Bale. He can defend, attack, score goals and do whatever Hazard can do. And he's left footed :D

I may be a bit biased here and my opinion is definitely arguable but I say Hazard. Hazard (21) has only been in the EPL for one season and he has already proven to be world class in all competitions, not just the EPL. Bale (23) on the other hand had a bit of a slow start in his first 3 seasons with Tottenham. For example, let's look at Mata. There is no doubt Mata was already a proven AM/LW in his first season with Chelsea but he really began to shine once he gained experience in the EPL and got used to the to the Chelsea team. Mata's first season ended with around 10 goals and close to 20 assists I believe. In his second season though, the experience in the EPL began to really help and he has 30 assists and around 20 goals so far!

Now let's look at some stats coming from ESPN:

Bale

Bale last season had 15 goals and 16 assists in all competitions and so far in this season, he has 26 goals and 10 assists in all competitions. I must say, it's remarkable how he has 26 goals so far at the age of 23. I find that to be amazing.

Hazard

As you can see, Hazard is not really achieving the same amount of goals and assist in his previous season. My view on this now though is Hazard is getting used to the style of the EPL. And if we compare Bale from last season to Hazard this season we can see that Hazard beats Bale in assist and goals. Hazard has also been used as a sub more than Bale.

Yes Bale is doing superb this season. But so is Hazard for his first season in England and with a new team. Bale wins this one according to statistics but if Hazard had the same experience as Bale, there would be no comparison. Hazard would win it as long as he keeps improving and gets a load of experience.

@Vendetta: I love Eden Hazard. I think he's a fantastic player, and I think your analysis is top notch, Vendetta. Very well thought out and organized, and based upon facts. :)

I gotta go with Bale, though.

The only point I felt worth nitpicking was where you said that Bale needed 3 seasons to get going, whereas Hazard hit the ground running. This is true, but it's also true that Bale spent his first 2 years as a left-back, and then slowly shifted through left midfield, and then up to left wing. All in the Premier League, I should note, and all for a team who have been hanging around the line between first and second tier of that league.

That took about 4 years, and NOW we're seeing the result. He's now a complete game-changer, and is doing things that no-one else in the league (and very few players in the world) can do.

By contrast, Hazard flourished in a lesser league (sorry, French fans, but it's true), and was purchased to come and slot into a young, already star-studded midfield. He's been wonderful, and I'm insanely jealous of the fact that you have him, and he could well turn out to be the next Zidane, but, he also started as a winger/CAM, and has always been one.

With that in mind, I don't think it's fair to hold the 'progress time' against Bale, considering those things.

Like you said, though, it's very arguable. :)

it depends on what u mean if u wanna a "fight" between these 2.
ball control: Hazard
dribbling: Hazard
finishing: Bale
free kicks: Bale
heading: Bale
defending: Bale
passing: Hazard
acceleration: Hazard
balance: Hazard
sprint: Bale
stamina: Bale
vision: Hazard
I would say Hazard is more technically player while Bale is more like universal-player.
But for me Hazard.

Hands down Hazard. THIS IS HIS FIRST YEAR IN EPL AND LOOK AT HIM. 21 years old and he's this threatening ? Imagine what he's going to be like in 2 to 3 years.

Bale is an incredible player with speed and finishing, but Hazard contributes more for a teams success.

Both are outstanding but Bale is better in my opinion. Even Barcelona and Real Madrid would want Bale in their teams, in fact, they do (especially RM)

i will take Hazard because he is not a 1 dimensional player unlike Bale *no offense* but he sucks when he is playing in the right side of the field
