Buy Sandro
Keep Alonso
Sell Matic
New CB

Marcus2011

If you were to ask me two flaws in Chelsea, I would say Matic and Cahill tbh.

There comes a time where you have to sacrifice players to get to the top, if we want to compete in europe then we have to strengthen our weak positions.

This is the truth, and not ridiculous. Sure you won 30 games, but have you competed in Champions League? Have you won the FA cup? Have you even won league cup? If those don't happen, growth must too also happen.

I would agree with chelsea8 if I were a Chelsea fan.

Bertrand Traore has just left Chelsea for Lyon.
Bournemouth are interested in signing Connor Mahoney from Blackburn.
Sandro is a deal that's nearly complete.
Tottenham will not sell Kane
Sigurdsonn will stay.
More later. Lost everything.

Mourinho knows why Matic is needed for Manchester, if he was the worst player of Chelsea their rivals wouldn't want him simple as that :)

U never know... if Matic goes to United he could put Pogba out of the team! :D

@once a blue - thats never gonna happen no one thats bought 4 that much will ever get put out of the team...besides matic wont in his whole career ever be as good as pogba already is

@nigelpayne

If that's the way United work I feel sorry for them. So all you have to do is get yourself a ridiculous price tag and then you will secure a spot in the first team! True, if Pogba shows what he really can do there isn't much chance but if he's out of form like he was lots of last season, you never know, on top form Matic can be world class. Just think back to the 2014/15 season.

Matic has been average for quite some time now, but I'd be surprised if Pogba could reach the heights of the 2014-15 version of Matic @nigel .. ;-)

@onceabluealwaysablue pogba wasnt 'out of form' last season - just compare his stats to anyone else in his position

enter image description here

@juanmata10 be prepared to be surprised because pogba has a lot of years in him and is already in his first season performing better than a matic who is at an age where most pro footballers reach their prime

@JuanMata10

You say that Darmian and DeSciglio are average players, and that is completely correct but they understand the 3-4-3 system and Conte would bring the best out of them. I always supported the signing of Alonso and was in favour of starting him when we signed him, but even I was surprised by how well he did. Having seen Darmian at the 2014 WC under Prandelii and then at Inter, along with De Sciglio under Conte at the Euros, I have no doubts that they will succeed if they come to Chelsea.

If Alex Sandro really is the 2nd best LB/LWB in the world, then I don't see why we shouldn't sign him, improvement is always the priority. For sure I'd prefer a RWB back you're completely correct in the fact that there is no world class option available for us. It's just a real shame for Alonso, something he doesn't deserve.

Many of you have talked about Cahill and a new CB. If Conte does play Azpilicueta at RWB, I hope Zouma or Christensen can slide in to CB, but I wouldn't be surprised if we splashed the cash for Bonucci. Personally, I don't rate Van Dijk highly, I just think he benefits from Southampton's defence, just like Lovren.

I thought I'd add this in...Who is the better wing back?

@quikzyyy i was waiting for someone to say that...lamest excuse eveeer!

although labelled as a central midfielder mou has played him alongside herrera as a central defensive midfielder...he is often found drifting in and out of the the two centre backs - just like a CDM does

Man, look at the stats what are you comparing.

Goals, same as Yaya who has played less than 700 minutes.

Shots per game, why is this stat even important? Pogba needed around 89 shots for 5 goals, while Yaya didn't even need 1/3 of that with around 31 shots.

Aerial duels won, not dying anything, he is dominating in this.

Basically the stats you have provided don't tell absolutely anything, you say he is playing as a central defensive midfielder, okay, let's compare defensive stats then.

