Just wondering why BPL fans don't want other BPL teams to succeed in Champions League, when for example in Ligue 1 (& I think Bundesliga) they root for each other.
It was pretty strange (in a positive way) to see AS Monaco's and PSG's twitter accounts tweeting congratulations to each other, and also teams like St.Etienne congratulated PSG too.

I'm not 100% sure of what La Liga fans do, I think atleast Barca fans don't want RMA to succeed and the other way round, due to their rivalry.

Not going to give my opinion very deeply, but (if I forget Arsenal) I like to see teams that play great football and show big heart/fight in their games to succeed in UCL.

Just thought this is quite an interesting topic.

I support PL clubs but I hate City so there's that... Also hate Chelsea (some times) I just support the team that deserves the most to go through. Chelsea fans will always act like they are the most hated club and that they are persecuted by media more than anyone else but just like we saw in the las fixture, EVERYONE supported PSG because they were the underdogs and they were more deserving of going through.

I have ALWAYS supported and rooting for EPL's team, for the sake of EPL. Unless it's really undeserved.

See tuanis it is very simple . We took United's place , but if one can be very objective, we are not quiet like United, because United was always getting good share of favored decisions from referees . Stability that was build in 20 years . Many stats will back this up and even Sir Alex does not hide it anymore in his books by slightly hinting .

We do have credible STATS backing case that referee were much more lenient to other teams when they faced us . Ofcourse it is not entirely true but when team has a player who is most fouled in the world but gets almost no one sent off ( even with accumulated yellow cards ) and got us only two penalties in domestic league . Just last game against Sottos we were again denied from clear cut penalty . You United would have been going crazy . Does not Louis Van Gaal go furious when slightly things go not his way from referee direction ?

So, conclusion is people don't like the way we play and win our matches within our style and They hate our manager Jose Mourinho because he gets under everyones skin and then on top he wins with his team to make things even worse for haters . Fine , but no need to cover it up with BS, saying as the fans are the problem and us complaining about referee is the problem . Every club manager complains about referees , but Chelsea makes the headlines because we have very flashy Manager who says things that are on his mind . He has stats to believe in whatever he says and I agree with 95% of things he says , because i watched his career since Porto , and he is rarely wrong but he gets ridiculed but in the end people realize how much right he really was .

You know PSG players and their coach would have found your words very offensive after building such a squad and investing big money . They truly did deserve to go through after their fighting performance . However, let's say that the tackle that Ibra received was fair one and Oscar in fact get's terrible attack ( which I thought it was , but for sake of argument lets assume hence you dont believe so ) , would you still say PSG deserved to go through ? With exactly same performance from the players , just except the fact that Ibra deserved to go out and the team fought for their 2-2 draw , would they still deserve ?

I don't give much for that the game would be rigged somehow against Chelsea through some sort of campaign on the pitch.. Yes we've only had 2 penalties awarded but so what? United has only had 2 as well but 4 against them.. I agree that the referees should pay closer attention to Hazard however.. because the amount of tackles on him are just ridiculous.. and I agree that there's a campaign against Chelsea outside the pitch in the MEDIA and on forums like this because the amount of negative attention Chelsea is getting is way above the level of any other PL team!

Anyways, back to the topic of the thread; Tonight I'll cheer on Everton! Really hope they'll win against Dynamo Kiev!

Just look at it mate . Teams that surrounded referee bullied them happened in two days of CL match game. Happened yesterday in CIty and Barcelona game but NONE gave so much publicity !! NOTHING , NADA !

Yet they are still have a nerve to bash Chelsea for little pressure on referee who should be world class at handling such incidents . Chelsea asked for yellow , he gave red . We did it once ! THey do that every week ! We did not do it to Barnes who almost ended Matic career, and we saw what happened , instead of Barnes leaving the field , it was Matic !!

@decentk PSG played way dirtier than Chelsea and still you only uploaded videos of Chelsea playing dirty while trying to make Chelsea the black sheep even though we lost. Hm, that's odd.

This thread has helped people realize why Chelsea gets so much hate. Not accepting a team like PSG were the underdogs of the fixture and then Marcus saying out of nowhere that they took United's place, dont know what place you are referring to, and then claiming United got helped by referees and Chelsea the other way around... that was just what this thread needed, some Chelsea fans and their nonsense.

EPL fans in general support other EPL clubs no matter what just for the sake of the league's reputation, but there are always reasons to support or hate clubs in specific fixtures.

I actually ''dont like'' ( hate is a big word ) Chelsea for many reasons, first is the persecution toward Barça, for more than 5 years...
their fans are whining experts, i guess they whine more than Mourinho who at times give some hidden fair play post game communication after a defeat, with Chelsea, a defeat is = ref = rival fault = something non whistled....etc
The second thing is their selective memory, always remember things not on their side, i heard no one feeling disgraced about the penalty denied on 1 st leg, then they play vs PSG the whole game with 11+home advantage VS 10 men who need to come back, get a penalty and score it. And at the end making the call on Costa fouled in Pk area as the reason they were out. Probably waited Mourinho press conference to finally admit PSG deserved it.

Secondly Chelsea is the biggest budget team in the world that plays '' parking bus '' against sometimes teams not superior to them, at home at times, as a fan of Attacking Football, waiting for fixtures for weeks to finally see a no match.

Third, Mourinho, i respect him but i dont like him, im not fan of his vision about the result matter the most, for me if you dont play as a big team, you're not a big team even if you make results at times ( Mou methods does not always work )
His mind games before games are disgusting, he knows when his team will play dirty and put pressure on the ref each important game to take benefit from it.

But i think the most important was their hate toward Barça, plus they are the best haters of Messi or at least they were, he STFU to all his haters lately right Marcus ?:)

So yes at the start, no hard feelings toward them, you cant love a team that wish you defeat each single time and tarnishing the team you support for years for just one game where ref has made mistakes not even Barça, ignoring all the good calls given to them...

No, things are clear now, my point looked odd for a while, he is just mainstream now, even PL fans admit it, so i dont have to say it each time, when the truth is known there is no need to say it or banter and i guess Lodatz and his bias is atually shaking his head at the moment, if you can write in his wall, tell him to comeback i wont banter him if stops insulting me....

I would support Barcelona in the Champions League, provided that they are not facing Real. Same goes for any other La Liga team. For example, I was supporting Barca during their tie with Manchester City, and Atletico during their tie with Leverkusen.
