Woodward just redeemed himself a little, lol...but we are still in need for defenders. Hopefully we can either sign more players, or LVG can bring the best out of our current defenders! Blackett looks solid!

If Di maria didnt get injured in WC, Argentina would have won WC no doubt.
Important asists in importan games, i dont know James will be better but its not the same style of player.
IMO this is a mistake.

@Heisenburg I kinda agree
Blacket >>>>> Smalling >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jones
the sore grapes from RM fans on here is surprising considering he has arguably been Madrid's second best player for the last two seasons. The same was said of Ozil last year. As for consistency, Robben turned out pretty well, didnt he?
On his attitude, I'd be pretty upset with the administration if I kept getting who*ed out to potential buyers everytime my team thinks of buying a new "Galactico". He was up for sale last summer to pay for Bale, then up for sale this summer to pay for James, who I still think is well below Di Maria's quality. and NO..Reus is not better than Di Maria

The fact is that Angel gives his incredible potential to the collective, both Bale and James have individual ambitions and tend to shoot rather than secure a goal with an assist. It will depend on James adaptation and it could be a genious replacement but Angel was a beast against important rivals...
If RM fans are happy with the money then its alright, Barça fans are even happier for his departure.
This is a good thing for the club. Di Maria is a beast and a very good deal for any club. But no one is bigger then the club and in time we will find a solution within the squad If not pretty sure we will get a one that is possiboly better. Reus i would say is my dream replacement.
@ Dynastian98, it's ridiculous to say that, paid a buy-out clause don't guaranteed the player's decision to move...
You look like a hater, the only garbage is what you said, Di Maria still one of the best winger in the world, no way to argue...
Manchester United may have to spend a staggering €188 million to wrap up a deal for Real Madrid forward Angel Di Maria... (according to Goal) I know it's a done deal, but the deal include wages etc... I love seeing him in MU shirt for sure, and Im glad we need him now, Young has been horrible... but 188???
"the sore grapes from RM fans on here is surprising considering he has arguably been Madrid's second best player for the last two seasons"
Hilarious coming from people who don't even watch Real Madrid play. He was sh*t in 2012/13, Mourinho hated him too. He barely featured in the beginning of 2013/14 because his performances were garbage. I didn't say di Maria is a bad player, just an incredibly inconsistent one. You United fans have fun with him. He'll be excellent as a CM, and unbelievably inconsistent as a winger.
@Keisuke
Watch some football before you say anything. di Maria is too inconsistent as a winger. Best wingers would be players like Ronaldo, Bale, Robben, Reus, Muller, Ribery, Hazard.... etc.

^ Comes from the quote by Zidane after Madrid sold Makelele.
"Why put another layer of gold on the Bentley when you are losing the engine?"
Or in other words, why purchase David Beckham when you are losing Claude Makelele?

You just like most bitter Madrid fans can't come to terms that half of the best players in Real appreciated Mourinho .
Read this article please from Di Maria . Don't make up stuff to back your arguments .
Mourinho made me a better player. He showed me many things and made me grow as a footballer. He helped me to move into a different position, to sacrifice myself more for the team," Di Maria told Diario Ole.
"I'm very grateful to him. He told me that, at Real, I was a forward that could also defend and that I couldn't rest when they were on the attack.
"As I was performing under him for the three years he was at Madrid he put me in the starting line-up. The Di Maria playing down the middle compared to the one now is a different player, both technically and tactically."

@Marcus
Lol, where did hating Mourinho come into this?
Of course half of the best players in Real appreciated Mou. That's the problem. Why do you think everyone said the dressing room was 'divided'? It was divided into the players that Mou bought (loved him), and the 'other' group of players that hated him (Ronaldo, Alonso, Casillas, Ramos). Players like Ozil, Khedira, and di Maria like Mourinho because he bought them and made them who they are today.
You are the only one who blindly loves Mourinho in this forum. I think it's enough about this argument. Can we end this? Mourinho was a mixed story for Real. He succeeded in overthrowing Barcelona, but failed at winning the fans, failed at keeping the players on his side, and failed to win the Champions League.

