Suarez diving... yet again.

I dont even know what to say, I believe he is one of the best strikers in the world but this is one of the reason he is probably my most hated player ever.

It wasn't a dive. AVL Keeper has only himself to blame.

Watch the keepers elbow

Oscar did the same but the difference is that there was a contact with the GK but Oscar did it on purpose in order to get a Penalty, yet he got a yellow card for it. which I'm totally fine with it. but this one is a pure dive.

Erm. Maybe it's this angle and it could be argued that the elbow did touch Suarez on the leg but this is just a dive...

i wont argue for anything..
But 9/10 players would have done the same with Suarez!

@Tuanis
Campbell is the guy at your photo?

Watching it in slow-motion makes it worse to decide if it's a dive or not. If you can get a GIF at normal speed, I think we'd be able to figure out better if there was enough contact to stop his momentum or not.

There is nothing to figure out. I watched it live. The ref got conned... end of. Was as clear a dive as you get. Suarez stole 2 points away from Aston Villa today. THIS is why we need retrospective punishments. Defiles the beautiful game.

@Foota, I would even argue that a call like this should be open to review. Mostly every other major sport has a replay system. That would definitely make players think thrice about pulling a stunt like this.

This is a dive. Guzan actually does extremely well to avoid Suarez.

This guy has everything to be a great player, instead, he chooses to be a jerk...

^Suarez is held back for playing in a league that constantly and unfairly persecute him. He is no angel but they do single him out.

Diving is only a big deal in England, the truth is that there are divers in everyteam.
There is a problem in refreing, they need the replay no doubt. All those players under-pressure are just trying to make their team win, its ugly to watch but its not their fault if there are any sanctions to fear. The actual rules encourage the players to dive and Penalties are really importants in Football, they worth mostly a goal.
So we should blame UEFA for not applying replays, not the players who take advantage of a loophole...

^I think we should also blame the police if a poor man shoots another man to steal his watch & wallet. It isn't his fault.

You can easily decide whether it was a dive or not just by looking at Suarez's left leg. He could have easily stayed up, instead, he consciously folded his left leg and fell with the usual theatrics. This is a very complicated maneuver i wonder where he was taught this.

@DonAndres: yes he is, I can only see a black square as my profile...
@Dynast: That's what I thought, I already watch the full speed but I couldn't find a full speed gif were you can clearly see him dive.

@messi6511: you nailed it. he could go on, but he felt the gk touching him with the elbow and he fell. they actually get taught how to fall in a foul situation, to adapt that to ANY situation is a gift i guess. it's just that the guy is generally talented i think lol.

any player in the same position would do the same anyway. i mean any nowadays player.

@Foota we should blame the police if the punishement is a simple warning ( yellow card ), but i have never said that divers were inocents.

A dive is always a disgrace when its against you and part of Football when its suits you. The problem here is that in 2013 diving is mainstream sadly. No coach in the world would punish his player after getting a PK by diving when the team is loosing...
If the divers were a minority, i would understand but whats reality is that non-diving players are the minority and we should greet them instead of insulting every diver who dont play in your team.
There is no problem in other sports because they have cameras and the result is less important financially, but at this term of competition, players are humans and competitors, and the best competitors are rarely nice persons...
Cameras are NEEDED. Because the punishement will be never adapted to diving.

Everytime i see those diving post and everybody hating on 1 player, this will go nowhere and posts like this, we can make a top 10 of everyweak divers if we want, but does it worth debating about it ?

he does sort of make contact, but not enough to give a penalty. retribution for the offside wrongly given vs man city?

I kinda take back what I said...
We havae to be sympathetic with the referee considering from this angle, it looks like a total penalty.
