Kudos to the Aussies. After getting their penalty called off by VAR (correctly for the hand ball prior to the foul), getting scored on a soft penalty and giving away a second goal all in 15 min, I had written them off even though they were playing pretty well. Great guts coming back from 2:0 vs Brazil.

the first penalty given to Brazil is definitely not a penalty, just because ref called it doesn't mean VAR couldn't cancel it! this sort of soft signals even with VAR is happening frequently and is an issue now...the first penalty appeal by Aus is more legit than this one...

And third goal given to Aus is pure madness! Definitely that player was interfering the play while coming from an offside position!

This game shows that even with technology, we can't control blunders cause at the end of the day humans have different perspectives and will act differently to the situations....

VAR can never fix situations that are too close for everyone to agree on the decision for. It merely presents the correct facts to the referee to make their decisions based of. But there is still a human factor in play when judging the situations for them. Nevertheless, it is still an improvement to give the referee the right information to base their decisions of

That, and perhaps more importantly there are the unambiguous calls such as offside decisions that are always black or white that VAR can always ensure to get right. It's impossible to get a 100% perfect system but VAR is certainly a step in the right direction at least

VAR is step forward, but that 3rd goal is ridiculous, it's pretty clear that player must not show interest in game to allow this kind of goal
how on earth could referee allow this goal....
