Iceland beat England...... Surprised?

While England has a rep for under performing in major tournaments, I did not expect Iceland to beat them in Euro16. I do like seeing lower ranked underdogs do well so I am excited to see this but I was surprised it came at England's expense. They did not look very good today at all.

I had England to win 2-1, but I'm not really surprised. It's always the same with England, hyped before the tournament but just can't deliver.

Not surprised even though I predicted England to win. England are truly a mess.

england tempo was so low in the second half and rooney just lazing around getting all his passes intercepted and being so slow as usual. wilshere did more in 10 minutes than gooney rooney did in the whole game!

Islands coach is a dentist lmao. No wonder Roy resigned right after the match. He got tactically outplayed by a part time football coach, part time dentist haha. The favorites are out LOL.

Have to agree with Kanye, Hodgson messed this up badly, I don't know much about England national team and how they play but to lose to a team wich is considered so inferior in quality is a sign they got tactically outmatched. Big deception for me, hope they get a better manager and manage to come back stronger for the next world cup. Good luck England. :(

Marcus, it has nothing to do with Iceland boss being a part time dentist. I watched almost all the group stage games. Iceland looked really good, England with the exception of one game did not. I predicted that Iceland would win 2-1, and won 30 points as a result of it.

Sure, England has great players but for the past decade, they've never played as a unit. They've never played in a way that wasn't completely underwhelming. How can you call me a liar when I posted the screenshot as well.

Here's a video, too: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kd30vjrrgfyv8h4/ice_video_20160627-232333.webm?dl=0

Now I understand you might be disappointed or upset, but I think nobody outside of UK expects England to really do well. It's just one of those things. It is just like Spain used to be before the last generation, would always have great players but never win anything,

Certainly didn't expect England to do much but, not to go out against Island, who get less population than Rooney earns in one one week. You can't blame just the manager for this loss, yeah, Sterling is nowhere near starting XI, Kane taking free kicks/corners, Rooney walking. But with the quality England got, they have to beat Island 10 out of 10 times.

Drinkwater must be really laughing right now :)

True, a lot of player are to blame for the results but I feel the fatigue from this season also made them weaker. That and their team spirit is far from being the best. Really sad for them but it felt like mission impossible to be sincere.

ahh not surprised really i predicted england to win but deep down inside (like everyone else) i knew england would fuck up. i felt really bad for some players but also furious at the same time, harry kane like why the fuck is he taking set pieces? he needs to be in the box anw after iceland scored their 2nd you could see the players were already thinking about the aftermath

I also predicted England to win
England centre-backs were simply just not able to close down the opponents. They were far to slow and their attack were able to have time to think. Yes Joe Harts 'save' was bad but their attackiers had to much time and i would have to blame the centre backs for this.

How can you not be surprised? But they didn't deserve to win with that display, they should be ashamed of themselves.

@Chelsea8 It wasn't this surprising in my opinion, from their display in the group stage, you just felt something like that could have happened and it did. I agree they should be ashamed though, very poor display from the whole team.
