That’s not true. Throughout their time in Spain, Messi won more Laligas and elclassico and scored more goals & assists head to head against Ronaldo. Also, Messi won CL final vs Ronaldo in 09 and Semis in 2011. Technically, Messi won more CL when they went head to head. Ronaldo playing in Juve isn’t a big thing bec Juve pretty much wins league every year and in Manu he was surrounded by a super star team but still scored less goals against top 6 PL sides when u compare it to Messi. It is just your bias that you want to downplay Messi career and praise Ronaldo career.

I have have watched Barca a couple of times this season and I doubt they have been this bad since Messi started playing. There doesn't seem to be any motivation or hunger. Messi may be slowing down a bit and not at his best right now but there is something big lacking in the whole team. It's not like Juve have been impressing anyone lately.
Regarding the penalties... those weren't any stonecold pens but both were a right call by the ref. Hard to object. First was NOT just a simple shoulder to shoulder and in the second his hand robbed Weston of a potentially great oppurtunity. Harsh but justifiable.

He's just used to playing against them lol this is why we signed him. He's the Champions League king of comebacks

To all those who say "not a pen, contact sport" you guys are the actual pussies! If it's a contact sport, why don't the defender push him with his shoulder legally? Go shoulder to shoulder with CR7 if you have the balls... Ah... No? Wanna use your arms and then cry it's a man's sport and not a pen? Get fucked. "Not enough in that" my arse... The usage of hands and arms to block is illegal no matter the force used... Just sick of commentators (and defenders) crying "not a foul" because of false perception of what contact sport actually means.

That's just not true man. First of all, let me qualify my response by saying that I also don't think he deserved MotM, maybe Buffon (actually I think Messi was playing really well, just needed better support). But Ronaldo's off the ball movement today was excellent, and if you look closely at McKennie's goal, Ronaldo literally dragged half the defence away with him creating a ton of space for McKennie to receive the ball in. It's not all about movement on the ball, and CR7 demonstrated that yesterday.

Cuadrado should be MOTM tbh. He was the backbone of our squad

At the end of their careers in the European Football ..... Christano Ronaldo proved that he is better than Messi and more effective on the pitch and he played in different European Leagues with more experience than Messi and always has the desire to play, Lead and win

Btw, how many finals won by his teammates? 2014 ramos, 2016 eder, 2016 ramos, 2018 bale, benz. And 2008 Ronaldo missed penalty.. accept he got lucky million times whereas Messi teammates never stepped up when he had a rough game.

Newguy13 - I know that you know this, but try as you might, you still cant ignore it. Messi is a product of Barcelona team system. If the system isnt working, Messi fades. CR7 played in 4 leagues, and succeeded in all 4. Broke into first team action as a kid in Portugal, won everything with MU in England. Won everything with RM in Spain. Winning in Italy with Juve. Sure, maybe Messi has advantage in head to head stats.... but thats because Barca was better than RM much of that time.

I guess you missed the point. If you had played Messi in Manu of 08 era he would have won everything there bec that was the best Manu after the class of 99, and at Madrid Ronaldo didn’t do anything until bale arrived so that’s 5 years and fortunes changes since then again Messi would have done better in that Madrid team from 09-18, now u calling him successful at Juve means you’re just biased bec Juve wins every year for last 10 years so this isn’t the success and Messi would’ve easily same trophies with Juve.. this is literally being at right time at right place. And everybody judging Messi on his teammates poor performances is totally wrong.. this guy has been carrying dumbfucks since Neymar left. Now he simply couldn’t do it.

And obviously you’re dumb enough to think Ronaldo is motm by scoring penalties. For you, this game is all about Ronaldo scoring goals & Messi not scoring. Messi is the only player trying today in Barcelona and obviously you will say that Messi should defend and attack both..

The first penalty was a disgrace. shoulder to shoulder and absolutely not a foul. What happened to contact sport? The defender completely read what Ronaldo was doing and then Ronaldo falls over. Joke. Best part though was seeing faccia da culo Bonucci celebrating like he'd won the champions league, only to be ruled offside.

What a joke this coach really is. Messy formation with no wingers, crowded center attack, and underperforming midfielders. He really believes he can win against big teams with braithwaite, griez, Pedri and Messi all together on the pitch. De jong deserves to be benched. Alena and Puig must become regular starters with pjianic as the pivot. Enough of this double pivot bullshit. All it does it creates a hole in the center, weakens creativity from the mid and slows defense-attack transition. Puig is a pure fucking jem. The energy he bring in the center dazzles the opposition. He makes greats runs, unpredictable passes, immense press, and an unbelievable off ball movement. Messi clearly loves playing along side him for his availability and understanding. Done for this season untill election.

yes. Messi. He tested Buffon multiple times and should've also had a pen. Ronaldo just dived and put away penalties. did sweet f all otherwise.

Messi is the GOAT. Ronaldo clearly dived for the 50-50 call & luckily referee chose to give him benefit of doubt. Ronaldo did nothing throughout the game at least Messi tested buffon many times.

Or any other game lately to be fair. Half the players either don't have the energy, motivation or talent to play for Barca so not surprising. Definition of irrelevant at this point. Shooting for making it into the knockout rounds and maybe push to make the top 4 in the league. Kinda like Arsenal before they gave up even that.
