Arsenal, Barcelona transfer news: Victor Valdes has told Arsene Wenger he wants Gunners transfer

Arsenal are looking for some experienced competition for Wojciech Szczesny, according to the report, and the 31-year-old is keen on being that man.

Valdes told Barcelona earlier this season that he would not be signing an extension to his contract, which expires in the summer of 2014.

The report claims Wenger is mulling over an £8.5million bid for the Spain international as he looks for a more experienced campaigner.

Szczesny was the unquestioned number one at Emirates Stadium up until this week when he was dropped for the Champions League last 16 second leg with Bayern Munich.

I just hope this is is only rumour, I can't see Valdes in Arsenal no way!

past years, he was very weak. but this year's performance was pretty good. but still think valdes is the most overrated barça player since Oleguer IMO

@MRarsenal500 how was that his fault? the defenders weren't covering the player that scored. you don't watch barcelona's matches do you? most of the time it is the defenders fault, they get lazy. you can't just blame the GK

Puyol, Pique, Alba, and Busquets manage to stop most attacks on their goal despite being left all alone by their midfielders and forwards. They just need a more reliable keeper to stop the attacks that do get by them.

When Puyol retires, Barcelona's defense is going to find itself with a big hole. It's Puyol that keeps Pique's head in the game.

People Cech is one of the best. pretty sure he just set a prem record, and few people have him on their list. Just think about his saves in the CL run last season he was fantastic!!!!

I hate to start holding a new arugument, but i would if others did. 

People are trolling people like Busquets for a dive that happened in the 2010/11 season I believe. He has been sensational this seasonal and no-one even bothers to praise him!

Because his bad reputation outgrew his amazing talent. Look at Suarez for example. There is no doubt Suarez is a sensational striker, yet still he is hated by so many thanks to his large reputation of being a diver, cheater, racist etc.
