If that is how you opine, your understanding of football leaves some desiring.

Ter Stegen and Messi saved Barca, Dembele did really well too. PSV deserved at least a draw :(. Vidal and Rakitic together do not work. I dont see any fit of Vidal and Barca, he is just awful, his position, pass back etc.. dont make any sense, gave defender who received the ball all the hard time. He works hard most of the time though... Still feel bitter for PSV :D

Seriously, but luck was also not on PSV side. it could have easily been 3-0 PSV in the first half only.
Vidal was top performer. He has made so many interceptions and blocked many attacks from the middle of the field. With that he contributed a lot in the offense as well. I don't know where did you find him performing awful?

But yes, Rakitic on the other hand was not performing up to his standards.

Great takeaways. Rakitic was lost playing more to the left than his usual right side. Vidal is a liability as he rarely backtracks (*cough* Paulinho *cough*) or does so efficiently; more so, this characteristic of his was visibly a hindrance for buildup in Pep's Bayern (there are videos of Pep being frustrated with Vidal regarding his pass decisions and not forming the correct passing triangle).
I too felt that a draw would have been a more fairer result considering the effort put in by PSV attack vs Barca defense.

Ter Stegen deserves so much praise after all the years Barcelona struggled with goalies. Today his feet were a little cold though.

Messi are you serious? What a goal. And what a performance from Dembele too, not sure why EV subbed him out.

mfharis 8 years ago

It was disappointing to see him substituited. For me Dembele was constant threat on the wings and should have been on the field for whole 90 mins.

Shaky in defense during the last 20 minutes. Lots to work there, but Messi and Ter Stegen are there to save the day.

Messi doesn’t have fan base like cr7. I think most idiotic fans of other clubs voted him because he is a football genius.

You know there's no need to even say this. Everyone who watches soccer/football knows this man is the greatest player to have ever played this sport. We can only hope he continues playing for many more years so we can continue watching his magic.
