How will Danny Welbeck do at Arsenal?

so as we know we have panic bought welbeck as a backup for Giroud as he is injured till January. How do you think he'll do? United fans tell me if he's good cos I've watched him a couple of times he was best player for united against Real madrid in the 2012-13 ucl game and he was a threat vs bayern munich last season as he caused problems for Dante and Boateng but Neuer catched his chip. The thing he's missing is composure to shoot and he needs to improve his shooting. Also his first touch is dreadful. I think he will adapt well since he knows the BPL well and he will have a easy time adjusting with English players such as Wilshere,Gibbs,Chambers,Walcott,Chamberlain he wont find it hard to communicate. He was wasted at united on the bench as RVP And Rooney started ahead of him. A good target for him would be to get atleast 15 goals this season with Ozil,Cazorla,Sanchez,Wilshere,Ramsey,Walcoot ( coming back soon ) alll being to provide balls to him.

Just a few hours after signing for Arsenal on deadline day, Danny Welbeck has picked up a knock in training while on England duty. The injury is not thought to be serious but he is expected to miss Wednesday's clash with Norway. Just a few hours and he turned into a real Arsenal player.

I actually think he do well. Especially now that he has a good winger giving him crosses and the likes of Ozil and Cazorla feeding him.

Arsenal should sign new medical team , because seems like every player that comes to Arsenal becomes injury prone.

From what I've seen I'm not expecting him to be better than Giroud. I was in rage when Welbeck was our only signing of deadline day.. We can only hope Wenger will do some magic, like Rodgers did with Sturridge.

@Marcus Well, it's not Arsenal fault if he picked up a knock in training right? Arsenal signed new medic from Germany national team.

welbeck is a slight improvrment over giroud. Giroud has no pace and cant get behind defenders. with welbz his team mates will actually be able to run with the pace of welbz. sanchez walcott,ox cant wait for snail giroud to catch up the attacks but with welbs its ideal now. Finishing is a little concern and welbeck aint that good at hold up play but overall its good. especially at 23 welbeck still has tons of time to improve.

He'll do well and fit the system well. You guys have a good player.
He's not only an out and out striker but a player that links the attacking and the midfield well with his pace and skill.
Goodbye welbz. You will always be dat guy. :'(

Better than who have there currently. I will be surprised if he doesn't score 20 goals this season.

I'm glad he's ours. He was pretty cheap too, 16m for an english striker, young, from a direct rival, on deadline day and when manutd knew exactly that we desperatly needed a striker. Arsenal who are upset because we didn't sign falcao are crazy. His wages are rumoured to be around 320K/week, our highest earner is ozil at 140K/week, we just CAN'T afford falcao.

I honestly quite liked welbeck before, and I think he'll do well. He can become our sturridge, or something like that. If he's good enough to challenge giroud for his spot this season that's good enough for now. If he grows under wenger and gets even better in the following seasons that would be amazing.

@spanish
I think it started from Ravel Morrison's tweet (https://twitter.com/morrisonravel/status/301784635115978752)
and it just kinda became a thing.
Another tweet that's kinda related too (http://twitter.com/morrisonravel/status/156005666631323649)

I think I read somewhere that Ravel was a childhood friend of Welbz and seeing he said this, we jumped on the bandwagon and I guess it makes us feel closer to him. It also sounds nice.

Bad deal imo for united. Youve got 3 strikees getting into their early 30's now and welbz was a homegrown mancunian through safs ranks. i wonder how he feels after spending 15 years at united ever since he was 8. wouldve been a good player as RVP is becoming injury prone again.

Good player who wasn't fit for our system. I think he went to the right club to showcase his true talent. 16M for him is a good deal IMO.

Yea, whole interview:

Danny, how does it feel to be an Arsenal Player?
It's exciting times for me. It's great to be a part of this club and it's a team that I've always watched in the Premier League. I've envisaged myself playing in this team before. For it to finally happen is very exciting.

**When you say you picture yourself in the team, is that because of the way Arsenal play and you see yourself as a striker going on to those through balls?
**I believe the style of play the manager's got and the boys play and with the magnificent players in midfield slotting balls through, I can run on to the end of those balls and slot them away.

How did the move unfold from your perspective?
It went right down to the wire in the end. It's difficult to say how I felt at the [different] times of each day because the deal was on and then it was off but at the end of the day I'm an Arsenal player and I couldn't be any happier at the moment.

Do you sense that Arsenal are a club on the up?
Yeah definitely. They've done well in recent years and last year we got the FA Cup and I feel like it's time where we could really push on and try and challenge for the Premier League title. I've got one medal and it's something that I really want to add to.

Arsenal fans will know your name and will have seen you play. What are your strengths - what can you can bring to this team?
I'd like to bring pace and power to the game. At Arsenal, we're not short of combination football and I like to join in on that and get in behind defenders and try to get shots off at goal. I want to score some goals and help the team to achieve the right results.

You're still a young man but you've got a lot of experience at the top level already. In what way can this move take your career to the next level?
I've been at United ever since I was a little boy and I had a great time there. I just think this is the next stage of my development - to come to Arsenal, to really show people what I can do as a footballer and hopefully get to the place where I want to be.

You had been at Manchester United for most of your life, so it must have been difficult to leave...
Things move on in life and I think you've really got to make the right decision in the situation that you're in at that moment in time. I really do believe that coming to Arsenal is the right decision.

Keep in mind that Liverpool sign Mario Balotelli for the same amount.

^ If you think Balotelli is world class you are absolutely crazy . The guy cant even control his own behaviour and one match he's great the next match he's piss poor. If you watched Tottenham vs Liverpool last weekend Balotelli missed 3 clear cut chances which welbeck would score atleast one of those chances . Balotelli missed 2 headers in the 6 yard box and missed an open goal from 20 yards or so.
