I rarely watch internationals outside the world cup so i cant make an informed estimation.
I think USA may win it by matchfixing although they played the best football of the tournament so far so i wouldnt mind them winning it if they continue playing like that.
Otherwise I would think France or Spain are likely to win it.
Haha big sweat.
It’s very hard to pick out only one team but I’ll go with Brazil.
fuck those commercials through water cool break
I fell you feels like halftime.
Wow Curacao vs Germany is heating up.
Current score 2 - 1 to Germany
Sorry for double post but Amadddd goallllll 😂
France and Spain are the overall favs, and for good reason. England has a ridiculous team, let's see how well they play together. You also have Holland, Argentina, Brazil and Portugal.
Naturally I have to go for the US and they sure had a heck of a match vs Paraguay. I expect them to get out of the group and perhaps a favorable next round can see them dip their toes into later rounds. Despite Footy_Watch's match fixing opinion, I dont see them winning it all. Success here would be anything farther than the quarters.
My second fav national team has always been Brazil. I would LOVE for them to win it again, especially on US soil like 94. They are not the team they used to be but you can never count them out.
Japan and Morocco are big time dark horse teams.
Very shocked by Spain.
@MikeHawk No kidding! Who was that in the red kits??? I get that they would start slower using their bench more, but even so, and then you put in starters...... Keep in mind, Argentina lost their opening match then turned a won the whole thing.
@DarthFooty Forgot Argentina lost against Saudi Arabia. People might not be talking about this match if Spain win it this year but it's still shocking that Cabo Verde kept Spain off the score sheet considering it it their first ever world cup ever and isn't their keeper like 40 yrs old. Saudi Arabia was at least in the world cup in the past.
That's why you gotta love the world cup, never know what you're gonna get. Disregarding my European bias (was predicting a draw) how far do you think you'll get? QF? SF? Poch have you playing some really good football
Anyways I gotta know how did you get to become a QPR fan? Where you originally from England and just moved to the States?

If anything Spain looked tired in the end. Yamal had a muscle injury as well before the game. The hydration break is shit but it will help with cramp and stuff in the latter stages.
Guys, check out FootyRoom's take on Spain:
@MikeHawk While my romantic side wants to see the US get as far as the Semi-Finals (If not win it all), making the Quarters is still an expectation of mine, with this current group of players and coach. We are too good to "just" get out of the group and depending on the next rounds opponent, we "should" get another round or two in.
For the average American, getting out of the group and either beating or coming close to beating a higher ranked team than us will be a success. For those of us who know the game more, we expect to push bigger teams this time around on our way to at least the quarters.
As you said, in this tournament, you never know. Spain showed that in their shocker, and Argentina proved that last WC. France, Germany, Brazil, Italy, they have all crapped the bed at times, and this US team is, dare I say it, our best group we have ever had.
You don't need to write a fucking article to know that Spain's tiki taka is fucking dogshit. As long as these so called expert keep overhyping them every world cup and seeing them crash out makes it more hilarious. Here is a stat Germany (26 shots, 11 shots on target, 7 goals) vs Curacao (7 shots, 2 shots on target, 0 goals) compared with Spain (23 shots, 8 shots on target, fucking 0 goals) vs Cabo Verde (6 shots, 1 shot of target, 0 goals). Doesn't help they have a few barka players playing for them. Would not be surprised if they end the group stage with only 3 pts LOL
Wow Messi with an incredible performance, i wonder if they will get back to back world cups now.
Mbappe and Messi will both break the record for the most world cup goals.
1-1 Portugal. THEY ARE SO ASS. Why was Ronaldo playing for the entire 90? I've seen so many CR7 Portugal jersey it's actually crazy. I hate these fucking tourist. gtfo man
Not trying to hate on Ronaldo, and surely he has done better than all of us in his playing career, but man, he looked way off. Stiff walking, stiff running, not as flexible. It is his 6th world cup and he is over 40 in a young mans game.
I fear the coach might throw away the chance for a very good Portugal team to make it far, unless he starts to sub out or not start Ronaldo.
Spain and Portugal are shockers in their opening matches, but things are no where near over for either team. This tournament is a marathon, not a sprint.
It is very cool to see even the teams that "shouldnt be there" can play some footy. All the teams had moments of solid football, so I appreciate the global level raising the bar.
Starting this thread just in case anyone wants to share some thoughts about the WC
