Can Porto overcome Bayern?

So after yesterday's amazing performance from Porto I am starting to wonder if they can actually beat the powerhouse Bayern. They are playing top class football under Julen Lopetegui and the thing about this Porto side that I can say now unlike in recent years is that they have quality in EVERY position. Here's one of the goals from yesterday (by right-back Danilo):

I just wanted to hear if any of you give them a chance and if yes/no then why/why not?

Bayern literally let Porto win. I can't believe the childish mistakes they made for the first two goals. Neuer should've been sent off immediately because he got none of the ball.

Alonso was once again terrible in UCL.

This just proves that Bundesliga is weaker than Portuguese league !

wow Marcus, really? Please tell me, how many BPL teams are left in UCL? I
won't say that Bundesliga is stronger than BPL, but your statement
right there is just bs. let's see Chelsea play against Porto with half
your squad missing..

hats off to Porto though, better than us in every single department.

Come on mate , Why can't I use the same logic that people use to compare BPL with other leagues ?

If Porto goes through then it will be a fact according to that logic , mate . No hate .

yeah, a very flawed logic.

Great great stuff. although I would have loved to see Bayern and Porto both in semis, it's great to see that Porto now have a huge chance for it.

Porto will be without both fullbacks Alex Sandro and Danilo for the 2nd leg, Bayern will probably get back a few people like Bastian and Ribery so this will get very interesting.

Predict a 2-1 win for Bayern in Munich and Porto go through. also congrats to Barca with an incredible win!

Barcelona's win came as a surprise to me because I expected PSG to either win or draw. I expected Porto to win maybe 1-0 or draw against Bayern, but a 3-1 win I would have never guessed. I strongly feel that both scorelines are grossly exaggerated due to injuries and suspensions; cue Verratti, Ibrahimovic, Silva, Schweinsteiger, Robben, and Ribery.

Marcus trying to start league vs. league debates everywhere he goes lol.

'' they will face a strong team with no apparent weakness and too many weapons against many styles and probably wont commit stupid mistakes... ''

Wrong : Pairing WC form Dante with Boateng was a bad idea, they were very weak defensively.

''They need some exceptional circumstances, a Bayern player early red carded or a good first leg result and a heroical 2 nd leg with scoring in a counter against arguably the best keeper in the world.''

True : PK at the 3rd minute, and a gift from Dante in the 9th one, plus most of Bayern dressroom leaders injured, the circumstances were exceptional.

Its not over yet, 2-0 result isnt impossible for the German, and i think they know it perfectly, but Porto can surprise them in counters so second leg predictions is open.

For me : the suited connectors got an amazing first leg flop (flush draw + straight draw ), but still needs to face the big Aces in second leg...
From 10-13% they are 52-55% now, i give Bayern 45% if their main players come back from injury, and start their main team.

If Porto gets Bayern out of the competition, whole teams fans would be grateful for them, that increases any semi-finalist chances of winning the Graal, Be a Hero Porto, just be a Hero please :)

Anyone who though PSG will win against Barca was foolish, just look at their current team with suspended players + pathetic Cavani. Would like to see in semi-s Porto - Atletico, Barca - Juve

@SternDesSuedens lol way to miss an obvious sarcastic point made by Marcus ;)

@tiki "PK at the 3rd minute, and a gift from Dante in the 9th one, plus most of
Bayern dressroom leaders injured, the circumstances were exceptional." - This summarize the entire game.

My money is still on Bayern to go through.. With a full team and at home they'll destroy Porto! Unfortunately..

I think otherwise .

Pressure is on Bayern to perform to close 2 goals gap and if they concede one ( I think they will ) then things will get even more heated . Yes there is pressure on Porto , but Porto can play classic defensive counter attacking game and patiently wait for Bayern to make mistakes . They can sure defend and capitalize on mistakes we saw in previous matches and during Bayern's match . They just need one early goal in first hald or beginning of first half .

I say Porto will go through . They seem to have spirit and momentum behind them .

If Bayern are out, and Spanish sides dont face each others again, we will assist to a Spanish final again...

@KTBFFHSWE They wont destroy Porto if you have seen any of this Porto team. I agree Bayern would have greater chance if they didnt have the injuries but this wont be a 7-0 like Shakthar.

@Marcus2011 exactly my thoughts. It would be great to see another side than the usual favorites to go all the way this time.

@tiki_taka dont be too confident about that. If two spanish go through which is very likely you are underestimating the situation if Porto and Juventus go through. Those two are two world class teams with full squads.

Whatever happens I think there are more surprises are waiting for us . I like to hope that this year we will see more drama and unexpected winner .

If personally root for Porto , Monaco or Atletico to win . To Me atletico was a worthy winner last year , considering their head to head matches with Madrid . It is kind of like Dortmund vs Bayern rivalry . I think Dortmund deserved 2013 title more than Bayern . Either way may the best club win , all fair and square .
