In addition: regarding the players, and they're being Spanish: yes, and?
This was a different era, man. It wasn't until the 70s that leagues started to import heavily from other nations. Real doing it in the 50s was wayyyy ahead of the curve, even if how much they did it pales in comparison to today's clubs.
Be fair, dude.
vendetta be good to see. i dont pretend to know all like some other. if there is things im not aware of id like to see and learn them. its nothing personal just my opinion that im entitled to. i havent attacked any member or verbally assaulted them unlike some other on here.
Okay great. This will be the perfect oppirtunity to educate the forumers about Roman the football fan, not Roman, the "gangster" Russian filled with money.
Barcelona Squad : 1960-61 (**4 foreign players)**
Atletico Madrid Squad : 1960-61 (4 foreign players)
Eventually more foreign players that Real Madrid had at that time i.e. 3 players
Anything else ??
Yes. Please answer my existing replies. I have no idea why you're flooding the thread with huge pictures of irrelevant information.
Real Betis squad : 1960-61 (3 foreign players)
Are you... even paying attention to the fact that other people are posting?
After everything you were debating on, if these pictures are irrelevant, then what you said is right....... you have no idea of anything in the past which you were talking about by copying names from wikipedia. Thanks for giving me 45 minutes to be proud of my team while I was typing all this. Feels Good !!
I can see that you have NOT read any of my replies.
Oh well. I thought you were interested in discussing something. Instead, as you say, you just wanted to make yourself feel good. Remember that next time you get upset at Barcelona fans.
yeah lots of glory hunters and plastics will support Arsenal if this happens but look on the bright side spend millions and be honest Arsenal fans you all want to see the old Arsenal back and this is the only solution to solve our problems.
^^^^ its not only solutions mrarsenal500. sorry you feel that but anyway as i said many times the sugar daddy era is over due to ffp. as a result this whole discussion on arabs spending ten of millions on the player is kinda pointless. fh is correct imo. the worldwide life culture of 'i want everything now', is ruining humans
You manipulate words quite cleverly and try to beat them down to show a reader your control over another person in discussion (Believe me, this isn't the first time I observed that in last two months) ........ good !!
Of everything I wrote .. you picked the last line only and concluded it to suit yourself. If you were interested in a discussion, you wouldn't have called those "Barca, Betis and Atletico squads" pic IRRELEVANT in first place because they show that Madrid was not the only club buying foreign players as you said before. in fact Barca and Atletico had equal or even more foreign players than Real madrid in that era.
I think I need to clarify it ... I felt good about writing about our glorious past. It was not like arguing with you felt good. Any one would feel proud about his club's glorious days...... but you manipulated my words their too !!
@MRarsenal500: If you spend millions, then you won't see the old Arsenal back anyway. You'll see Chelsea wearing red and white instead. I side with Footaholic on this one, even though it's obviously enemy territory for me.
All things go in cycles. Arsenal have no 'right' to be at the top, any more than anyone else does. The first half of Wenger's era was glorious, but nothing lasts forever.
Spend some time at the middle of the table, like we have. It builds character. That stadium of yours will ensure that even if Arsenal are not competing for top honours for a while, you WILL be back. And when you do, you'll not have the plastic fans that you do now (and don't live in denial, the majority of Arsenal fans ARE gloryhunters from the Invincibles era). The Emirates stadium (whatever it's called by that time) will come alive with songs and cheers from fans who stood by their club, through thick-and-thin, through all the bad times, and still love the badge as much as they first day they cheered for it (kinda like how the Lane does, if you really want to know :p). And when you do return to successful times, you'll have the special pride of knowing that you did it the Right Way.
Like I said. Builds character.
@naman: no, naman, I think you simply didn't even see my replies, because you were too busy fetching pictures of irrelevant information. I'll repost, just for you:
@naman: Hold your horses there, man.
You make a good case indeed, and fair enough -- you've schooled me on the majority of those players. If I sounded like I was saying Real's history is the same as, say, Chelsea's recent history, then I'll take it back and apologize. You're right; they're not.
However. Before you get too righteous, I feel it should be pointed out that, by government order, Real Madrid's president before Bernabeu was fired, and he was elected instead. It's also the case that the government did NOT give Real Madrid any money to rebuild after the Civil War -- all of the money used to build the stadium came from private wealth and bank loans.
Bank loans which were well repaid by the enormous success that followed in the 50s.
So, yes. Real's money and success came about as a result of one another. Do bear in mind that if Chelsea, for example, manage to turn themselves into a profitable club, based upon the success that Abramovic's money has brought, then this will not be a lot different.
I don't copy Wikipedia, friend. I feel a little insulted that you said so, even as you felt insulted that I compared Bernabeu to Abramovic.
Answer THAT, please, instead of getting all bent out of shape.
Oh, and this part too:
In addition: regarding the players, and they're being Spanish: yes, and?

Those pics you've shown are a full decade later, btw.
Oh, god. Please not this. Im with Footaholic on this, I cant talk much about this, but this would be an honest mistake to have the club given away. I understand us wanting Wegner to leave, but this is too much.
@Naman so we don't have too many foreign players...who cares?
Now add this to your reply and then I think I fit in the shape :
*" In addition: regarding the players, and they're being Spanish: yes, and?

.....................................................................................................................................................................................................
Now for your previous reply .... It was conclusive so I didn;t reply to it.
But one think I want to tell... Madrid got loans from Govt. owned public sector banks (hence I said govt. of spain).
You haven't shown what I said to be false, just so you know. The 50s are not the 60s.
oops. ..finally you typed that same part while I was typing .....
Madrid started to buy foreign players in 55s - 60s only so I showed that pic.. It would be unfair to show a pic of 1950 when we started to buy in 1955-60.
FYI ... their were 3 foreign players in Barca in 1950 squad too ... my wifi closes in 5 minutes ... I can show you the pic tomorrow.
