What are the odds for such coincidence?? I think Chelsea will have to win because it's Rafa's last match with them and they definitely want 3rd place. Arsenal want to secure any CL spot as long as they are above Tottenham. So highly doubt such result

It wont happen but it would be pretty interesting if it did. It would also be very cruel on Chelsea if we manage to beat them in this ''play off'' and take third place because they've already beaten us home and away this season and for me personally it just wouldn't feel right.

@COYS:

Even if the worst happens, I don't consider it so bad. Think about our season, with the items to remember:

  1. It is AVB's first season in charge
  2. We lost the creative heart of our team (Modric and VDV) before a ball was kicked
  3. Our best defender from last season (Kaboul) has been out injured this entire season
  4. It is AVB's first season in charge
  5. We defeated every top team except Chelsea, and were the only team United didn't beat
  6. We lost one of the best DMs in the league (Sandro) to injury for half the season
  7. The PFA, YPFA, FWA and Barclays footballer of the year (Bale) who is happy at our club
  8. It is AVB's first season in charge
  9. Arsenal needed a 3-month run of playing one game a week to catch us up (only 1 point ahead, too)
  10. Our long-time captain and defensive icon (King) retired last year
  11. We have had our two strikers fit at the same time for only 28% of the season
  12. If we win on Sunday, it will be out highest EVER Premier League points tally

And did I mention it is AVB's first season in charge?

If the 'worst' is 5th, considering everything above, then I'm fairly happy about that, and for the first time in years, I am really looking forward to next season regardless of where we finish.

Can Arsenal fans say the same? Will they be as 'happy' with their season as we can be, if they come 5th?

You know they're not. They're scared sh*tless of it. ;) Wouldn't trade places with them for the world.

Oh, and I forgot:

13: We got to the QF of the Europa league with our reserve goalkeeper (plus a mainly reserve defense), beating Lyons and Inter Milan along the way, and only losing on penalties to an excellent Basel side without our two best players

If we can pick up some better depth in our squad, and a couple of really good offensive signings, then we're going to be in business, baby.
