Guess this joke is true then....
Q) What is the difference between a hedgehog and a busload of manchester united fans?
A) On a hedgehog all the pricks are on the outside !
Excuse my lack of knowledge on this, but I don't get the joke. Can someone explain it to me?
@V today Bayern scored 2 goal against Barcelona in a freindly match, 2 + the 7 that they scored in the Champs leauge equals 9.
Ahhhh...
This joke isn't funny because
1) It was a friendly match
2) Messi was the only Starting XI player for Barca, and he only played the first half. The second half was basically all Barca B players. So don't get too excited Bayern fans.
ManUtd fans remember this
@awais007, If Rafael didn't get sent off in that match, we would've gone to our third consecutive CL final no doubt. But anyways, I'd rather remember the greatest comeback in UCL history:
@TheGame Haha that's cute. Greatest comeback in UCL history from Manchester United??
Don't you remember Istanbul 2005?
Yes I do. My position will not change. Turning a game on its head in the final 2 minutes is still much more impressive to me than scoring 3 goals in the second half, within 10 minutes. And the fact that it meant United won the treble makes it that much sweeter.
So the fact that United won the treble effects the fact that they came back in the 90th minute?
@TheGame: They scored 3 goals within 6 minutes, get your facts straight. Liverpools comeback was greater than Uniteds, because it's much harder to catch up a 0-3 backlog than turning a 0:1 into a 2:1. And it doesn't matter if the goals were scored in the final two minutes or in the 70th and 72nd minute, because in the end only the win counts.
Well said JuanMata10, well said
@ramaboy10, yes the occasion matters. Take Rooney's famous bicycle kick vs. Ibrahimovich's. Which one was more difficult to execute, technically? I would say Ibrahimovich (mainly due to the distance to the goal). But the fact that Ibrahimovich scored in an international friendly and Rooney scored the winner against our rival Manchester City in the EPL, makes Rooney's goal overall more impressive to me. But that is just my opinion.
@TheGame: You guys will always call it the greatest comeback in UCL history (and it is indeed one of the best comebacks), but I remember it as how unlucky Bayern Munich is (and they still are most of the time).
@JuanMata10, you are right about the time. I was recalling from memory. As I said earlier, this is a matter of opinion. You are willing to completely ignore the occasion of the win. That is really a simplistic way of looking at things. Not all the wins are the same. Not all goals are the same. The manner in which United became the treble winning side in the 1999 UCL in such a late, dramatic fashion is, to me, much more impressive. "....because in the end only the win counts", that is not the basis of this argument. In the end both United and Liverpool won. Just looking at it from a mathematical perspective of being 3-0 down versus 1-0 down is somewhat gullible, in my opinion.
@Vendetta, great! You managed to look up a gif that showed Bayern hitting the post and automatically concluded that they were the unlucky team. Just proves that you did not watch the game, because Bayern were not as dominant as you are making them out to be. And you downright ignored the fact that United was missing Scholes and Keane (our best midfielders) that night through suspension. If that does not constitute bad luck, I don't know what does. And for a Chelsea fan to talk about another team getting lucky against Bayern Munich in a UCL final is hysterical as well as hypocritical at the very least. Keep it up!
@TheGame: I admit we had luck against Bayern and they were by far the better team, but if you think it took us just luck to beat Bayern you were wrong. Our team in 2012 fought harder than they ever have since in the Abramovich era, and we still got pushed around in that match. Can you admit your luck against Bayern in '99?
In the '99 final, I'll admit the first half was yours... In possession. ManUtd were holding possession for a lot of the time but couldn't finish any of their attacks. On the other hand, Bayern Munich used every single chance they got with the ball. They were much more threatening on the ball.
Then the second half kicks off and which does better until injury time? Bayern Munich. So many wasted chances that could have finished off Manchester United. They wasted so many chances and you could thank Schmeichel for his amazing effort in that game. So at least have some dignity and admit it Bayern were the better team.
And btw, Keane is a twat who likes to tackle for fun, what he did to get him suspended in the CL final, I'm sure is deserved.
@devilz: You're golden era is over, Moyes will never replicate what SAF has done for ManUtd. I bet SAF is still the bigger influence at Utd. Don't brag so much until you can see which club will lead England for the next decade.
@V relax, I was joking... People take things waaaay to seriously on this forum. And who says our era is over? You answered it yourself, Don't talk so much until you can see which club will lead in England over the next decade.
@devilz: Oh, lol I thought you were serious, sorry :P
But yeah, you guys might still dominate the next decade but I stand my point that your golden era is over. To simply put it, Moyes will never replicate what SAF has done and wont be is a dominant as SAF was in the CL.
@Antarese
OK. This joke was completely uncalled for...
Don't make us look bad.
@awais007
I do understand Antarese kinda started all of this but you don't have to add fuel to the fire. What does this joke have to with Chelsea? Now I'm not trying confine your right to speak your mind but that doesn't mean you have to worsen a problem. And right now I am very tempted to post about the goals scored against Chelsea that had a negative impact but I am not going to do that because I don't want to worsen this problem. Don't make Chelsea (fans) look bad.
@Everyone arguing about which comeback was better (pointless argument IMO)
Football is about golden moments like these and you guys are arguing about which one is better. That's sad. There is no "answer" as to which comeback is better. There's no "formula" taking into consideration of when the goal was scored, the amount of goals were scored, who was sent off, whether it was a final, semi-final whatever etc... It's all down to opinion, and let me assure you, I've seen so many posts like these on this forum arguing which player, goal, match, moment was better and it's sickening and tiring. There's no point in arguing about this crap. What have you guys earned from this argument? And what the hell was the point of this argument? Are you guys trying to change others opinions? ON the INTERNET? I'm sure all of you guys know it's near damn impossible to try and change someone else's opinion on the INTERNET. I've been a part of these arguments (and I'm not proud of it) but I'm changing. Just stop guys. This picture is the perfect portrait of what you guys look like in real life.
@Antarese I guess you are still bitter about what happen to you guys against Barcelona in 2 UEFA-CL Final.
