"That shouldn't be so. The winter transfer update should be allowed to be installed even offline. The winter transfer update is when the rating changes."

Ummmm well, *coughs coughs* for some reason, I can't connect my xbox to the internet.. :P

I guess its alright to change the ratings yourself if that's the case, but I personally would just wait until the winter transfer update comes out and then just look up the updated ratings on the internet to put them as the ratings myself.

yeah, that's why I mentioned many times that I have to do them manually :))

@Dynestian "David Luiz should definitely have shot power of 87+, but it'll take many more long shots for him to be on Ronaldo, Gerrard, and Messi's level. :)"

I know mate, but that's not the thing. David Luiz is a defender and wouldn't get as much chances as C.Ronaldo to take the long shots. But I wanted to know on what EA base their players stats, for instance the shots power: Out of all the long shots that Cahill or David Luiz took I have never seen a low powered shots, all of them were so powerful. as for the shots accuracy I don't know how would you rate it if for instance the player took only 10 and 8 of them were on target and scored 3 or 4 goals from them, how would you rate their shot accuracy and shot power out of 100? there must be a logical analyze system for those ratings. :)

@Vendetta, no you speak an opinion when you say that Courtois deserves an 86 rating. Before you praise Courtois, you should also praise Athletico Madrid's back four who have been very solid this year, which contributed much to the amount of goals conceded. How has Courtois done far more than De Gea? They've both won the Europa League (De Gea at the age of 19) and the Super Cup. Although it is impossible to prove, I am sure De Gea would've achieved the same success had he still been at Athletico Madrid, instead of United. They are both similar types of goal keepers: great shot-stoppers, good with their feet. Except that now De Gea is a more complete goalkeeper, because he has strengthened the deficiencies playing in the PL brings out in La Liga goalkeepers. I am not trying to hate on Courtois, but he needs to prove himself that he can command his box and show that he has presence; this is something that the PL will expose in goalkeepers. Who knows, he might actually handle it well unlike De Gea. Until then, no way would I rate him 86.

DO NOT accuse someone of bias if you do not know what bias means. If I put out a rating that has all the Chelsea or Liverpool players in the 70's and the Man Utd players at 80's and 90's, then you can safely assume I am being biased. For someone to be biased, they have to have skew in their argument which favors ONE side as opposed to the OTHER. I only presented what I believed were the true ratings for United players. I played as a defender, so I might be biased in favor of defenders. For example, I would rate Thiago Silva as 90, David Luiz as 88, Kompany as 88, Vidic as 87, Dante at 86, Ferdinand at 84, Jones at 82 and Smalling as 80. This is because I know what qualities are most essential in being a complete defender (positioning, IQ, responsiveness and proper marking). BTW the stats are based on your abilities rather than how much you play. As far as Welbeck is concerned, he was inconsistent last season because he was constantly pushed to the wings by SAF, a position he was very new to. This season, after scoring a brace for England and Man Utd, I really believe he deserves his 83 rating on the merits of his abilities (stamina, good in the air, quick, able to get back and defend, deft finishing). Like I said you don't like it, go listen to someone else's opinion, but remember that anytime you try to QUANTIFY a player based on his QUALITIES, you are always going to have controversy. Deal with it.

I'm going to leave the FIFA part now because I really don't want to argue about ratings. I only stated which is bias from each opinion due to Dynast's question and in no way meant it as to pick a fight. And I also stated that I respect your opinion, and still do. So let's leave it at that.

But the De Gea v Courtois argument. That interests me a lot. I'd enjoy arguing about who is better and more complete. But not in this thread. Maybe ramaboy can do a Player v Player thread about them and we'll argue there :)

@Vendetta, look mate you can't say you respect someone's opinion but also insult it by saying it is based on bias. I would never respect a biased opinion and you shouldn't either. I am a firm believer that fans should try their best to be objective about controversies that happen in football. I am sure @AlexBatak isn't biased either. By his standards, a lot of other players are probably underrated in FIFA.

I can respect your opinion and still say its bias. Sure I called it bias, but that's not an insult to call someone's opinion bias. By respecting it, I simply just leave it as the same opinion and not go crazy over the person's opinion. After all, calling it bias was all to just aswer Dynastian's question in the previous pages. But let's not keep this going now. I already stated I don't want to argue about FIFA ratings. If I did, I would have been arguing with Alex over his ratings when he first posted it here.

@Vendetta, you have a very misguided view of bias and the negative connotations and implications associated with the word. 'Tis all.

@V It's only "bias" when you upgrade your team and leave all the other EPL players ratings the same. then yeah that would be bias. But I will make RVP 90 because he deserves it and there is no question about it, Hernandez for example deserves at least a freakin 84 he is the 3rd best Mexican player of all time and whenever this guy play he shows everyone who he really is and so on for many EPL players. in my book Benteke will be upgraded from 79 to 84-85. not just a random overall but i will have to check his stats and see where EA misjudged his abilities and edit them and so for the other players.

It's only a realistic upgrade for those underrated players. basically I will be doing what EA were supposed to do.
