@marcus I think I talk for a lot of people when I say that we didn't expect neymar to be the next messi. He's just one of the greatest prospects in world football, we'll see how good he is when he hits his prime in 4 or 5 years. And the fact that he is so marketable maybe makes people think he is better than he truly is.
But Bale is overrated ? Maybe he was overpriced but Bale is a freaking monster. Last season for Spurs the guy was on a rampage. I saw him play Lyon in the europa and I was honored I could see such a brilliant player live. Everytime he touched the ball you could feel the tension in the whole stadium, everyone knew he was f*cking dangerous. Maybe he hasn't hit form yet for real, or maybe he's just sharing the spotlight with so many stars he is a little more under the radar. I don't watch real enough to talk about that.
My point is : Neymar has still a long way to go before we know how good he can become. His diving history is not helping him with all the bashing he is getting these days. But Bale is a freaking beast of a player. I don't see how anyone would say he is overrated.

^^^ Tiki's got a point there. What's funny is that that this type of thread is the thread that stimulates the most activity on this forum, so it's no surprise that it hasn't been closed down. Everyone secretly loves to debate these topics.
@tiki_taka, For the record, I haven't contributed to this thread until now because I feel the same way. As a matter of fact, you pose a good point on how both Neymar and Bale have scored in CL and have found it more difficult to adapt to La Liga.
My man of the match was Di Maria. Pedrito over Neymar, any day of the week :P

@Wolfie, there are a few users on this forum who contribute NOTHING to the discussion. Everytime you see them it's "haha what you say is irrelevant because your team sucks" or "lol you are probably a kid and your team sucks". I wish these guys would just stop bothering coming to footyroom.
The mods on here should make decisions about the quality of this forum (legit advice). If it were for me, for the sake of the quality of arguments, I would ban memes, and I would delete messages or even ban users who contribute nothing and just want to piss off people. Manchesterutl comes to mind...

@KingHenry: totally agree, I hate those trolls, they can just go to goal.com and troll over there. Some members here actually put time and effort to debate, discuss and share football views despite their contradiction against each other sometimes, some are just trolling...
