So many ppl misunderstand the offside rule, the commentator had it completely wrong. The player that scored is not judged offside after the initial strike on goal but after the rebound comes off of said player. If the initial strike had deflected off the defender and straight into the path of the second striker, then the goal would of stood, hence the confusion from the referee as to who last touched the ball.
