0 shots on target and 1 shot off target lol France. Turkey was amazing. If Turkey scored those other chances, would've been disastrous loss for the World Champions. Ulan Burak, should've scored those.

It's only 2:0 and away at the likely other qualifier in the group but it should still be a wake-up call against producing half-assed performances from overpaid players with their heads already on vacation. We had no energy and totally did not take this game seriously. Some of them should be benched against Andorra just to make an example of the complacent players. That said, kudos to Turkey. They did everything right and rode the crowd atmosphere perfectly. More than deserved win.

Lets be honest, France was quite lucky to win the World Cup, their football was beyong boring, not to mention the awful ref mistakes in the final

Dude juste cite me one better team in Russia and then u will be allowed to talk about luck. Except Brazil not a single team was even close to France's level.

First of all, I think France deserved the cup. But there was one better team: Croatia. 9 pts at a much harder group with Argentina, Nigeria and Iceland. Played 3 overtimes prior to the final and still managed to score 2 goals against France which had conceded only 4 goals, 3 of which were from Argentina. Seriously, 3 overtimes played by an opponent is the luckiest a finalist can get.

Yeah conceded 3 goals to argentina whom they beat 3-0 makes sense

Oh, I got it. You misunderstood ArthurMorgan. I said FRANCE conceded 3 goals from Argentina, not Croatia. No problem. You missed the grammar I guess. Peace.

Wow, This was a pretty poor performance from us. Credit to Turkey, they played great. Kante is really important in that midfield.

How terrible must you be to not even get off the bench for Turkey ffs? Calha-no-clue needs to be sold!

Cizbiz 7 years ago

It's about team dynamics and strategy, not individual quality, about which apparently you have no clue.

Congrats to Turkey team, but it's quite a disgrace for France to play such an anti-match. The coach should change his decisional patterns, tactical schemas and overated titulars

Cizbiz 7 years ago

Barcelona, Netherlands 0 625

I think this is Turkey's biggest success since 2002 and the coach was again Senol Gunes. This guy has just remarkable tactics. On the one hand you have Grizu, Mbappe, Pogba and all, on the other, it was basically the internationally unknown Turkish youth. I'll check the average age of this team but I expect stg like 24 which. is. just. unbelievable.

2008 was better than this

Cizbiz 7 years ago

Barcelona, Netherlands 0 625

Ok those are tournaments, this is just one match. I shouldn't have compared them in the first place. I don't think Turkey beat any team that was at least a World Cup Semi-Finalist in a previous World Cup, ever. And it was exciting in 2008, but not a decisive success like 2002 or this. You can say 2002 was a lucky fixture as well, but World 3rd is much bigger than Euro semifinalists. In any case this game is definitely Turkey's biggest win in their history. We're talking about beating the World Champions. It's only been a year, man!

i just dont like to say biggest neither, football has huge history so does our football. And i still prefer 2008(comeback kings). I m lucky to watch both this match and croatia 2008 in stadium :)

Poor poor performance... no fight from France from the first to last minute, no agressivity in the midfield, fouls... Mbappe has grown arrogant, he needs to understand that he's still a kid and he can be subsitituted.

_Pelle_ 7 years ago

Paris Saint-Germain 161 6982

Agree a bit about Mbappe and I support PSG. He has started to act a bit too much like a diva and shows less humility. Smells bad...

I know "ulan" lol. Burak shouldn't have touched that thru pass toward the end when he was offside as well, but he was too tired to think I guess.

_Pelle_ 7 years ago

Paris Saint-Germain 161 6982

Not disastrous at all. A big loss would have been a wake up call... even if 2-0 was bad enough.

Emrecan_58 7 years ago

Besiktas 149 3377

@Cizbiz Yeah lol. Ever since he's a Beşiktaş player (2nd time), I happen to appreciate him hahah.
@_Pelle_Big loss would've just destroyed their confidence. This I think, however, is a better chance for a wake up call.
