Hwang made Van dijk look like a fucking joke. Careful there big boy don't want to pull a muscle and jeopardise Liverpool's chance at a title HAHAHA

Hwang seems not to know who van Dijk is and he doesn't care! He was way better than Messi against van Dijk

This is why we need more Champions from other countries competing in the Champions League. Great game.

Liverpool running out of stream already? Another season without a title for Liverpool

So this is my takeaway from the game: Van Dijk was beaten, and the goal scored...quite exquisitely I might add :)
Hwang is a star.

Liverpool not really into it it seems and Matip in defence is a big miss. Joe Gomez should be benched forever. I'd rather they play Lovren than him. Players that need to be sold...Hendo and Lallana. they bring nothing to the game

Hendo needs to be sold? Wow. Unreal, especially from a Liverpool fan.

Lallana I agree with. We can stack our bench with better players than him, but Hendo is the glue of the team. Just because he doesn't score much, make flashy dribbles, or put the most impossible through balls for crazy assists, doesn't mean he isn't a great player.

As much as we like to appreciate and celebrate the power of the engine, the valves etc. Hendo is the fuel injection. He does simple, less flashy work, but some of the most necessary to build a solid base for others to shine.

It's annoying how this kind of player is underrated by 99% of viewers. People have been saying we need to sell Hendo for like 5+ seasons now, and yet, he's remained in the team, and is always captain when playing (post Gerrard) which is a testament to his value. Every coach, so far, has understood this.

What a match. Mohammed Salah is truly a Egyptian king in football this guy was called a one season wonder but he's in-form when he's needed the most

if u ask me..gomez is at fault in all 3 goals..yes he isnt bad..but he is not good enough..he is not intelligent with the ball or without the ball..u can feel the nervousness whenver he hold the ball..multiple back pass that not convincing to adrian (pity adrian)..and a lose few key arial battle (will address comfortably by matip). 1st goal he is out position and miss marking hee (not to discredit hee but his goal is insanely good) and van dijk need to cover ground. 2nd goal baddddddd decision to make a stupid foul at right middle of the park and no attempt to try witheld the game for collegue to regain ground 3vs2 simply (but minamino first time volley is super good not to discredit this goal either). The 3rd goal is mismarking haaland..he is big frontman, how come u mismarking him..?!!

I don't want to scapegoat him but yes, he wasn't very good tonight but can we blame him though, after all, he didn't play a real match since last season. The midfield didn't help either both Gini and Hendo were poor. Hopefully, Matip will be back and we'll have some good energy as well against Leicester.

xumeey..agreed with u..but I just stated the fact..yes salzburg may seem weak in term of general knowledge but they really proved that they boast with good quality..3 mistakes 3 goals they got..gomez is still not good enough..he need more experience..more intelligent with or without ball..today he really exposed our defense a lot..and our mid surely not helping our back line..lucky our mr reliable did help get things going smoothly at the end

i agree but, remember the start of the last season he was class alongside van dijk, he needs game time and i am sure he will bounce back.

Scary experience for Liverpool.. Did they get complacent after 3-0?

Yup. But Salzburg played very well too. The equalizer was the wake-up call for Liverpool.

I don't know how Mane missed that cheeky corner from Trent. Sadio's finishing is a mystery.

Hwang and Minamino were incredible today. What an exciting Salzburg team!

Why we so bad at 2nd half ? i think Klopp using 1st gear because this weekends we got Leicester, its not gonna be easy, anyway Salzburg is no joke, not using 100% effort and they can punish u, we cant use 1st gear like this at Austria.

xumeey 7 years ago

We missed Matip in this game even though Gomez wasn't terrible you can tell the defense was very nervous even before they scored the 3 goals.