@quikzyy not sure how this turned from comparing pogba and matic to comparing pogba and kante...i only included him to give more evidence...you mentioned nothing abt matic in your last comment????

but seeing as you want to talk abt kante lets talk abt him

as a defensive player its not a bad thing not to tackle as your main job is to break down the attack...putting pressure on the opposition and causing them to pass back is just as effective but does not carry a stat unfortunately however when pogba does tackle he makes it count more so than kante...75% to 69%

interceptions - ok u have to give it 2 kante

the main reason for pogbas lack of clearances is because he is better on the ball than kante and can therefor play it out from the back with skill as opposed to booting the ball upfield like a scared amatuer

a recovery only happens when you lose the ball...pogba doesnt lose the ball so easily!

kante may have won more duels but hes lost more too - kante won 54.4% of duels he went into while pogba won 54.8% of duels he went into...!

theres hardly a difference when it comes to succesful 50\50's and pogba as u said bosses the aerial department

so clearly we can see pogba is still better!

p.s. stats dont mean anything unless you put them into context

I'm back guys. ;) And I'm back doing what I love, bringing you the news and rumours that have been out recently. Here we go:

  • Henry Onyekuru might join Everton after all as they have agreed a fee for him.
  • Lyon expect Lacazette stay. (Again?!)
  • Fabinho is still expected to be targeted by Manchester United even if Mourinho does sign Matic.
  • The higly rater Michael Keane could be close to join Everton.
  • Alves has confirmed his exit from Juventus and could be close to sign with City.
  • Lucas Lima has denied the rumour linking him to Barcelona.
  • Cedric Soares could join Tottenham Hotspurs.
  • Laurent Koscielny is now a possible target for AC Milan.
  • Saint insist both Cedric and Van Djik will stay at the club.
  • John Terry most realistic target now is Aston Villa who have emerged as favorite to sign him. Good news for Chelsea.
  • Fabio Borini will undergo a medical at San Siro before a move to AC Milan worth £5.3M (Not the best move from Milan imo...)
  • Kostas Manolas have not shown up for his own medical at Zenith St Petersburg. Seem like the Greek international want to be paid in Euro instead of Rouble.
  • Banega is set to return to Sevilla.
  • Naby Keita see himself play at City at one point.
  • Bafetimbi Gomis should join Galatasaray after all, despite interest from Marseille.
  • Jermain Defoe is expected to at last join Bournermouth when his contract with Sunderland run its course.
  • Ivan Perisic could refuse a pay rise at Inter to secure a dream move to Manchester United.
  • Ryan Bertrand could be a target for Pep Guardiola.
  • Bournermouth expect to secure Ake from Chelsea for only 20M. Seem ridiculous to me.
  • Pepe have been offered a one year contract by PSG.
  • Real Madrid would have upped their evaluation of Morata to 80M
  • Mendy want to go back to ligue 1 and want to join Bordeaux.
  • Barcelona also would target Cedric Soares.
  • Frank Lampard could become Oxford United manager.
  • Roman Abramovich met Antonio Conte to try and secure a long term contract with the Italina manager.
  • AC Milan are favourite to sign Costa if you believe some betting site.
  • Same could be said about Arsenal being favourite to sign Marhez.
  • Arsenal could also make a move soon for Thomas Lemar.
  • Thiago Motta could chose not to sign a new contract with PSG, the negociation between the two party are not doing too well at least.
  • Anthony Modeste will not join China after all. Considering he was the third best striker in Germany last season, I kind of hope someone move for him.
  • PSG are thinking about trying to recruit Saul Niguez.
  • Ronaldo (the Brazilian) think M'bappe is ready to join Madrid, but only if one member of the BBC leave.

we were discussing the differences between pogba and kante on their individual performances....this has nothing whatsoever to do with which team out of man u and chelsea is better!

obviously everyone knows that chelsea performed better last season - they won the title...however we werent discussing that so....

however when pogba does tackle he makes it count more so than kante...75% to 69%

56 tackles compared to more than 300, yet he's just 6% behind, but Pogba makes it count more, so you basically can bring player who has played one match got 100% tackle success and he is better than Pogba and Kante according to this logic.

kante may have won more duels but hes lost more too - kante won 54.4% of duels he went into while pogba won 54.8% of duels he went into...!

again, Pogba is better because he has better winning ratio, by 0,4% while being included in 355 less tackles.

theres hardly a difference when it comes to succesful 50\50'

but before Pogba was better because he had 0,4% more, suddenly there's "hardly a difference"

so clearly we can see pogba is still better!

yes, basically you post a stats which mean nothing and shows Pogba is better, then he gets compared with defensive stats (you said he is a defensive midfielder) and suddenly the stats doesn't matter.

And if you wanna compare him with Matic, here you go, but Pogba is better defensive midfielder.
