The number one fear for any club on sale is losing it's soul and identity. A new owner who is not Italian no connection with the club. I don't believe Berlusconi will sell, Milan is too precious to him.

@Wolfie . Yeah Milan is too precious to him . You can see it even when he talks about Milan but There is an economic crisis for Milan right now and you know this hasnt been a good year for them. They are 10. in Serie A and probable fail in CL. And as I see , at least half of Milan fans want him to leave.
For example; your club Inter is better than last year after the sale but your team need some class players to get back to old Inter or create some class player.

If a foreign owner buys the club it will lose all its identity so hope he keeps Milan.

I was trying to be funny here, no offense for Milan fans. Well its probably going to happen one day, money has become more important in Football than anytime before. Any big team need to be competitive in offering big wages to their stars or a bigger club would steal their talents...
I understand Italian fans talking about identity, but your league was used to host biggest talents in the world not sold them, maybe with some extra money, Calcio would come back to his glorious days...

^This a thousand times over. Many football fans think money is a horrible thing in the world of football, but it's a vital resource in this era of football. Screw "identity". Do you want to be the best league in the world, with the best teams in the world, with the best players in the world, or do you want to remain the fourth best league, with very little competition?

Spoken like a true Chelsea fan V.. "Who needs identity when we have all this money!" :D
@tiki- money has always been important for growth and development. It didn't all of a sudden start being important. xD A pub team working minimum wage in the 60's never won a European championship. ;)

@Wolfie: What is identity to you? I understand in Italy identity means a lot over extra money, but when you're a famous club in Milan, and are currently 10th place, then you've already lost your identity (or are losing it). Money doesn't just mean ruining identities of clubs and football, it can also revive or improve one.

What is identity to any club? Philosophy, tradition, character. What was the Clubs foundation and ideals built on? If a new owner changes any of these and the club wins a title, it is safe to say the club has lost more than it has gained.

( My off Topic moment :) )
I think the problem of Europe being in crisis is actually due to Euro, when your economy is not going well or your products are not competitive you need to devalue your currency. As simple as that, the problem is that Spain-Italy and many mediterranean countries cant devalue Euro because it wil not suit Germany who have actually a strong Industry...
They cant tax asian products, because they will do the same and then German cars for example would be taxed in Asia and its not good for Germany.
As a conclusion, England were right to keep their money and be free to value or devalue without needing to speak to a country.
The rothschilds-rockefellers of Europe wants to manage Europe like they manage USA, like a huge manifacture and increase the gap between 1% rich people and the mainstream.

In France, who were the most socialist country with free hospitals, health and education. Everything is changing since we have Euro, we are now waiting for Brussells to give us orders that mainly suit banks and some disgusting lobbies.
Modern Football is the mirror reflect to the economy in the world, Italian teams faced the Italian crisis and it felt on the field.

@Vendetta What place you're in is irrelevant, identity is about the staff being supporters of the clubs and the club producing local players who bleed the clubs colours. Money is nothing but destructive in football, it ruins both atmosphere and club identity.

@Dephased

If money "is nothing but destructive in football", how come the best teams always have either the most expensive players in the world, the highest-paid players in the world, or a mixture of both? Money is the key to success now.

AC Milan's identity is success. AC Milan is one of the most successful Italian clubs of all time, and the days of Van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard, Maldini, Costacurta, and Baresi are long-gone. Even the days of Maldini, Pirlo, Shevchenko, Kaka, Seedorf, Cafu, and Nesta are a distant memory. Milan's identity is directly associated with some of the best players in the world, and with winning trophies. AC Milan have lost their identity. And the only way to recover it once more is through money. Isn't that how Real Madrid recovered their identity? Long gone are the days that you can produce cheap youth products like Butragueno and the remainder of La Quinta del Buitre, or buy Di Stefano and Puskas for less than 2 million. Now is the time when you need at least a good 30 million to buy a player considered "world-class". It's the reality of football now, and we can't avoid it.

PS. I agree with both of what @Vendetta said, and @Tiki-Taka's comment on what Italy used to be, and what it is now.

But for example; Money made Manchester City. In the past Manchester was Red but now for this year Manchester is Blue, or two years ago was. Sometimes its a good thing for teams. I dont know how can this effect to Italian League
but Last year this Indonesian guy bought Inter and they are a li'l bit better this year , but nothing much changed.

AC Milan, Italy 55 2252

@Dynastian
ACM is actually the most successful club in Europe, ever. Berlusconi is the most winning president in the history of football, and he's not selling. these news are a hoax. there is the possibility to get a partner in the ownership, a minor quote, because it would speed up the making of the new stadium which costs 300mil.

also, ACM never needed to spend crazy amounts of money to have top class players. that's the line of other clubs, like RM. we sold champions lately due the FFP. ACM is not a poor club, is one of the top 10 richest clubs in EU. guys really, you jump to conclusions too fast and too superficially. inform yourselves before talking, this tread is full of misinformed statements.
i may elaborate tomorrow, now i'm to tired.

@Vendetta
when you're a famous club in Milan, and you're 10th, that means that you're just having a bad season, not that you lost the identity ffs...

@shpalman

Maybe Milan is one of the top10 richest clubs in EU like you said , that doesnt mean they cant be in the middle of an economic crisis for the club. And I see you are a loyal Milan fan but you shouldnt talk about past , you should talk about present , maybe ACM is just having a bad season, maybe they will get their old form back next season or even next week but not every fan is loyal like you. In every bad week for Milan means that one more supporter will be against Berlusconi. And When these reactions increase then he is gonna have to consider things. We know that, these news are hoax And Berlusconi really loves his club, I said that already. But I think if ACM spends one more year like this then thing will change.
