Pacino's performance as Michael Corleone in Part II was one of the greatest ever performances in cinema history. Disgusting and disgraceful how De Niro wins Supporting Actor from limited screentime for the same film but Pacino is robbed. Not taking anything away from De Niro, he is an even better actor than Pacino IMO, but Pacino was miles and miles ahead of anyone that year.

@Gennady ya intersteller was one of the best movies i seen, it was just amazing, after the movie i was left speechless, thats how amazing it was
Meryl Streep and Oscar nominations. Still a better love story than Twilight :D
Interstellar is my favorite movie of last year and Academy always have campaign against Christopher Nolan same like with dark knight and dark knight rises but good to see his movie won 1 this year not like last 2 year with man of steel and the dark knight rises
Agree guys, I have watched God Father I, II, II for like 20 times and never get tired of it. How Al Pacino didn't win an Oscar is beyond my imagination...
Well, the bright side is. for movies it's MUCH MUCH better and less ridiculous than Grammy for music, those ARE REAL JOKES!
Who are those people who won??? Where did they come from?-:)
@Choo The answer is '' considered '' antisemitic, and in France you go to jail if you are caught saying so, i cant answer you :)
France has became worst than China in freedom of speech domain.

among the winners i've only watched Ida and The Grand Budapest Hotel, and they're both excellent. i'm sure i'll like Birdman as well, i'm Inarritu's fan since long time, i hope he won't let me down. the Oscars are a joke anyway, sure sometimes comes out good stuff, but 90% of Hollywood productions are trash. it's better to look at Cannes, Venice and Berlin for the good stuff.
You guys got it wrong . Michael Carleone was main role . So, he was not contending for supporting role Oscar nomination. He was going for best actor . He got best actor at the British academy but not at the Jokewood Academy .
@shpalm
You are so right . However, I think little less 90% of it is a joke , because there were some quality movies coming out time to time , but even you want to watch always insightful good written plot movies before you look up for hollywood movies go look at Cannes , Venice and Berlin . Totally agree with you . Mainly Hollywood makes movies for American audience , because that is where the biggest market .
@tiki
France is champion of freedoms . ( With big sarcastic smile ) . They only use it when they needed and allow it only for certain times and people .
You can insult black people, arabs, chinese, English, muslims, christians but hell no, no word about (........) They own Europe and it must stay secret...
Anelka sacked for a gesture, Balotelli fined for a tweet ( apologized to not be sacked ), its the same case in England as i see...
Whoah slow down there , we all know what you talking about . and I can't disagree with you at all but still let's not put them all under the same roof . Plus , Topic is about movies . :D
Dont worry cant cross the red line anymore, In 2015 a law about internet has made its apparition in France, and people got fined incredible amounts...
A French Historian got 2 years of jail recently for crossing the red line (posting a video), i' d rather steal an old lady than talk about this :)

Balotelli it was totally them.
Lets change toppic guys please :) dont wanna have problems in my country :)
@Marcus
We are all aware that DeNiro and Pacino were competing for different awards...
So, why are you outraged that DeNiro got Oscar and not Pacino ?
@tiki
No way , when did that kicked ? France is a police state ! Amean not a surprise whole Europe is turning into police state . I guess they decided to change regimes to something more suiting . And rise of racism and violence against them is work of Z organization because more people needed back "home" , so I hope you not falling for that .
@Marcus
Because DeNiro got comparitively less screen-time than Pacino. DeNiro was on screen for about 30-45 minutes, but won Best Supporting Actor whilst speaking Sicilian throughout the entire film. Pacino was on screen for 2+ hours with excellency in every scene, and didn't win. This wasn't the only time Pacino was robbed too. He was robbed of a nomination for Best Leading Role in the first Godfather even though he spent more time on screen than the winning Brando.
Lads, Pacino got nominated for best actor (supporting role) in The Godfather (1972) , and for best actor (Leading role) The Godfather II (1974).
@RM17
Exactly. He was robbed of the nomination for Leading Role. I'm pretty sure that's also why he didn't attend Oscars, alongside Brando.
