Martinez is a good choice by barca, and a good fit. The main issue however is that he hasnt managed a club/stars of that magnitude before, which could be crucial deep into tournaments. I also think fans been harsh on Valverde, barca fans many times seems spoiled. League title, CDR final and UCL semifinal is not bad at all!

Martinez went from Wigan, to Everton, to Belgium to nearly Barcelona. Whoever this guy's agent is, he is a genius.

I would like to reinforce my tier argument with recent example of Arsenal playing vs Chelsea.

Auba supposed 2nd tier ( for some devoted arsenal fans 1 tier ) played like 3rd tier. While Chelsea’s Giroud who was also 3rd tier playing for Arsenal turned into 2nd tier for Chelsea.

Another fact, only 1 tier player I saw that night was Peter Cech but Arsenal defense managed to make him look like 2nd tier by playing like 3rd tier even though if Cech didn’t play like 1 tier and didn’t make them look like 3rd tier, then Arsenal defense would have been rated as 5th tier. And yes you guessed it right some sht is seriously wrong in Arsenal as they keep on bringing these genteleman elegant players who can’t cope with pressure. Cech was savage in his interviews about it. Man played many years to have credibility in his words and understanding of the contrast.

Giroud alway been 2nd tier though imho. Was great as a super sub for Arsenal. Yeah, he was better than usual in the fnalbut he isn't alway that good for Chelsea. If anything, Giroud might have been more motivated by the fact he was playing against Arsenal than the fact he was playing for Chelsea.

@quikzyyy: not me mate... not we who followed him in the national team. He mashes very well there, and even if he doesn’t score he puts up good performances. Not the best allround player but he fulfills his role well.

@Pelle I guess other than you, I'm one of the last FR user who think he is actually pretty good (Meunier). What I like the most about him is that he actually pretty damn dangerous. Guys could propably play as winger and still be a top level player. Yeah, he didn't play a lot this season but thats doesn't mean he is bad at all.

Have you even watch him play ? Ok he's probably not the best right back in the world, but he was very good at the world cup with the belgian team, he's great on counter attack, and his crossing are pure magic. And last point in contrary to 99% of football players, this guy has a brain. I'm not saying this just because I'm from Belgium, I've seen him playing many times and seen a lot of great things from this guy, very underrated imo.
