Just wondering why BPL fans don't want other BPL teams to succeed in Champions League, when for example in Ligue 1 (& I think Bundesliga) they root for each other.
It was pretty strange (in a positive way) to see AS Monaco's and PSG's twitter accounts tweeting congratulations to each other, and also teams like St.Etienne congratulated PSG too.

I'm not 100% sure of what La Liga fans do, I think atleast Barca fans don't want RMA to succeed and the other way round, due to their rivalry.

Not going to give my opinion very deeply, but (if I forget Arsenal) I like to see teams that play great football and show big heart/fight in their games to succeed in UCL.

Just thought this is quite an interesting topic.

I for one certainly want other PL teams to succeed in CL. Was totally hoping that Arsenal would go through yesterday because they deserved it.

well I'm now one of the fans who don't want other english teams succeeding in europe and this only changed recently after seeing how fans of epl react when chelsea goes out
@KTBFFHSWE how did they deserve it??? if they played well in the 2nd leg, monaco played well in the first, so both of them deserved equally imo

I agree with @bluezz.. Prior to the shit you gave us after we've been eliminated, I've always cheered for English teams. Now, I don't care anymore if they advance or not.

I'm going to speak for my self. You know that I don't love Chelsea much but. I would cheer for Chelsea to go through if they played nice attacking football. I just can't cheer for a team which don't even tries to score. It was nice from few Chelsea fans which were actually cheering for Arsenal to go through. But I accept it that you don't want us to go through, when a lot of us were so happy that you went out.

Well, it's quite an interesting topic. I never hoped for any team (I mean Chelsea, City, United etc.) to lose. I would like if City for example wins against Barca and pass through (but hard likely). BPL is many years behind La Liga, but we have many top-class teams which can do it. Chelsea for example, wasn't best against PSG, but I hoped for their win. Barca is too good for City, but with 2 goals City can do it. Arsenal was very close this year. United didn't qualify.

So, I never hoped FOR ANY BPL team to lose. I hoped for their victory because it's very important for BPL teams to play class football in UCL and pass to quarter-finals (at least).

For this year most likely no English team will be in quarter-finals, while two French will.

Even tho barca is our arch rivals, it would suck to not have them in the CL. I am not going to make shit up and tell you rm root for them and crap. This is football baby we always want spanish teams in the CL. But they do not need our support they have thier fans for that. In the CL its every man for himself. Wish them the best of lucka but come the day we meet i wish to see a great game but the Worst of luck for them :p.

I am always with la liga, I remember when dortmund won 4-1 against us and Batten beat barca 4-0, I swear I was with barca and Madrid, I hope and prayed messi tears bayren defence so bad that I was cheering for barca like I was an actual fan, but sadly barca nor Madrid qualified to the finals

@bluezz Monaco was lucky to go through. They weren't better in the first game. Just one of those games where everything seemed to get in. Arsenal were good in the previous game while Monaco had 34% possession, 0 corners and 1 shot on the entire game.

If we couldn't make it I rather have another English team making it because it will be better football and funnier to watch.

Well let me ask you this, does being a fan of a team make you an automatic supporter of every team? Even more so if you don't identify yourself as English (in case of BPL). I would pick my own nation's team to advance (if possible) over a foreign league.

In terms of CL I rather see teams that deserve to go through, go through. And its best when there is some serious heavy weights left (Bayern, Barca, Madrid, Chelsea, etc).

Agree with Chelsea fans above except @Ktbffh , Chelseea fans were giving support to EPL clubs all the time . It is you along with Arsenal fans , who started to give sh*t to us . So, why I should we care now ? I myself don't give a crap anymore. And If City looses today , then good too !

@Marcus2011 You look only on Arsenal trollers. I never look on Chelsea or United trollers. But comments from reasonable Arsenal fans were different. Didn't you notice that reasonable Arsenal fans mostly gave only critics, not trolls or any offensive comments? I saw more United trolls than Arsenal trolls there. There were banters, but not real trolls.

I've said before, I am glad that Chelsea got knocked out, because they didn't deserve to go through and played really dirty. It would be whole different case, had they NOT played dirty and would've played proper football.

On the Monaco game fixture, one team was better one game and the other team the other game, over 180 minutes it was an even fixture and you cant talk away the fact that it ended 3-3, both teams deserved to go through but only one can. But its sad for Arsenal not making it aginst the weakest of the 16 teams..

And on supporting Leagues, there is nothing wierd with that imo and i support La Liga ofc.. and gotta admit, it feels good having 3 La Liga teams in the quarters and 0 English as it was in 2013 aswell, soon PL will have 2 direct CL direct spots to CL instead of 3, if i was a PL fan i would not want Juve and the italian EL teams to make it to the finals

I support all PL teams (except City) in the CL, but when we come up against them then obviously not. Would've love to have Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in the semis.
