Emotional and delusional people are going to say Atalanta "played better" or "deserved to go through" but as much as I can't stand PSG, the truth is PSG were by far superior. The whole 2nd half was literally desperate defending from Atalanta. And they looked so exhausted, even from the start of the second half. Tired challenges. Shirt pulls. Everytime Neymar ran at those defenders, they were having nightmares. The only reason they hadn't conceded before 90" was because of PSG's crap finishing. Atalanta did well to get this far but the better team won.

Tbh the way Atalanta was defending in 2nd half it was only a matter of time before PSG scored. There was no energy from them

Wow talk about late drama. PSG have always felt cursed in this competition but tonight it seemed like the opposite

Heartbreak for Atalanta but still an incredible achievement to get this far. They looked really tired those last 20 minutes or so

PSG probably should've won by more realistically though. Neymar was great at constantly getting past defenders, but his finishing was terrible. Probably should've had two or so just himself if his shooting boots were on

Ligue 1 teams knocking out Serie A teams left and right lol they eliminated us and now Atalanta. Sheeeesh. I i guess I was a bit harsh when I said Ligue 1 is below Serie A GG Ligue 1 my apologies. Kylian needs to go to Real Madrid to improve tho I'm not gonna change my mind on that. Even Kylian himself knows it. Btw wtf was wrong with Neymar in this match? he missed so many opportunities and an easy 1 on 1 with the GK even a kid who plays football every week would have put it in sheeesh he was not himself in this match even tho he did a nice dribble skill.

@Ahmoss AC Milan fan calling Juve shit? LMAOOOOOOO oh shit I haven't laughed this hard during covid-19. CR7 broke records in Serie A for his personal career and won the Serie A title twice in a row. Yet, you claim that he "destroyed" his history hahahhaa HE MADE HISTORY YOU HATER. Look at his Instagram's post where he's kissing the ball; read the description. He's basically saying he will stay with us as we come back stronger than ever then he said see you soon so he won't leave us just yet. He has a goal in mind, to make us lift the CL title which is the reason why he signed for us in the first place. He didn't sign for his for the Serie A title, even though he wanted it in his GOLDEN resume. He signed for us to finally make us lift the Champions League title after losing finals.

I was pissed at PSG watching the game... Each player is capable of dribbling past two Atalanta players in any area of the pitch, their defenders are quicker to every ball, yet still create no real chances?... It was like PSG was not able to take the game seriously. I'm glad in the end they got some luck because they did deserve it.
Neymar through ball to Mbappe's assist was world class.

Paris Saint Germain, France 0 458

Rust, perhaps. The XI was also not ideal. This team really depends on Verratti to involve the forwards. Neymar certainly had a game! Probably a top 3 performance in a PSG shirt, he's really come a long way.

Almost had a heart attack with PSG's history of bottling things! But great hunger from the players. I still dont like Tuchel because it feels like he is a very pessimistic coach. Anyways great job from Atalanta that could have won with a little bit more luck.

It is rarely to find champion team played with formation 3.5.2 because defence in this plan could not be strong as usual

Psg benefit from 5 substitutions because their bench has plenty of superstars players and they benefit also from their finance and how the owner is rich but respect for Atlanta for their good performance this season and they need to build good team for coming years

xumeey 6 years ago

Liverpool 0 1462

Spot on and that's why I'm against this 5 subs crap. Next season we should go back to 3 subs otherwise small teams would suffer greatly against big teams.

_Pelle_ 6 years ago Edited

Paris Saint-Germain 161 6982

5 subs is temporary. Some teams are/were playing many games in a short period of time, and 5 subs would also let players rest more.

AS long as it doesn't continue to next season then it's fine.

Other than Mbappe (and maybe Draxler), who else is a superstar on the bench? Your argument isn't valid in this case.

I actually like it if it's cuz of the hot weather and corona craziness it's a good sollution. Of course they should stop it next season.

I like the 5 subs rule, the big clubs can make use of their squad depth.

mirkivicinic 6 years ago

Liverpool, Burkina Faso U20 0 266

then you must be never saw 7 subs in a league match

Greatone 6 years ago

Arsenal, Australia 19 727

@Footywatch thats exactly why its a very bad thing. Football shouldn't be all about money because then its boring and you know who's going to win and then you lose fans.

@Xumeey The rules of the game people were actually considering actually extending the rule for next year as well.. :/

Footy_watch 6 years ago

Arsenal, Brazil 30 1978

If we had the 5 subs rule earlier in the season we probably would've had a good chance of getting champions league. I dont care about small teams, I just want us to win every trophy every year

Greatone 6 years ago

Arsenal, Australia 19 727

@footy_watch I want arsenal to win, but I definitely want football to continue to grow. People get bored and look for other avenue's of entertainment if there's a monopoly on the top teams based purely on who's the richest team. When football starts dying because less viewers/fans > less money for investment > less quality because of less investment you'll start to realise how important the smaller teams are in increasing the overall quality level of football, leading to a much more entertaining game. Don't just be a fan of a team, be a hardcore fan of the game.

What a crazy game that was. Congrats to PSG, finally on to the semi after 25 years and in what a dramatic manner. Finally, I'm sure Atalanta will be dissapointed but they really shouldn't be ashamed, they had one amazing first Champion League campaign and hopefully, they will come and try again in the future!

Well this was only their 3rd competitive game since March

TheLamb 6 years ago Edited

Arsenal, England 2 549

Well they weren't very competitive. It really did look like they were wanking the entire game each player focused on enjoying his time, show some skills and getting into shape rather than actually trying to win. (and they were behind lol) So yeah I agree it looked quite "friendly". I'm happy to see them go through because fuck it I want to see Neymar and Mbappe they're more entertaining than Atalanta

Even a dumb person like me can know that this match was fixed. PSG gave 12 million dollars to Atalanta, just to let them win and go through in semifinal. Another sad day for football fans, another normal day for football clubs.

Football is something else. It makes people cry with joy and sadness at the same time. Gotta feel so sorry for Atalanta they played so well but the PSG stars were too strong in the end. I thought it was going to be another whimpering performance for PSG in the UCL but they finally showed up in the last 5 minutes. Neymar Running at defenders vs shooting was day and night. He couldn't shoot to save his life but my god can he run with the ball so well.
