Suarez diving... yet again.

I dont even know what to say, I believe he is one of the best strikers in the world but this is one of the reason he is probably my most hated player ever.

you have to give credit to suarez here, it was a very convincing dive. By the way, Liverpool seems to be out of the title race for good what do you guys think ?

They're not completely out just yet but dropping two points was very costly. Consecutive results for the top 3 will seal the title but any team can topple over very quickly this season. Also, Tottenham has impressively caught up with the pack.

I think that, realistically, the only teams capable of winning the title this season are Arsenal, City, and Chelsea. None other. The gap between 3rd and 4th will only get bigger.

I'm so fucking tired to see how football is today.

you can try to come with your videos saying R9naldo was a diver, but he wasn't.
And it's really sad, but football is not a sport anymore.

of course it's a sport. Quit whining already. With or without diving football is still the best sport in the world, it's not like people dive in every game

@tiki:

"A dive is always a disgrace when its against you and part of Football when its suits you. The problem here is that in 2013 diving is mainstream sadly."

A large part of why it's mainstream is because people make excuses for it, and blame the referees instead of the players who are deliberately conning them.

It's not a case of it being awful when it's against, and acceptable when it suits; just because some people (usually the defenders of divers) think that way, it doesn't mean that everyone does, and in places like England and Germany (and northern Europe in general) we don't. We consider diving to be cheating, instead.

And yes, we're proud of it. And yes, it makes us better people, who like a cleaner, purer game of football.

That's WHY we're proud of it.

Suarez has incredible talent, but he belongs in a circus, like last season's Copa del Rey final.

All i see in this is injustice toward few players, why Lodatz you dont hate on Bale when he dived, Why alex you dont hate on Oscar, Ramirez ?
Laughing at Walcott when he got 6 month injury ? And you try to tell me it makes you better people to insult diver Who are not part of your team ?
Im not defending divers, but i found it a little hypocrite to be quiet when the diver is for your team and make a post with everyone saying what he thinks about that dive.
Does this discussion prevent from diving ? No, i think Diving does not worth making a big deal of it every time, thats just my opinion, since we are doing nothing to make this disapear from our fields.

If you are a Liverpool fan, you love Suarez for his contribution for your team and hate Drogba for being a serial diver.
No look if you are a Chelsea fan, Drogba is a legend but Suarez is just a bad diver and a cheater.
The reality is that both are world class players, both are great competitors and winners, and sadly both are divers.
So, granting one and hating the other just prove that emotions beat reason in fans reasoning specially in England.

You cannot compare Drogba and Suarez. Drogba is a captain, calm, serious and intelligent, Suarez is an non-educated idiot. Diving fits perfectly with Suarez mentality, that's why people hate him when he made it...

People just love to point and blame without ever actually knowing how much contact Suarez received or did not receive. If there was contact, even if a little, would it be a penalty?

I think Suarez goes down easy regardless, and draws the foul. I guess some people would call that smart because the prons outweigh the cons.

Nobody is talking about how the keeper mistimed his slide, and how it was dangerous, and how he completely missed the ball.

@tiki:

"All i see in this is injustice toward few players, why Lodatz you dont hate on Bale when he dived"

I did, and was very glad when he cut that crap out (at least until he moved to Madrid). I also grumbled quite clearly about Townsend, after his blatant dive, and was especially proud when AVB scolded him for it, and Townsend then apologised and vowed to not dive again. THAT made me proud of my club, and the player.

I can't speak for Chelsea fans, but I do recall Mourinho dissing his players for diving, too, very recently, and nearly every Chelsea fan I can think of on here agreed with him.

Again, this double standard you claim exists... doesn't really exist.

If people would stop making excuses for it, then maybe we could seriously petition and lobby to get retroactive panels who can issue fines and bans for diving. Or, we could simply have video replays taken into account for referee decisions. Lots of things are possible.

@Gustavo:

"Nobody is talking about how the keeper mistimed his slide, and how it was dangerous, and how he completely missed the ball."

  • And the reason why is because the keeper tucked in his arm to avoid making himself dangerous. Sure he mis-timed it, which is why Suarez had every chance of merely staying on his feet and having a shot on goal.

Instead, he dived.

Good point for Tottenham and AVB if its true...

Suarez is player who will dive if he has the chance, but he is also a player who if inside the penalty box or a good free kick position will fall down with the slightest touch. I think there is a difference between these two things.

He hasn't dived in a while, so I'm more inclined to think he felt a slight nudge from the keeper and that's why he feel down.

Suarez is a great player, really smart and opportunist...

One of my best WC memories, Suarez after his hand keeping calm and walking near the ref as if it wasnt him XD 0.42s.
I laughed hard for 5 min until Ghana didnt score, then i felt sorry for Ghana.
Football is biaised, When Maradona cheated in World cup, everybody said the hand of God. And everybody celebrated the WC victory, that was a clear message for all latin players....

Suarez was celebrated as Maradona for his hand, few people in France said that Henrys hand was not loyal against Ireland, and prefered to celebrate qualification while French people looked ashamed. As i told you those who fix rules are the most guilty.
Why Henry was not suspended ? why Ireland didnt have a re-match ?
The world is full of injustice, and everybody is closing his eyes and have a fatalist reasoning...
Im not surprised if players do everything they could to take advantage, rich people in this world dont have the same rules as normal people and those players are not normal people anymore so all Football MVP close their eyes.

"It's a blatant dive!" "Suarez is a cheat" etc.. Shearer the top BPL scorer of all time has no idea what he's talking about compared to the well informed and extremely knowledgeable computer pundits of Footyroom forum. Get real.. Have any of you guys actually ever played football in a real life game??