Well I guess that's that. Rumors have it that Ronaldo and Ramos both personally requested Perez to keep di Maria, but there's nothing we can do about it since di Maria wants to leave.
Feel bad for Ronaldo. Lost Ozil first, and now di Maria. Poor guy begged Perez to keep both of them, and now he doesn't have either.
DiMaria is a good player, but I agree with Dynastian that he has been highly inconsistent. The more pressing need is a CM at this moment, and I do not know why that issue is not being addressed! LVG knows that Herrera/Fletcher combo will not long last. I do not trust Carrick either.I would rather have spent that amount to get Vidal/Strootman. United's transfers this summer have been good so far, and while DiMaria is an excellent player, this is not who we need at this moment.
" he had poor relations with both Mourinho and Ancelotti "
Your words not mine . lol do not make go back and find many other things you said about Mourinho in other forum topics. Demonizing him and talking as if he ruined Madrid . You need to keep track of what you write .
Ehh Ronaldo and Alonso hated him ? You again making stuff up . Are you working for Marca ? Alonso is top professional and always backed manager no matter what , and Mourinho was no exception , I would say especially Mourinho. Here is view from Alonso on
<< "Yes, absolutely," he replied, when asked if Mourinho was still special.
"You see that Jose has something different. The way that he communicates with the players, it's different. The way he empathises with the players as well is different."That is why you want to be behind him, why you want to play and fight for him on the pitch. The players believe in him."
source is most obvious Goal.com >>
Player who was against Mourinho would not say such things .
And Ronaldo , as far as I remember it was Ronaldo who had a confrontation with Casillas , who used to go home and tell stuff to his journalist girlfriend about things that went on in dressing room . What kind of man does such thing ? Not going to even mention that he is professional . Here is Ronaldo about Mourinho
<< But now the 28-year-old former Manchester United man insists that he does not hold a grudge and would not snub a reunion with his compatriot according to goal.com.
"Forgive Mourinho? I forgive everyone. We never had a confrontation and I have never spoken ill about anyone," he told A Bola TV.

Failing to win over fans ? Just wait and see how fans of yours , will throw Ancelotti under the bus too as things go even more wrong . Blaming Carlo for Ozil and Di Maria sales and how the team is ruined. Just remember my words , madrid fans are quick to change their opinion about anyone . Sh*t , they did not like Ronaldo and booed him too , until Mourinho turned him into scoring machine .
It was simply power of Marca newspaper , Casillas , Ramos and few others Madrid members who had influence in the board . To create unrest , and turn things upside down with constant info leaks . You claim to be madrid fan but constantly make up stuff about players just to back your stuff up . At least keep up with a news .
And Nah everytime you mention his name in bad light and back it up with BS , I will be right there to hit back mate ;)
@Marcus
Well and truly said. You're probably right, I must've got my sources from Marca. They do tend to make up things, and it's my fault I believe the lies about Alonso and Ronaldo.
We won't throw Ancelotti in with Mourinho, believe me. We loved Jose in the first two seasons. But when he started to have divisions in his squad in his final season, we definitely had problems. In the end, Mourinho made his own demise in Madrid, simple as that. Ancelotti has never said or done anything against his players throughout his entire career, and he's also won us the Decima. We might blame him for his faults, but we will never hate him.
However, Madrid fans do not blame Carlo for either Ozil or di Maria sales. We blame Perez for Ozil, but forgave him because Bale exceeded expectations. We do not know anything about how di Maria's departure will turn out, but it was Angel's own choice to leave.

I know my stuff about Madrid. I do not 'claim' to be anything. A matter of fact, I don't 'claim' to know much about Chelsea at all. Maybe you should also be careful when you 'claim' to know more about Madrid than I do. ;)

I love how every time that a player shines for Real or Barca, they're hailed as the best in the world. Then, when they get bought by a PL team, suddenly the fans of the team they came from automatically start coming up with reasons as to why they weren't REALLY that good, and so therefore wont be missed, etc etc.
Di Maria will be a good addition to United. Not sure who he is going to replace, but that's LvG's problem.
He is only being sold because Perez bought in James and Kroos, just as Ozil was only sold because Bale arrived, and even mighty Madrid need to get funds back. Any other reasons given are straight out of the Marca propaganda machine (read: a bunch of crap). ;)
I think he's going to have a rough time in the PL, to be honest. He's not used to defenders actually keeping up with him. Maybe in a season's time he'll be adjusted, but I caution United fans against expecting too much of him in his first season.

It's the same reason as it it always is: bias.
