They needed a scape goat for the bad performance and Özil was it mostly due to political issues. Özil created the most scoring chances during the finals, but he can't be effective if you have Werner upfront and also Muller's underperformance didn't help. Unfortunately, some people think that football is all about who runs the most or shows emotions even though that alone won't win games.

23 goals is not very much, France are playing defensive football, the only reason you are entertained is you won the title, otherwise you would be the first to criticise.. and dont forget you got handed the WC final with 2 referee mistakes vs Croatia, it was far from convincing

no he doesnt just miss one chance, he also miss chances in important games like against Mexico and Korea remember, and hes not realy false nine who assist goal scoring wingers like Giroud for france, or Benzema or Firmino for their clubs, so he cant assist or scoring, just can defend as Winger and 2nd Striker ? if he was team leader why he doesnt get bashed like Ozil ? at England we have racism history but we dont blame criticize and bashing non white first at modern day, u can see team leader like Rooney and Henderson always get criticize first no matter if they were white aryans or not.

Muller is one of the guys I hate and admire at the same time. I hate how much he is acting to get refs decision. But other than that.. he is the most annoying player to play against you: never give up, always aggressive, always active - such a pain in the ass. Great leader for a team really.

Müller was not playing well at the world cup. He got harshly criticized for that over in Germany just like other players. Who says Özil got a harsher bashing because of his performance? Do you live in Germany have you read our news? Why do you bring racism up when racism was never an issue? Racism has nothing to do with being criticized when you play shitty. Özil did something stupid and was hiding the whole time. No statement nothing. Müller, Boateng, Hummels, Neuer and Kroos all went to the reporters after the games aknowledged that they played bad and were pretty critical towards themselves. That is why Müller, Neuer and Hummels for example are considered team leaders. NOBODY said only Özil played shitty. You must have false informations.
To Müller, well his statistics speak for him.

Muller was bundesliga top assister last season and has been the golden boot. he also scored over 20 goals in one season as a CAM. He is not in his prime but is still world class at what he does.
