"Arsenal haven't got a winning mentality" - Santi Cazorla

Why in the F*CK would you say something like this when you damn well know we're in the semis for the FA Cup? True or not, back your team until the end of the season, at the very least.

Mertesacker is THE father figure of our squad. He is a great captain (third captain actually).

^^^ Take a look at that eh?

If Santi hadn't made that penalty today after what he told the media… Well I'm very glad he did.

@tiki No my points are not pointless and yes nationality has something to do with our losses, why? Because they lack motivation and don't really care for the rivalry. Something homegrown players do. The results may have been the same but they would have shown more fight. You may not acknowledge this if you think football is only about quality but passion and fans are just as important.

@Dephased I cant believe that ! When you had many foreign Legends : Henry, Vieira, Bergkamp....
And when you see many other foreign players giving everything for the shirt, you are still obsessed with the home growth thing.
I wont be your friend in real life, i dont like closed minded people who think everything comming from their country is better than others...
If i understand well, only English people understand rivalries and foreign players cant understand and lack motivation.
Some English players lack motivation as well.... And some of them were caught cheating games do you remember ?
Your point is each time a caricature, very far from reality, actually teams with the most English players are down on the ranking table.

Some English players lack motivation as well look at Manchester United, the French Evra compared to the English Rooney....

Oh dear, i'm the least close minded person you'll ever meet. However i see things as it is. This is generally speaking. Some players like Mertesacker works his socks off and is fully into the rivalry but I'm talking about in general here. I don't think that coming from England is better than coming for anywhere else. Im not English even though I was born and raised in England as i'm the child of an Albanian father and Norwegian mother. But you must understand this is the "ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE". And players who have grown up with the rivalry of these understand the fans's urge to beat these teams and some players like Ramsey for example always give 110 percent against Swansea because he dislikes them as he is a Cardiff boy. Where you are from does matter in terms of rivalry in a general sense, though it doesn't include everybody.

Percentage of English Players in the Premier League Drops to 32 per cent.

The pool of English players in the Premier League has dropped by 16 per cent since the 1998/99 season, according to Sky Sports. This decrease backs up the claim of current England manager Roy Hodgson that he is having to pick from an ever dwindling pool of talent.Although Premier League clubs spent a record breaking £624million on player transfers, only 10 per cent of that investment was on English players. There is no doubt a fear amongst English pundits and fans that the number of English players at top clubs will continue to decline and cripple the progress of the England national team.In the past, when there was more top English talent, there were great players that never got the chance to make an impact on the international stage. For example – Matt Le Tissier and Steve Bruce. The fact that Stewart Downing has more caps than “Le Tiss” is just insane.Former England manager Glenn Hoddle believes that a quota system is the way forward:
“The England manager’s job is a hard job as it is and it’s going to get harder and harder unless we readdress it with a rule change.“You’ll get challenged from courts in Europe but for our English team to be successful we have to do something.”In comparison to other major leagues, England’s top clubs are not doing enough to give English players a platform to build from for the national team. For example, looking a few top clubs from the Premier League, Arsenal have four English players in their squad, while Manchester City have five and their city rivals United lead the way with eight. But when you look at the top clubs in the Bundesliga, it is a different story. The current European champions Bayern Munich have a total of 13 German players, while the much admired Borussia Dortmund have 12 and early high-flyers Bayer Leverkusen have the same number. The Bundesliga is an impressive example to follow. There is very little debt at any of their clubs. The majority of German players want to stay in the Bundesliga. And out of the 18 clubs that are competing this year, 13 have German coaches. Whereas, the Premier League currently has four English managers out of twenty teams. In Spain, although the clubs are not as financially sound, there is still a big focus on promoting home grown players and giving young Spanish managers the chance to flourish. Out of the twenty clubs, there are fourteen that have Spanish managers.Three of La Liga’s top teams contain plenty of Spanish talent. Carlo Ancelotti’s movements in the transfer window were very interesting, outside the signing of Real’s latest ‘Galatico’ (Bale), Madrid bought young and Spanish. Los Blancos now boast 12 Spanish players. Rivals Barcelona are well known for promoting players from their La Masia academy and their ‘B’ team. The Catalans now have a staggering 15 Spanish players and Champions League qualifiers Real Sociedad have 14 in their squad. The contrast is unbelievable and it shows once again England, as a footballing nation are miles behind Spain and Germany. It is going to take a lot longer than the four year tenure of new FA Chairman Greg Dyke to turn things around.

All this to tell you that if there is any youth quality that deserve to play in high level, bring them up.

I posted it just to tell you that if any youth home growth deserved to play in high level in big teams, they would have gotten the chance. English Football without Foreigners would looks like to championship level, but i think you would like it because you dont give a **** about the quality of games as long as fans scream loud and players give a good fight ?

Mhm, why would i care about the quality of football? As long as the players do us proud with giving it their all and we create an atmosphere thats enough for me and any true fan. You're so obsessed with "screaming loud". You do understand that true fans stand for 90 minutes and sing the whole period? Cant see you doing that.

Im a Football lover, you are a supporter... My pleasure is to Watch quality Football, your pleasure is to clap with your hands and taunts rivals. I am interested by the tactical and tecnical aspects of the game, you are interested by everything else except that...I dont give that much on fans behaviour on the Stadium, because they represent 0.01 per cent of the whole public of big teams, you seem more interested by fans interactions than the game himself, its your right. But respect those who dont see things like you.

I do respect that , but don't call yourself a true fan if you think quality football is more important than being passionate and supporting your team.

@tiki Heard about using a plane? I go every other weekend if i can to go watch the team. Wanting success has nothing to do with being a true fan. Theres is only one thing that shows you're a true fan, which is that you have passion for your club. Im happy whenever Arsenal succeeds on the pitch but its not what is important for someone who loves their club.
