Very true.. salah either play for the team or needs rest in the upcoming fixtures. He is taking way too serious pressure of his golden boot chances. This match expected atleast filling the goal differences but in the end it was a hard earned 3 pts

One bad moment almost cost us the league. Salah needs to play for the team instead of for himself.

Oh my words, What was that defending on that goal for Babel. Its funny how playing Bayern in Munich was easier than this. Nearly bottled it.

Am I the only one that heard the innuendo when Salah didn't take his chance at the end?

Respect for Babel for dying head in red and not celebrating!

I think the "no celebration" celebration often feels disingenuous. I mean, Babel played for Liverpool about 8 years ago and wasn't exactly a club legend. He was a bit of a flop and joke if I remember right. Obviously if its players with the sort of loyalty of Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, etc and they had scored against their old clubs, the no celebration would be justified and feel genuine.

Also, I think it's disrespectful to the team you're with currently. Especially in this case since Fulham are battling relegation.

I never even considered the hair colour actually (I know he has had bright colors in it before) but if it is some kind of tribute to Liverpool that is even worse, classless.

@colkurtz8 mate, what are you on about? 1) You realise that players can get sold even if they don't want to leave? Leaving does not = lack of loyalty in many cases.
2) Just because his success at Liverpool didn't last, doesn't mean his celebration isn't genuine. Did you stop to consider that perhaps the man just really loves Liverpool? Maybe his fondest professional memories in football are from there?

""Liverpool is my club," he says, smiling. "I try to follow every game. I still support them, I wish them all the best."" - from a sky sports article in 2017.

It's people like you who forget that it's not just about winning and "success", people can be loyal without having "made it" somewhere, so stop commenting such ridiculous rubbish. Also, he's had that hair colour all season...

@milansokolovski I never said he wanted to leave. I said he wasn't good for Liverpool. However, you are right, that doesn't mean he didn't enjoy his time at Anfield. Liverpool was the biggest club he played for. It was during the peak of his career (I use the term "peak" in a relative sense)

But you conveniently ignored my other point...What about Fulham, the team he's playing for now? The team who are paying his wages. He was bought to help them avoid relegation. He scores a goal and doesn't celebrate? Do you not see an issue with that? How it could come off as disrespectful to them.

And, I used the term "disingenuous" because I bet inside he was delighted. Scoring against a top team and getting one over on his countryman after the comment he made about him pre-game.

@milansokolovski You make 2 fair points and Liverpool was the biggest club he played for. It was during the peak of his career (I use the term "peak" in a relative sense)

But you conveniently ignored my other point...What about Fulham, the team he's currently playing for? The team who are paying his wages. He was bought to help them avoid relegation, he scores a goal and doesn't celebrate? Do you not see an issue with that? How it could come off as disrespectful to them if it seems like he doesn't to score.

And, I used the term "disingenuous" because I bet inside he was delighted. Scoring against a top team and getting one over on his countryman after the comment he made about him pre-game.

I disagree with your "loyal" comment. How can you be loyal to a club you don't play for anymore? Being "loyal" to a team who are your opponent is untenable. You should be loyal to the team you are with.

I miss those days. It was months of stress, game after game. That's why there's nothing better than winning the league. We're only fans experiencing title races, imagine the pressure on the players.

Why not gradually cut down Salah's playing time till he gets back his form? There is no point in overusing him, when in reality he needs rest and needs to think

He has a two week international break right now, in which he wasn’t even called up because Egypt have already qualified for this summer’s African Cup of Nations. So he is getting his rest right now. What, you think he won’t start against Spurs?? Think of all the Spurs guys who get called up for internationals. Advantage Pool at Anfield, obv

I know right he needs to understand goals come naturally if they play as a team but obviously he's not thinking clearly. Liverpool will never close down City's GD with poor performances like this one. If Liverpool is to win the league it'll by points, not GD.

CaptainVanDijk no one gives a f about his golden boot, everyone cares about the League, i sad it before, salah is a very selfish player and he isnt the very important player of the team, firmino does, no firmino no parties for other two.

I agree Salah's decision making was poor at best these past few months, but he still ties down enemy defenders, often more than one, leaving space for others to operate in.

Remember how good Studge and Sterling seemed when all 4 defenders tried to keep Suarez at bay?

Well both teams were basically gifted a goal (albeit one via penalty) so I guess it all checks out in the end
