Bayern got a lot of injuries, even tho it's really unlikely to happen, would be great to see Porto make hard times for Bayern.
No. However, I'm sure Porto will be respected much more afterwards because I predict they will sacrifice their mind and body in order to challenge Bayern. I love it when teams give it their all, but that is unfortunately the most Porto will be able to do.
Over 2 legs its quite impossible, they dont need one perfect game but 2...
Porto are really strong but they are still youngsters, even if they are experienced i barely see them pass arguably the strongest team in Europe...
They need some exceptional circumstances, a Bayern player early red carded or a good first leg result and a heroical 2 nd leg with scoring in a counter against arguably the best keeper in the world.
With Bayern experience and their ambition to erase last year fail against Madrid, they will face a strong team with no apparent weakness and too many weapons against many styles and probably wont commit stupid mistakes...
Imo its far from a coin flip or 70-30 situation, Bayern looks like to Aces ( American Air lines ) while Porto looks to a suited connected hand 7-8...
I give them 10% chances, they could pass 1 time out of 10 because it will mainly depend on game circumstances, with them very lucky and Bayern unlucky...
I dont question their strenght, nor their quality, but they just got the worst draw of the quarters...
Nope, but fortunately, in football anything can happen : ))
I don't think they will pull those beautiful passes against compact Bayern . It will be very difficult but it is CL so anything can happen . Did not their manager had like two back to back European under 21 Championships . That highlights experience might be great in knockout stages .
of course they can lol.. beating bayern is not impossible and this is football :)
Well, I'd say NO. No way. Even though it was a really fine performance (I assume - only watched the headlights), you got to remember that Estroil is a below mid table team in Portugal that hadn't won in 9 games of which 6 were lost after the game. Then the 8-0 game against Hamburger a month ago or so is more impressive for Bayern.
However, I'm sure though that Porto will be a hard nut to crack away the first game. I think Bayern will win both legs so maybe Porto to score first? and Bayern to win the same game? 8 times the money on that fellas..
Thanks guys for your opinions! So the situation is this with players out for both teams:
Porto injuries
Bayern injuries
Well if we compare these two teams Bayern is better, but Porto can do suprise. I hope them to proceed into semis.
Brain says no, heart says yes. everyone hopes Porto go through because theyre underdogs and play beautiful football, and Julen Lopetegui is a very good coach. I see Bayern as very eager to forget last season's defeat but will see.
I give Porto %27 chance to eliminate Bayern, %37 chance to beat if Robben plays. If not %36 -%47, respectively :D
@emrecan: So you give Porto more chance if Robben plays? Shouldnt it be opposite xD and I dont think 36 + 47 gives 100 so you may want to reconsider those percentages. ;)
I don't think you understand my comment. If Robben plays: % 27; if not : % 36 . and the other percentages are for Porto to beat Bayern.
I dont think I understand.. it seems like you mean the 27 and 36 percentages are for Porto to beat Bayern and also the 36 and 47 percentages. Cant we just say it's this easy:
Example: Bayern to win 75 %, Porto to win 25 %
I gave Porto different percentages
Porto winning at least one of the games: (%37 if Robben plays; % 47 if not)
or
Porto eliminating Bayern: (%27 if Robben plays; %36 if not) .
Oh now I see. no doubt you mean Robben has a big influence on Bayern then, but remember that they have quality players to replace like Pizarro and Gotze.
Hopefully. Would be this years under dog performer. 2 years ago, Dortmund, last year, Atletico, and this year the almighty Porto FC
Porto can beat Bayern, but the chances are very slim and depend heavily on luck and Bayern's injury list. I don't believe Bayern will lose this tie, but it is still possible.
Proud of Porto. We're cheering on you from Lisbon!
So after yesterday's amazing performance from Porto I am starting to wonder if they can actually beat the powerhouse Bayern. They are playing top class football under Julen Lopetegui and the thing about this Porto side that I can say now unlike in recent years is that they have quality in EVERY position. Here's one of the goals from yesterday (by right-back Danilo):
I just wanted to hear if any of you give them a chance and if yes/no then why/why not?
