Suarez to Barca! Done. €88m (£75 approx.)

Manchester United, Netherlands 198 6912

Yesterday night, 9th July 2014, Barca, Liverpool and Suarez have come to an agreement of his transfer after a week of negotiation.

Cant say much about it, he's an outstanding striker and wouldn't have any problem adapting La Liga.

But €88m is way way too much!!! He's 27, and is incredibly unpredictable, imagine he did something stupid in CL's semi-final???

I feel kinda sad for Liverpool >.< it would be much sweeter if they was champ last year... but since Suarez hasn't contributed much to the trophy cabinet there... it's sad.

Anyway, good luck to Barca, Liverpool and especially Suarez... sad news for EPL though.

This transfer tells me that Enrique will be throwing out the tiki taka system and introduce a more direct and straight-forward yet MASSIVE attacking system. Imagine Suarez, Neymar, Messi, Iniesta all on the same pitch! Let us sign a world-class CB or two and then beware Real Madrid fans!!!! Be very ware!!

Paul Scholes: "If Luis Suarez does sign for Barcelona from Liverpool, will Lionel Messi 'accept' him?" he wrote for Paddy Power.

"Suarez is a centre forward and he won't want to play out wide. I can't see Suarez and Messi linking well together.

"It seems to me, if Messi likes you, you'll play.

"If he doesn't, you're wasting your time. And, to be honest, I think Suarez is making a bit of a mistake going to Barcelona – he'd be better suited to Real Madrid."

^The reason why i was praying that Real Madrid never bid on him.
Messi will adapt, he will prefer to see the team winning rather than his own things, look at his role in Argentina.

Hopefully Suarez likes Spanish food. Don't take this the wrong way, I mean actual food.

@Tiki

And then look at how Zlatan turned out. Messi didn't like playing second-fiddle to Zlatan as a winger, and Zlatan got shipped out. Messi won't let Neymar be the star man alongside him, and Neymar will never fulfill his potential in Barcelona. Suarez doesn't play as a winger, and will not be as good with Barca. Not unless he plays striker with Messi supporting him.

Suarez doesn't play as a winger, and will not be as good with Barca as he would've been if Messi wasn't the only player who is allowed to play striker.

@ Dyna

I think the system will change. I believe we will have two strikers (Suarez and Neymar) with Messi and Iniesta right behind them, with Messi having more of a free role though.

^ I foresee that too. Like tiki says, I think the sting of not winning the leeague last year (or the CL the last 3 tears) will wear upon Messi, whether or not he lifts the greatest of all trophies on Sunday, and he will be willing to change himself to suit what's best for the team.

And yes, it's absolutely clear that what's best for the team will be to play Neymar and Suarez up front as a strike partnership. With Messi sat behind them, using his vision of the game (with Iniesta on his flank, and perhaps Rakatic on the other side), that is a VERY formidable strike-force.

The question is: can Barcelona shore up their defensive deficiencies, to match a new outlook in attack?

@ Lodatz I don't think there will be anyone who could replace Gerrard ... not in the next 5 years. Maybe Henderson could take his spot but he will never be a "Gerrard". I think he is the right replacement though but will never be as influental as Gerrard used to be in his old days.

Guys,

This is ridiculously a lot of money for Suarez - extremely talented but quite unreliable (Im talking about he might do some crazy shit at a crucial moment).

As for the club, I dont blame Barca ever, not once for any penny they spend, they earn that because they have trained and harvested from their own academy (with additional expensive signing, so what??). Until other giants can do that everyone should calm down on their spending. And let's not talk about the past.

@Dyn: I think you are a bit too harsh on Messi. A lot of journalists have tried the same story on Messi, it's just utterly unfair. And even if it's true that one has to play to suit Messi, it's Coach's decision. At Zlatan time, that decision proved CORRECT!

Messi was prefered by pep to Zlatan, because he was doing well without him and after Zlatan departure he won CL, so nobody said a word.
He was younger and had some stats to achieve, now that he achieved all the stats he wanted, and the team found a good way to stop his danger, he would be glad to find help.
Bale helped Ronaldo to score more specially in CL, and Suarez buy will end the efficiency of parking bus to Messi.
I believe its a win win, Neymar is still adapting to la liga, he has the mental i not worried about him.
And if we have to buy, Neymar would be sold at a good price, i believe he is still valued really high.

Suarez at the different of Zlatan is comming into a rebuilding transition, Zlatan was more trying to suit a place of the puzzle of a team already formed, i think Enriqué will find a good place for his 9.

Anything can happen right? I think Suarez will fit perfectly, but it might very well be the other way around, it also largely depends on the coach, how he would utilize his disposal. With all this fuzz, I hope to see Atletico will bring us another surprise!!!
