God, no, please no more pics. This thread is already hard enough to follow. :p

But, no, I'm sorry, but you're wrong about the banks. The banks were not public sector owned. The government was fascistic, and the corporate sector did what it wanted, and in any event it was the bank of Madrid, not Spain, that secured the principal credit. The government did not grant any funds for Real, because Atletico Madrid were already the establishment, government side.

Also be aware that ALL of this backs me up anyway, because the truth of the matter is that Real Madrid were a small club, with virtually no stadium or assets, until Bernabeu came along. He built the biggest and best stadium in the world, he bought the best and most expensive stars in the world, and he did this with LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY.

That's not something to be ashamed of. It's simple investment, and it was paid back because he then went ahead and created his own tournament which his team then won, and this added to their league success.

But it took a LOT OF MONEY.

Money that sure as hell did not come from the government, or 'the people of Spain'.

It came from rich people and banks. THAT's where the comparison with Abramovic comes in. Just get over it.

hes running you lot to the ground, even as a supporter of your eternal rival, i hate to see Arsenal in this state, because its not you guys. thats not the real Arsenal, the real Arsenal has been hiding for almost 9 years, just like the real spurs was hiding for  many years before they became semi concious in 2006, then fully awoken and unleashed almost from 2009 until now, and our full potential hasnt even been exterted yet, theres still more of us on the way. with the right manegement, direction, and fan support, both clubs can return to being a force in English football.

Now you are contradicting yourself. First you agreed that
the majority of the players you named were 18-19 when they joined Madrid except
5-6 players who were stars when were bought over a span of 15 years (every team
has those players ... no team plays 11 homegrown players) but now you again say
that Madrid bought those players “ MOST EXPENSIVE STARS IN THE WORLD “

Man .... Are you sick ? You again and again try to keep a
point when you have none.

The stadium was not built to what it is today in Bernabeu
era.

If we had “lots of
money” we could have spent more on players and stadium development but we only
had enough to match the good teams of Spain .... Money was not raining.

You are clouded by your thought that Real Madrid has always
been a money club when you have only known the club for past 10-12 years and
don’t know shit about its past.

All the funds that Bernabeu  had were spent in basic  infrastructure and other facilities. Money
spent on players was not that much as you are thinking. As I said , Raimumdu
Saporta scouted most players when they were young. They were not expensive.

Barca also bid for Stefano for an equal amount of money as
Madrid but eventually he landed in Madrid. So we were not the only club bidding
Stefano plus we had more home grown talent than any other Liga team.

Again you compare him to Abramovich. The money Bernabeu  got was from banks and people which he had to
pay back (you also said so). So, it was not like his own money to do whatever
he can ..... like in case of Arabs and Roman Abramovich.

You don’t even respect the man who played for Madrid his
whole career scoring 300+ goals and later served the club as its president till
death. He gave so much to Spanish Foot ball and now some internet addict
accuses him to be the Abramovich of that era. I could not resist myself from
saying to you ... Burn in Hell !!

Then you write " there is nothing to be ashamed of " . Don't try to take me to a different path. You are good at manipulating but save it for something worth that. Acting smart will not make you smart.

You have no evidence to support what you say .. I have
evidence, to support me. If after seeing those pics you still think Real MADRID
kept buying in those 30 years .. I am sorry to say you are foolish and perturbed.

Not fucking proof for what you keep saying but still you
keep arguing.

I have a humble advice for you : Join Politics !!

I'm supposed to take seriously the man who says: "burn in hell" because I pointed out that Santiago Bernabeu borrowed tons of money to build a new stadium (the first with electric lights, and was a 70k seater, by the way), buy some of the best players in the world (which you even admit, but now are pretending they came cheap), and who mainly paid this back by creating his own tournament?

Oh, and was also 'elected' for nearly 30 years, only giving up his presidency upon his death?

LOL.

Are you sure you're not a secondary knibis account?

If you can't face up to the history of the club you support (from another continent, btw, while I myself have BEEN to the Bernabeu 3 times), then you have no business supporting them. You're not proud of them; you're proud of some fantasy that you've concocted in your own head.

I have some advice for you, too: do some research into how your stadium was built, and how much it cost, before acting like a jackass towards someone who was being perfectly polite to you.

As this looks like it will keep raging on I offer my 2 cents. I think history that happened say more than 20 years ago is irrelevant. Every team had their roots and dodgy beginings. All it matters is modern age. In this modern age Real Madird have been one of the biggest spenders. Chelsea, City and now PSG modled after the galacticos (which extremely underperformed much like all of the teams I listed). Barcelona, United and Bayern also spend money but they tend to invest into developing talent that will play in the first 11. But i digress, take it for what it is.

@raimondo: Oh, I agree, and if naman were to take the time to read, at no point did anyone say that Real Madrid have always bought success, nor did anyone say that it in any way matters.

It's just true that this is how Real Madrid became a big club; enormous spending. Bernabeu invested in it, and began an era that has rarely been matched, if ever, in Spanish and European football.

And, again, there's nothing wrong with that. For some reason pointing out that the big bucks Bernabeu pumped into the club, and pointing out that Abramovic did the same thing with Chelsea, just out of his own money, has made naman have an epileptic fit, and start telling me to Burn In Hell.

(from the safety of the internet, while he also (lol) calls me an internet geek)

If Arsenal are bought this way, it's isn't something to be proud of.

Wenger did build Arsenal on a steady pace. If anything, being bought out of a slump by money and spending is a lot like losing weight by spending money on liposuction. Yeah you lose the excess but there's absolutely nothing to be proud of. Periods where a club struggles is where the fans are tested, the players show their character and most of all...the plastic fans are weeded out. Going through a period of darkness only makes us love, cherish and appreciate the light we have missed out for so long. I believe our days of winning will come back soon.

But I personally don't want this takeover to happen. There are rumors going around and I hope it's not true. Money has already destroyed the essence and beauty of the game: Agents, bribes, match fixing, young talented footballers corrupted, etc. Now it's targeting arsenal.

*sigh* ... nothing more to add. I know what I read about Madrid's history is true. So I know you are wrong. Now write whatever story you want.

I think that's an admirable way to look at things, koldimere, especially regarding the 'testing' of the fans and players.

That's not guarantee that if they somehow buy the club that we will spend like CITY. If Wenger stays i think he will be against that spending, but we need 1CB,1DM,1ST. And that's priority of the next transfer. But everything depends on if we qualify to champions league.

This isn't a football discussion. This a competition to see who can sound the most pretentious...

Dont be hypocrites guys. See the fact and think rationally. Wenger has the highest annual salaries among epl managers but he has hesitated to increase those of his star players including cesc and van persie. Do not mention german teams. Players in the bundesliga have their own essencial "desire" to play football and put it over their income, and that's why most germans stay at their national league despite endless carrots from so-called big clubs; I'm so glad bunch of japanese footballers experience this atmosphere. Do you really think wenger has given his players such a "dream?" He's just nothing but a hypocrite and incompetent who has interest only on money. This takeover issue is the best alternative plan for arsenal's current conditions.
