FR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Profile Series
Footaholic 12 years ago

DEAR FR Members and Forum Participants:

The forum has been a successful outlet for legitimate football discussions between real football fans. For the most part it shields us from the wilderness of idiocy and hatred that is the highlights reels.
I have been a member here for quite a while now and I have learned some things from our discussion. NOW, I Want to take it to the NEXT LEVEL!

MY PROPOSITION: I want to Create a Series called "CLUB PROFILE". I will present a list of Football clubs and will be looking for SERIOUS volunteers to be responsbile for profiling one of each. The profile should include the following:
#1- The Club's History: Origins (tends to be the most interesting part); significant eras, moves, or changes in club name locale, etc.
#2- Highlight Key Managers and team "classes". Talk a little about said people's lives and background.
#3- Interesting RECORDS and/or Innovations introduced by the club
#4- A Quick List of all the Titles Earned by said club
#5- Any Interesting or Quaint Facts about the club that you think people would enjoy

This activity is not meant to be a chore but rather a REAL adventure. We can help REALLY teach each other more about football and in the process become really knowledgeable about the game we all love. It is one of the most significant things we could do for each other and I think it is a very worthwile unertaking that I hope you will be interested in participating in!!!

@knibis: sorry for the delayed response, I've been drowned in work. 1- I'm not a mod or admin so I can't create a new forum section although I believe that would be ideal. I have sent FR an email about structuring it but haven't heard back yet.

EVERYONE ELSE: So, I see many have still yet to choose a date. Please try to do so, so that a proper schedule could be finalized.  UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO SIT FOR MY MEDICAL LICENSiNG  EXAM ON FEB. 7th SO I WON'T BE AROUND UNTIL THEN. WILL SOMEONE BE WILLING TO TAKE ovER IN CREATING THE SCHEDULE AND ENSURING EVERYTHING IS GOING SMOOTHLY? I have to dedicate every waking minute to studying and won't have the luxury of coming anymore.
P.S. Pary for me/wish me luck/throw a coin in a puddle/etc... I'm going to need it.

@Footaholic, in person, I don't know who you are, but you are obviously very wise. Who cares about your age? The only thing worth is being a good member of this site, and it's a no-brainer that you are indeed one of the most experienced and trustworthy members - even better than the mods.

To think that you would make the time away from your medical course studies, just to hang out with us in this site, is somewhat asinine, but it's worthy of being praised.

An exam, such as this, is something that can't be merely done mentally alone - you're gonna need all the support for this, and you should know that I'm definitely gonna make a wish, somewhere, for your luck in this test, and I'm sure other members here will too. Good luck - people around the world are with you!

I'd like to echo Heisinburg, also, with regard to Footaholic. Take all the time you need man, and thank you for getting the ball rolling. It's a great idea, and we'll do you proud until you've got the spare time to come back to us. :)

Best of luck with the exams!

@Heisinburg, @Lodatz, and Everyone else: I cannot thank you enough for your kind words of support. It honestly does mean something to me because this is the most important exam I will ever have to take probably and I am very anxious. I only been able to come on here so much recently because I was on a medical leave of absence from school. But even before that I was active because you need something to take your mind of your work and Football is my passion. I promise I will return as soon as possible and I'll let you know how it all went.

@FR: Thanks for agreeing to make this work and for everything you do for the members.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I have communicated with FR to try and finalize how the judging and prizes for the competition will be sorted.

PS: I STILL NEED SOMEONE TO VOLUNTEER TO SUPERVISE THIS PROJECT WHILE I'm GONE!!! This will basically only involve making a calendar and ensuring people post on their scheduled days. Not too much work. please help out.
