^ we cant have Ashley Young starting anymore, even if Di Maria lacks consistency as a winger, it is sadly the most reliable option for Van Gaal.

We can all talk about how Di Maria is a flop, etc etc, but he still had the second-most assists in the BPL despite being benched for almost 1/3rd of the season. Sure he was off-touch at times, but nonetheless he is clearly world-class and should have no trouble being in the starting 11. I think even the premise of a starting 11 is a silly one, because with the league, the FA cup, and the champions league, United need depth, and players like Young can provide that. Remember when we last won the CL? We had Ji-sung Park, Evra, Scholes, Giggs, Hargreaves, Nani, and Pique all as rotational players. That's one hell of a lot of quality, and takes away the need for one, solid, starting 11. You play the players who can do the best on that day, end of story.

Personally Ive always liked this guy, but he is 27 already and we dont need another winger. If he is starting then Di Maria is going to be relegated to the midfield which means that Mata, yet again, will have trouble starting because there is no way to line up Mata and Di Maria both as midfielders.

Also, Sterling and Alves set to follow Gaitan. Love Sterling, hate Alves. Alves could help us during our RB transitions...
