestly, if Newcastle key player manage to stay healthy, they might have a serious chance. For me, they are still a bit more consistent than Chelsea and Aston Villa. As for City, it depend on wether they manage to get back into a good form because if they do, we know they can be quite hard to stop... though I'm not convinced that'll happen this season. Honestly, its also not impossible for Nottingham to drop enough point for other teams to catch up. Top four this season will certainly be exciting.
It looks like Newcastle will get UCL football. They could actually overtake us as they will only be 4pts behind us assuming they win their game in hand and we are unlikely to win our remaining games.
I believe the 4th spot will go to City and the 5th UCL spot is a fight between Villa, Chelsea & Forest. I prefer Forest to get it since they have the 3rd most UCL wins in the premier league.

Villa are supposed to finish higher - they have more consistent form and a slightly easier calendar than Chelsea or Forest.
Manchester United are closer to relegation spots than first place, people don't realize how crazy that actually is, no matter how grim thing looked in the last couple of years, people wouldn't have believed it would be this bad. Honestly, they can still qualify for the CL through Europa League but otherwise, its one terrible campaign for them this season. I hope Ruben Dias is able to get the players he want next summer and hopefully be able to bring some kind of positive change to this team.
Yeah they’ve been so bad this season.
Man utd are lucky the promoted teams are getting worse every season otherwise they wouldve been fighting relegation. 5 to 10yrs ago you needed 40 points to be safe from relegation. This season you only needed 28 points or maybe less to be safe.
btw congrats to Liverpool. I wonder how their team will look next season, salah out Virgil out…
they both signed new contracts?
they both signed new contracts?
Indeed, they both extended their contract till 2027. They gonna need to look for replacement in the future though.
And yeah, congrats to them, never easy for a top team that had a long term manager to perform, but not only they did perform well but they also managed to nab the Premier League on their first season with Slot in charge.
Still, if Arsenal and City had managed to keep their form of the last two seasons, it might have been a more interesting contest between the three of them.

Man city's worst season in decades and they will finish above us. Even Newcastle will overtake us if they win today as they will beat us in the game we have with them.
Mind my french but who the f##k is Ruben Diaz. XD
Like seriously you can't even play that of as a typo
Mind my french but who the fuck is Ruben Diaz. XD

For Tottenham? Yes. It's been effing awful. But for the league itself? I don't agree.
While City started well again, I think the way the season has played out makes it rather exciting. Sure we knew early that Liverpool ran away with the title, but even that is a nice break from City winning.
But what's really interesting to me is how the pack has shuffled at the top. It's not just City falling and Liverpool rising, Arsenal (for all the memes) are still looking strong, and we're seeing the genuine rise of teams like Newcastle, Villa and Forest all challenging seriously for Top 4 alongside Chelsea. Meanwhile United and Spurs went into free fall down the table, before both managing to make it to a European final (albeit the 2nd tier), along with the Blues in the ECL.
In the CL nearly all the PL teams fell to PSG, which isn't to be ashamed of considering how well they're playing under Enrique, but still took out Real and others along the way.
I think it's been a good season both in terms of transition within the league, and performances in Europe despite such transitions, and next season is going to be super interesting when City get a new coach and everyone's had a chance to study Slot.
Guess we'll see!
Despite Liverpool's run away in the end, this season has been refreshing to watch. Plenty of joke material for all the keyboard warriors out there and some historic, albeit unwelcome by some, highs and lows.
Congrats to Liverpool. They did what they had to do to win the title, yet it still feels like it was a bit of a letdown season. No CL title, No FA title. Of course, if the goal was only the PL, well, job well done. I am pretty sure they expected more, though, and will push next season.
As a Man Utd fan in the PL, I do like seeing Arsenal not win anything, again. But, as a true football fan, I can see they are very close and just need to add a few pieces to their puzzle, as well as things have to go their way. They will make noise again next season for sure, but will they have enough?
I loved seeing Man City drop out of each competition, but don’t get it twisted, they are still a major force and will look stronger next season.
The Spurs and Man Udt were the most disappointing, and for sure Man Utd, with their worst season in their history, I just don’t see a huge resurgence for them anytime soon. They might get lucky with Europa to help them get into the CL, but that is NOT deserved at all! They could finish 17th should they lose to Villa and all other teams win their matches on the last day!
Seeing 7 teams qualify for Euro competitions is cool and deserved. I like seeing more parity in a league to give an exciting end for titles and potential relegation battles.
Jamie Vardy with his 200th goal before leaving LC is awesome. Seeing Crystal Palace win the FA Cup and their first title in their history was awesome.
It’s been fun as a footy fan, and I look forward to next season.
Man City are still the favourites which proves again that the EPL is a farmers league.
I dont know who will finish behind them this time but it's highly unlikely to be us.
If we don't sign a striker we will go another season without a trophy and finish 3rd or 4th.
