was a foul against Giroud and Joselu goal shouldn't count... VAR needed in EPL

I will call this match "Justice". Jorginho alone completed 86 passes more than the whole completed passed by the whole Newcastle team 67. What a boring way to play from Newcastle and they should have been more yellow cards for them. Great passing by Chelsea and a well deserved 3 points. The penalty is 50-50 for the ref to see, Newcastle's goal shouldn't have been counted after a clear elbow on Giroud. COYB! Let's go prepare for our next match against Bournemouth.

I follow games from EPL, La Liga and Bundesligan. At the moment EPL already feels outdated. It feels clumsy because you run into this kind of refereeing issues all the time and now after I have also accustomed myself into VAR by watching the World Cup, those really start to bother me.

Fabregas when he is fit Kante will be benched that's why I won't be surprised if he got sold when the next transfer window opens

Example, after an example... and there will thousands of more, just how much EPL needs that VAR!
I can hear A. Wenger's words from last year (and he was amongst the few coaches from the big clubs, who voted YES, for VAR), "EPL will find itself way behind the other top leagues, when it comes to referring!"
It's already happening!

Good game by chelsea and great game by Hazard. He would be even deadlier if he could pass the ball a little bit quicker sometimes instead of trying an extra dribble.

But Chelsea paid the money because they thought he was worth that. If not they should of looked else where

chelsea1960.. on current form Benzema is miles ahead of Morata.. even based on their form when Benzema was Morata's age, he was better

chelsea1960 8 years ago

Chelsea, Belgium 0 1020

@iker89 thats the difference tho benzema is playing in la liga and morata is in epl

ItsCmi 8 years ago

Chelsea 0 759

I still think Benzema would be better than Morata in BPL. Morata is not aggressive at all

Fair game, but VAR is needed ASAP.

The fact is that the penalty shouldn't have been given. He clearly got the ball, but I also agree the Newcastle goal shouldn't have counted. Chelsea deserved the win but I'm sick of game decisions decided by clear missed calls

I guess now I feel how it feels to play against Mourinho defensive team. Especially when he was at Chelsea.

Penalty-50/50, foul on Giroud 100%. EPL needs a VAR right now!!!
Overall, a boring game, can’t blame Chelsea though.

and I thought mourinho set up teams defensively!

This was park the bus,put an antitheft lock on the steering wheel and take the wheels off so it can't move at all from Benitez.

Hazard was a marked man. I thought he got injured early in the first half, but thank goodness it wasn't anything serious. GG newcastle park the bus somewhere else

Both first goals shouldn't have happened but Wtf is Luiz looking at? Play until there is a whistle! Stupid. We can't win titles with Luiz again having brain farts! There is a reason why Conte benched the guy!

KANTE_SHOOT 8 years ago

Chelsea, Ireland 0 196

Luiz was good in the middle of a back three in the first seaon when Conte had Luiz be the first person to press the ball while the other two CBs stayed backed and tucked in which I think is the better way for a back three to operate, then for some reason Conte changed the tactics in the second season and made the left and right CBs press first instead of Luiz which didn't work for Luiz. I believe it was Contes change of tactics that made him have to bench Luiz as oppose to it being Luizs fault for playing bad because of being left to clean up the mess by himself, whereas when Luiz had the cover of two CBs behind him he was better as oppose to him being the cover for the other two CBs. As for playing in a back four I don't believe Luiz is the man for the job because he simply can't do it.
