@rai,
I'm sorry, I can tell that my words have offended you, hence you had to respond by telling me your occupation and actual information about a matter that I simply cared not much about since I wasn't the one who actually brought up the Asia and mosquito example in the beginning. But thank you anyway because I guess that was suppose to show that you are quite literal-minded in that topic. Good to know. Moving on...
Once again we're talking about a reoccurring incident by the same instigator here. A punishment given to Suarez is fair enough imo. De Jong didn't get punished, and I too thought it was unfair that he got away with it, but I'm pretty sure Xabi didn't care much about it either since he (removed) the (removed) and DJ didn't, so I'd consider that justice served for the loser that DJ was back then. I also don't seem to recall him doing the same thing over and over again on the pitch afterwards, so I guess he learnt his lesson not to stab people on the chest with his studs in the finals.

Once again we're talking about a reoccurring incident by the same instigator here. A punishment given to Suarez is fair enough, if not, should've been more severely punished imo. De Jong didn't get punished, and I too thought it was unfair that he got away with it, just I'm pretty sure Xabi didn't care much about it either since he won the World Cup and DJ didn't, so would that be enough justice? I also don't seem to recall him doing the same thing over and over again on the pitch afterwards, so I guess he learnt his lesson not to stab people on the chest with his studs in the finals.

@tuan
I remember watching this match , so I just typed Drogba seizure . Poped right out first . Only version with goofy music I could find .
@tuan_jinn:
"I agree it is kinda unfair for Liverpool to also be suffered from this idiotic action, but it's and investment they made, take the good and the bad side out of it."
Exactly what I was thinking! +1
Just because it isn't Liverpool's fault it doesn't mean it's not their responsibility.

WOW. Thanks for the post mate! It was very clear and concise.
@TheGame: Your welcome. :)
I just thought after the popularity of the Suarez bite thread a followup on the punishments and details was needed.
Yeah, Ive heard that it was intentional to force a transfer through to Barca.
It's all just hypocritical. How many times did Zidane headbutt people?
At Bordeaux
Suarez is no Angel, but they have singled him out. I don't know about you guys but I would rather a bite to the shoulder or arm than a headbutt to the face.

There were investigations and Zidane was banned for three matches . It was found that he was absolutely provoked by Matterazzi . Again he should not have done it , but millions of people around the world including me understand why he did it . Can you understand why Suarez bite Chilienni ? For god sake for the third time he bites someone in his career .
Edit: again completely different incidents.

PLus I am sure headbutting is more common than biting people . Players constantly confront each other head to head . It is a normal form of aggression , but biting .... especially without any provocation ...
Why was Zidane not get banned for 10 games after the headbutt to the Hamburg player? 2nd time he did it!
Who knows if Chiellini provoked Suarez. Doesn't give anyone the right to take the law into their own hands. This Suarez ban is total bullshit.
Fifa are under pressure with the WC and accusations of corruption and they used Suarez as a scapegoat to make them seem like an honest organisation.

The funny part of Suarez is that he's denying fact he bit Chiellini.
"I don't think it was important, those things happen on the pitch"
wolfie i agree with you on everything, i even stated the FIFA thing earlier. People just wont come to terms that biting is agression in the same form headbutting kicking punching or anything else is. That fact that the latter are more common does not make it okay. Thats the big problem here.
You can aruge hes done it 3 times, but then how many times have we seen players make similar reckless tackles without learning? its not about teaching a lesson anymore, last time had done just that. This time is fifa trying to seem just and fair when they are under so much scruitny. I hope Uruguay overturns the brutal ban and lowers it down to just 9 national game ban.
add 4 more months to that and would have been perfect. this is better than nothing tho'.
well, Fifa took the bite out of Uruguay's attack...sorry had to say it!
@raim- +1 Absolutely. The bite, headbutt, punch, bad tackle etc is all aggression. How can FIFA classify the bite a more serious offense than other much more brutal incidents? There are players who were consistently dirty players like Roy Keane, van Bommel and Joey Barton. This ban is for damage control. It raises even more questions about the integrity of the WC itself. It is unjust to punish a player this serious when other player have done far worse things over their entire career.
@shpal- I know you are disappointed your team got knocked out but you can't honestly agree with FIFA'S decision. Sure, what Suarez did was wrong, it was stupid action with his past. But it is in no way a special form of aggression. It's aggression and should be treated as such. 1-3 game match ban would have been more than enough.

@Wolfie
in fact i don't agree with FIFA, i would have gone for an 8 months ban.
ok jokes aside, mate, what are we talking about here? a TOP level professional footballer, who bites people on the pitch. i mean seriously? they pay you millions to "play a game", you got childs looking at you as a legend, and what you do? you bite an human being on a football field, during a Wold Cup.
i mean, let's be serious guys. also, what about the "form of aggression" thingy? ok an elbow, a takle are forms of aggression too, in fact i'd punish them accordingly. you got all the technology to evaluate cases; to say that ALL the elbows are aggression is ignorant, but yea, a volutary elbow in the face with the sole purpouse of hurting an opponent, it's equally punishable as the bite: 8 months. same goes for any intentional tacke which breaks careers.
Zidane's headbutt? not an 8 month punishment case.
let's not generalize guys, too easy.
the wrong thing here, it's not the fact that this punishment for Suarez exaggerated, the wrong thing is that the aforementioned alternative bad forms of aggresion aren't punished accordingly with their level of viciousness.

@shpalman, would you not say that a bite is worse though? I feel like when an adult gets to a point where he bites someone, he has truly lost his head and is only acting on primitive animalistic instinct. A bite is not equivalent to a headbutt or a punch IMO, not even if they are all true acts of aggression. A bite is, to me, a less severe version of stabbing someone with a knife. The world was in shock, and rightfully so, when Tyson bit Evander Holyfield, but no one cared when they were punching each others heads out.
@TheGame
depends on the kind of headbutt or punch. i was talking about elbows and tackles which can hurt way more than a punch. an headbutt can still kill you but you need to know how to do that. in any case yes a bite is a very serious case of violence and a sad signal of mental issues.
in my opinion one always needs to examine things based on the specific case. the bite is level 9 violence. a tackle can be level 3...or it can be level 9 as well, like the bite. depends on the situation.

This means he can't play for Liverpool until the 1st of November. He will also miss the first 3 matches of the Champions League.
Serves him right.
