So help me out here, fellas. I'm trying to make a list of the best players I have seen live (truly great ones), and here's the list I have compiled so far. I made the list in like 15 minutes, so I haven't thought it out very well.

I'd like to think that, if we were to watch football from 1950 to 2017, we'd be able to name more than just Maldini and Baresi as being better defenders than John Terry. :')

Yeah, it's a shame. :(

Still, I'd like to think my knowledge of football's history is well enough for me to name more than two quality defenders (without bias to Chelsea, I may also add!) better than Terry.

may i ask why you started watching football from 2008?

no defender is better than terry except baresi and maldini with puyol at the same level and i would add fernando hierro too.

So the short answer as to why he started watching football in 2008 is because its was close to the moment he was exposed to it. A bit like I waited almost a full year after watching world cup 2014 to start watching football seriously.

This might be a bit unpopular opinion but I would put Modric above Gerard.

ANDDDDD!!!!!
And where is David Beckham? I still miss a player who doesn't have to be perfect in dribbling but offer something out of extraordinary. Some thing that he did game in game out and you can just expect something spectacular.

His style was unique until this day, just like Messi, Ronaldinho or the 2 Ronaldo, you can recognize from distant or with half your eyes close.

I never said you did, I added it because those two were better than Terry imo, just like Puyol was imo.
