@Lodatz Thanks for the website link! :)

@MRarsenal500 Arsenal spent £393,390,000 and so the others clubs spent less or more like Chelsea spent about 800 millions in total but it's not about the amount because the transfer fees isn't like before the one that worth 5 millions before worth about 40 millions now.. There is nothing wrong with buying players "Young talents are preferable tho" as for the amount, It doesn't really matter we are not paying it from your wallet it's the club owners money. There is no club that won a major trophy without spending a lot of money "Even a million is a lot of money" C. Ronaldo's transfer fee was £80 millions and that's just for one player. Give the same amount to Spurs or Arsenal and they will buy a whole starting 11.

How Real Madrid Spent a Billion Euros on Transfer Fees

Here’s a stat for you: Real Madrid’s total transfer spending this century has 10 digits and three commas. Marca calculates that since Florentino Perez first took over as President in the summer of 2000, the total of combined transfer fees paid out comes to a wallet-weakening 1,022,000,000 euros. That’s a billion euros. Or at least it’s a billion euros for those of us using the short scale system. In the long scale system it’s a thousand million euros. Which is still a lot of euros.
So what do you get for a billion euros? The players purchased by Real in the past decade include: Luis Figo €60m, Zinedine Zidane €72m, Ronaldo (Original) €45m, David Beckham €35m, Robinho €25m, Arjen Robben €36m, Wesley Sneijder €25m, Cristiano Ronaldo €96m, Kaka €64m and many many more. There are a few questionable purchases mixed in there, like €20m spent on an injured Jonathan Woodgate and another €20m on Julio Baptista. But Real Madrid have mostly paid big money for quality footballers.

I’m not judging here. The figure would be a lot less if we factored in transfer fees received for selling players and money earned from selling Real Madrid jerseys bearing names like Zidane, Beckham and either of the Ronaldos. So the point here isn’t that Real Madrid wasted a billion euros. They didn’t. The point is just to marvel at what’s been a monumental century in terms of money spent on transfer fees, with Real Madrid leading the way. So far anyway.
According to Marca, Real’s rivals Barcelona spent €713m in that same 2000-2010 period, while Chelsea spent €650m. Kerching. However, all are made to look like the sort of cheapskates who don’t order anything for dinner but then pick at the food on your plate next to Manchester City, whose new owners have already spent €400m in three seasons since taking over.
So meet me back here in two years time, and we’ll see if Man City’s semi-inevitable Champions League qualification and subsequent spending spree, plus inevitable transfer market inflation leads to Man City equalling Madrid’s billion dollar spend, but in half the time.

@AlexBatak

From what I've heard and seen, Real Madrid earned 513 (give or take) Million Euros JUST LAST SEASON ALONE. And  how much do you want to bet that quite a bit came from selling Ronaldo jerseys? I bought one myself a few weeks ago. Cost me 71 Euros. Now multiply that by a million, and you have almost the entire transfer fee paid for Ronaldo back into your hands. Although I'm sure that there's much more than 1 million people buying authentic Ronaldo jerseys per year, it still is an unbelievable profit.

Football in a business to club owners. Madrid, Barcelona, United, and Chelsea happen to be at the top of that business tree. They have enough TV coverage worldwide to last them a lifetime, and that helps people recognize their players more and want to buy their jerseys.

Just look at Bayern. Bayern are undoubtedly the best club in the world at the moment. But yet, they do not receive the attention or praise from fans in the US. Why? Because they do not receive enough coverage of their games. Out of over 300 Million people living in the US, 30 Million (approximately) watch soccer/football regularly. They receive full coverage from the EPL due to lack of language barriers and all Barcelona and Real Madrid matches are covered by US channels too. But what about the Bundesliga? Only GolTV covers Bayern, Schalke, and Dortmund matches.

Imagine if Bayern received as much attention in the US as United or Barca do. Imagine all those Ribery, Muller, and Schweinsteiger jerseys that they would sell. It will mark a substantial increase in their profits. They will have much more money to spend on players, and would be able to buy better players to get even MORE exposure and sell even MORE jerseys.

Now the point I'm trying to make is, Arsenal (@MRarsenal) need to spend more if they want profits, but an Arab owner is not the way to go. Then Gunners' fans will just be a flock of bandwagons. That's not what you want. Your club has history, and you want it back. And rightly so, but you shouldn't turn to an oil-rich company for aid. That's not how football should be played. Start by buying better players for success. Not just young players like the Ox, but more RECOGNIZED players, like Cazorla (honestly, how many people do you expect to buy Walcott jerseys every year compared to Bale jerseys? And what about Vermaelen jerseys compared to Pique jerseys? Not much). THEN, you have a backbone for success. You will reel in more money, and this will aid you to success in a few years. Realize that Madrid and Chelsea don't go around spending buckets of cash for no reason. They buy quality players, and in turn earn ALL that money back (and more) from merely selling their jerseys. Money makes the world go 'round, people. :P

Just to nitpick, Dynast, I really don't think that the US market is affecting that much. I think it's more to do with Asia and South America.

@Lodatz

That's true as well. I remember that Real Madrid 7-1 Osasuna match was played early in the morning in Spain JUST for Chinese audiences. And imagine 2 billion people watching you play. O.O

I'm sure they sold a hell of a lot Ronaldo jerseys just off that one match.

@Dynastian I agree with all what you said mate :) As for Arsenal I think by having a rich owner they will at least not sell their best quality players anymore if that arab owner were there A. Cole, RVP, Fabregas, Nasri etc. would't have left the club and I'm pretty sure they would have achieved something the last 8 years with them. I don't see why people think they will become like PSG, City or any other club as if it's something really bad. all i meant is that every club is buying players so why not Arsenal buy some quality players? the trolls who says P$G, Manche$ter City, Chel$ea etc. are just a kids for not realizing that their club has that "$" in their name. :)
